Says a lot about the taste here in the western markets.
For one it makes it obvious that there's no ignorance or misunderstanding with the use of "SJW", and this site is specifically using it to get sales and promotion from GG.

We carefully orchestrated the poor sales of DOAX2 and began a covert campaign to infiltrate and destroy any confidence in the third entry ever performing well enough in the west to warrant a localization and release. Our plans were wildly successful. Bow down to your Social Justice overlords, world.
Lets be real the dolts that think this is about evil SjW already had that belief in them even before this shit happened, its always like this with them, at this point they are only venting because they know this is their safe space to do it. Yeah, a safe space, ironic, but self-awareness is one of the first things to be lost when go down that stupid road.

Most games don't appeal to the shooter/sports fans in the west, they buy a select amount of games every year, usually COD, FIFA and Madden, with the likes of GTA thrown in every few years, whilst ignoring everything else, so DOAX3 wouldn't exactly be alone in that regard lol
On the media aspect I'm not sure, DOA is already known as that series with the hot girls, it doesn't exactly hide it, so any backlash towards it would be limited I feel.

There's no one side or the other. There are people who truly believe both sides are total dicks. Just saying.
Just like DOAX1, DOAX2, and DOA Paradise that were released here? Just like DOA5/U/LR, which came out here and offers the same camera mode and sells lots of skimpy outfits too?

Just let devs make whatever games they want. If there's an audience, it should exist. There's no reason to fight to get it banned, even if you're offended by it.

But they never even mentioned or brought up GG. And the term SJW isn't a defined term. It has all sorts of meanings, some contradictory. The word shouldn't be end all or mean much if anything at all.

Even worse, it's a safe space divorced from reality. Just like the rest of the other bigot garbage like "where did all Sarkeesian's money go?", "professional victims", "unethical relationship by a female", etc. that constructs a reality to themselves that reinforces their worldview of other people as worthy of terrorism and harassment. Same tactic as Trump is doing these days with creating racist stories that everyone has to spend time trying to debunk.

Either way, the original claim that it is inappropriate to release DOAX3 "in 2015" is incredibly misguided, even if it was just masturbation aid.

My concern for how women are portrayed in media at large outstrips my concern for having mainstream products that combine masturbation with gameplay.

I was talking more about those feminists actually. I've also seen reviewers/media criticize sexiness in games as well and I would imagine that DOAX3 would be the epitome of it. Seems like developers are shying away from "sexy" female characters for the obvious reasons this generation and going for more "safe" designs. Not quite sure how something like DOAX3 would be received when a game like Dragon Crown got ridiculed quite a bit in it's early phases. Also, DOA5 is a fighting game while DOAX3 is a volleyball/X-treme game simulator with women in bikinis. I honestly don't think it will sell well at all in the West where violence is glorified to the highest magnitude and anything remotely "sexy" is immediately looked down upon and I am sure Tecmo knows this. That is most likely why they mentioned that if it comes to the US, it will have some modifications.

The controversy would earn them more sales. It did Dragon's Crown good, selling 1 million units worldwide propelling it to Vanillawares best selling game. A niche game would not have sold that well otherwise, as one of the last last gen games, weeks before the PS4 launched. I too would've skipped the game if there wasn't a squabble about its art style.

In Shinovi Versus you strip other girls naked by beating them. Did the western media care? So why would a game, where hot girls are having fun with each other, bother someone?
And anyway why can't we have porn games AND softcore playboy stuff with bikinis? Both genres exist in other media.

There isn't anything poorly designed about DC, and it shouldn't be lumped together with Hatred.

The fact that most wouldn't give a fuck (and in turn wouldn't buy it) is in fact the real reason they aren't releasing it in the west.
The notion that the decision to not do a western release was motivated by anything other than cost and projected sales is ludicrous considering the games that Tecmo Koei has published in the west.
You are assuming that Dragon's Crown sold well thanks to its "controversy". Where is the evidence for this? Could there be other factors for its sales?

Yeah. Probably one of the worst brawlers I've played last gen. Controls are stiff and moving from different planes in the battle maps are incredibly slow and tedious when you have to position yourself to attack properly for classes like Elf and Mage. The town system leads to a lot of pointless backtracking that could've been alleviated with a quick jump option as there is literally no need for a town. Combat is difficult to look at when the hit stop is so fucked. Item usage becomes incredibly tedious when you have to hold multiple buttons at once just to even use the quick-item feature. Level scaling is fucked and using the player AIs makes the game even more broken and nonsensical.
Why do I have to use the right stick to hover aimlessly across the map to find secrets with the stupid fairy? Why can't I use that stick to map special attacks? Why does the thief character move so slow to scavenge? Why doesn't the AI scale in difficulty outside of taking more damage? What's the point of the room ranking system? Just questionable and borderline dumb design choices riddled in that game.
It's a pretty game though I guess.

I bought Dragon's Crown day one because I love GrimGrimoire and I thought Odinsphere was ok at best. I also love Brawlers and hearing the Tower of Doom team was essentially doing this kind of game I was fucking STOKED because I love Tower of Doom.
I was underwhelmed. DC had a lot of design choices that annoyed me to no end. I consider it a poorly designed brawler.
