I like the lineup.I played King's Quest for a bit and seemed much better and interesting than Broken Age. Gauntlet is kinda meh, but a co-op game will be fun now in december with friends coming over and family.

I'm happy with this, don't own any of them. Been wanting Freedom Wars but never pulled the trigger on sales, glad I didn't now.

I'm at a point where booting up my PS3 is a chore. I'd installed SSX, probably play half an hour then get bored. Does it make a good first impression?
SSX is great if you guys haven't played it. It's got some shit levels, but the core gameplay is solid if you stick to the good levels.
Any specific recommendations of ones to avoid?
So bad.

Last good offering has been Rocket League, and that was July?
Does feel a little like the praise of that month went to their head and they took it easy for the rest of the year.

not great, especially for December when a lot of people subscribe

maybe that's the reason, they will get the users no matter what

Should be just the opposite. Most PS4s are bought in November / December. They should be putting their best foot forward for PS+ games during these months to maximize year long subscriptions after their free 2 week trial is done.

Have been signed up with PS+ since the very beginning and its a bummer to see the quality of games of the service go down even as subscriptions have drastically gone up.

Gauntlet seems to have gotten poor/average reviews but it looks like it could be kind of enjoyable. Anyone recommend it for two people who really loved the older Gauntlet titles to play through in local co-op?

I was really hoping December would be the month to get me to resubscribe, but those PS4 games are doing nothing for me. Maybe next month.

Now none of you have an excuse for not playing Freedom Wars, bar not owning a Vita/TV. GET ON IT!

SSX is pretty good too. Will redownload since my Xbox is packed away now.

Freedom Wars is good from a gameplay perspective. Kings Quest should be interesting and for those who haven't played that SSX game I loved it despite having a different tone from Tricky, but I love all SSX games.

I will agree though it is getting harder to defend Sony with these PS4 titles. I don't really care but give us some of those launch titles. Maybe they will add some at PSX?

Great month.

Always wanted kings quest but price was too high without a trial. Gauntlet will scratch that hack n slash itch.

Ps3 and vita is a brilliant lineup though.
No one sleep on Rocketbirds. Its fantastic.

Fuck yeah portable rocket birds <3
I love, LOVE it on PS3, vlbut would rather have it on the go!

I'm really interested in trying Kings Quest; does it have a satisfying end or does it leave you hanging?

How's Gauntlet? I love some co-op.

I'm glad I didn't get SSX when it was on sale. Now I'll be able to try it and still keep the 5 for the next time Catherine goes on sale =3

I'm still in awe!
I do not own any of those games and I have all 3 Sony consoles (4 with the Vita TV). This month is too good! I just have some questions:

The new King's Quest is not a point and click like the old one?
Is Freedom Wars Vita TV compatible?
Does Gauntlet have 4 player offline co-op?

Thanks.

Two years into PS+ for PS4 has been amazing bait and switch.

The service is still great for PS3 and PSV, though.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

I enjoyed it quite a bit. All four heroes play wildly differently and learning their unique style can be a harsh curve(which will turn off many), but once you get some upgrades and acclimate to the rhythm of each, perfecting levels and uncovering all secrets and such can get real enjoyable.

It does lack the goofy atmosphere and insane content of the awesome Midway PS2/GC era arcade reimagining(despite some humorous quips out of the heroes here and there), but its a solid co-op experience that takes some cues from the classic 80's Gauntlet and twists them into its own unique identity.

The patience to learning how to handle each hero will really end up the largest problem for most on initial play(expect GAF to bitch relentlessly next month with early impressions. I expect a bloodbath with a few motivated posters willing to give it a serious chance and come away feeling similar to me. Merely a good game at best)

Wow that's a genuinely terrible month imo. Not going to complain about the opportunity to try games I wouldn't otherwise experience every month, but there's no excuse not to give away at least one major retail release at this point.

Well fom all the game for Dec from XBL and PS+ the only I will bother with is Gauntlet. Love me some couch co-op with the kids.

That sounds cool, I can appreciate them having different playstyles since in the original games they were all pretty similar. Is there any character that's just objectively the worst and that you should avoid?

And I thought last month was bad. What an absolute joke. When the year of PS+ I bought runs out I'm just going to let it die. I'll just resub for a single month when Dark Souls 3 comes out. Cloud saves are nice but I'll just go back to backing up data to a USB stick.

Both SSX and Blood Dragon are games I wanted to play but never got around to buying, so those are great.

But PS4...I was expecting something more with the Holidays coming up, but nope, worse month than this one.

I canceled my ps+ 1 month ago, since the games didnt make me woo.
Another month and I feel the same, will sub again when the games I want comes.

Woof that PS4 showing. The first episode of Kings Quest? Isn't that going to go free at some point anyway, ala the TellTale and RE: Revelations model? Dang. And Gauntlet, a game that was all but forgotten about before it was even released.

PS3 is alright, SSX and Blood Dragon, not bad.

Freedom Wars I've heard good things about but I probably won't end up playing it.

Genuinely excited for my subscription to expire in December, when I can stop checking in each month only to be reminded that I paid $50 for a year of trash

Is Freedom Wars primarily a multi-player/online game or is it fun in single-player as well?

Only reason I'll resubscribe is probably for this game.
