No way, I love the game but the frame rate drops are plentiful. I refuse to believe there is anyone that hasn't had it happen, maybe they don't know what it is on a technical level but if there is someone in this world that has played fallout 4 to completion without any issues I would be astounded.

Don't get me wrong, the game does have severe frame rate issues in places, and it is likely impossible to finish the game without experiencing them. However, as I said, there are quite a few areas where the frame rate does hold up relatively well. I think that AC Unity was a worse performing game overall though, but that isn't exactly saying much in defense of Fallout 4.

Internet is full of ignorance, Ryan knows it, and this thread proves it.

Embrace it fellow gaffers. Denying that being different can perfectly be, and often is, a way to catch attention, is proving you never bothered on knowing why the people think the way they think, and that you never try to consider all the possible point of views surrounding a event to reach the truth about it.

There's where ignorance comes from.

Yes, maybe that was a mistake from RT to make some of the comments they did, but still they talk is about the "being different" thing, and that's a total legit point.

Read this a few times and I don't understand what your point is.

Gerstmann has the WORST opinions on most things ever, and yet his is the only opinion I really care about. He's "Video Games: The Dude" for me.

Is that an assumption we're making based on how obvious it is or did they disclose that fact somewhere? I don't see them listing Bethesda or Zenimax as a sponsor in the description of the video(s) in the OP (or I didn't see it because their descriptions are rubbish.)

That is a hell of an accusation to make.

You got me. You are completely right: they don't list Bethesda or Zenimax in ANY of their videos.

They do claim that

This episode of Immersion brought to you by Fallout 4 https://www.fallout4.com

For example, here. Or here. Or here. So they were paid to produce that content by Fallout 4, not by Bethesda or Zenimax.

Man fuck these guys and their high ass horse. Look I didnt buy a 980ti so I could lag at 15fps in the fucking Commonwealth or die in a elevator cuz the floor disappeared.

Bethesda games have always been and will always be a fucking mess that needs to be cleaned up by a modding community sadly, don't waste your 980ti on Fallout 4.

Rooster teeth can suck a fuck.

Are you for real?

If anything it's Ryan that proves it.

Just let me pass a bit of human behaviour knowledge:

Not all the people in the planet have the same skill when trying to put into words the things they are thinking.

And when talking about "deep" theoric things, like human behaviour, the brain have actually a lot more "trash" in that we need to go through before we can speak words about it.

Therefore, the words that comes out can perfectly be a small part of a whole, or an amalgamation of thoughts from here and there, that comes from an unprocessed (or not fully processed) idea or theory.

Being the result a speech where only the one who speaks it knows the context or the reasons for saying such things, and for the others, it seems like he is speaking some shit.

And from all the time I've been surfing the internet, I learned that most of people is unable to see through things and just sticks to whatever they see/hear, without being conscious of the whole scene, and without feeling what else could be going on that moves persons to do what they do.

The sensation I got from the video is just that they overacted too much, (thing that happens when you are making a video to broadcast over internet). They just wanted to make a point, and where they tried to use an example or reference (Jeff), they got it wrong.

I'm pretty sure they didnt wanted to attack him directly. And for the "wine and cheese" thing, is clearly a humoristic note.

All together became a thing easy to misinterpret, and so it happened.
Ryan tried to explain the situation, yet he got more criticized.

The ignorance smells even here. That's why he then made that tweet.

This thread proved me how most of users can only see the surface of things, and they act like if they knew everything.

Mabufu's generic philosophical talk.
Oh Internet... Failing at judgement, as always.

It didnt even take me more than 5 secons to understand that was more of a generic philosophical talk that a direct critic to Jeff.

Case in point.
Sorry, didn't mean to come off so sarcastically. Meant no disrespect to you personally.

Actually, my point was more directed to ANDS than to you. It's not such a "hell fo an accusation to make" when Rooster Teeth themselves are openly acknowledging who is paying for their content.
It's okay, no hard feelings man.

I don't know any of these people, I don't know any channels, I know that F4 is buggy, I know that the video game community is a funny mess at the moment (wasn't there something like GamerGate and shit like this?) etc.

I am really surprised that people care about this shit at all. I mean... play games guys.

Not defending the comments of Meg and Ryan at all here, it's just worth noting Rooster Teeth is now a company of around 110 people.

The paid Fallout content was (from my knowledge) the episodes of the show Immersion, which on a recent podcast they openly noted was sponsored content, and it was content they were comfortable promoting because it was their own little live-action comedy/reality show sort of thing, and not a more formal or editorial piece.

For the record I only really listen to their podcast, I don't really watch a lot of there other shows. I like the people and the personalities there more than their output, it's well produced, it's just not really my thing.

Framing is incredibly important and you kind of lose your audience when you try and make a point about using low review scores as a means of driving traffic when your complaint is hung on a 4 star review (3 star for consoles) about a game where you're wearing the game's iconic device on their arm. Hand washing away the games technical issues as if they're nothing and making snide claims about some kind of elitism doesn't really lend itself to the arguments sincerity. So maybe you should start seeing through that surface and see the point they're really making. There's a lesson in human behaviour here, it's just not the one you're seeing.

I didn't know who any of these guys were until they started smack-talking Jeff. I love how Ryan's rebuttle says that they didn't specifically call out Jeff, which they absolutely did? Like I have said before, when you're a talentless hack the only way you can get yourself noticed is by talking shit about people who have integrity and a large following.

So, I guess on that front, it worked! Because here we all are.

The more he keeps digging the more entertaining this gets. Dude needs some perspective. He totally doesn't understand why what he and his co-workers did was wrong.

I'm enjoying how wildly out of control this has all gotten considering Jeff probably gives zero fucks about it.

Yeah, he's too busy being jaded and rolling his eyes at every videogame all day, every day.
/s obviously

This seems like a dumb "controversy", they singled out Jeff, and now are "backpedalling" in the worst way possible.

I don't think he needs to apologize - this whole this is getting overblown IMO - but Ryan sure knows how to fan the flames just as they're dying down.

I think his original Reddit response was legit and he should have just left it there. It's not apologetic at all, but Ryan is a stubborn motherfucker and he treats most situations like this.

LESSON OF THE DAY: arguing about review scores, review score methodology, or outlier reviews is totally futile. Just agree to disagree.

I don't get why Ryan hasn't just apologised for an off the cuff and frankly unprofessional comment, and instead just adamant on covering it. People have differing opinions, if he wants to raise an issue with what some people may do - fine. Singling someone out and juxtaposing it with that flippant "wine and cheese" comment was really unnecessary.

Putting most of your philosophy 101 talk, Ryan was criticized because his explanation was incredibly condescending. He didn't apologize at all for calling out a guy who he admits that he himself didn't even know anything about and instead doubled down on his comments.

How is it ignorant to criticize people for what they said? For example recently Sean Finnegan from IGN said on a podcast that PC couldn't record things like Xbox One. Obviously a lot of people took issue with this comment (because it isn't true) and today he apologized for it and said what you said - that he wasn't articulating his thought process well. And that's all well and good - all is forgiven.

The difference with this situation is that Ryan has had multiple opportunities to explain himself, articulate his thoughts, apologize for whatever was accidentally said during the podcast - but he didn't. He dug deeper.

The wine and cheese is a facetious comment but the Mixlr jab is a clear reference to Jeff.

Quite amazing that rooster teeth never thought to themselves "maybe this is a bit too sell-out" and if they did, they shrugged it off while playing with their $120 pip boys.

One thing I will never forget was a group of reviewers (not sure of what company) were given a huge swag bag of halo 3 merch for "review" and as they went through the bag pulling out the cat helmets and CE's they were as happy as the n64 kid at christmas because it was all given to them for free.

Gavin would never say such things. Gavin is an angel.

But pretty rude comments. I haven't read Jeff's review, but on the Bombcast he did say he spent like 40 hours with Fallout 4 and enjoyed it overall even though it didn't blow his mind. He's certainly not being contrarian for the sake of it. I don't agree with every review Gerstmann has put out, but you can disagree with someone's opinion without being a total idiot about it.

Ooh. Man. The last few comments are akin to if you're sitting at the dinner table at your friends house and his parents start having a heated argument.

I think that we need more reviews that focus on the technical side of things so that technical shortfalls aren't swept aside completely like in some reviews. If the cost of such reviews is a lower aggregate Metacritic score, what's the problem? I'd rather have all of the info out there to make a more informed decision than to go in with blind, untempered hype.
