Yup same goes for Gears. Things will be interesting. I think both will be able to beat Halo 5's debut numbers in the US.

Gears is in the same situation as God of War. The main conflict is finished and the last game didn't impress critics or buyers. I seriously doubt the game will outsell Halo 5.

Uncharted probably won't top Halo 5 either in the US but will outsell it easily WW.

It's a great series bundled with a great system at a great price. If Bloodborne hadn't come out earlier I would have waited for this deal. Not surprised it's selling very well!

Why same for Gears? For Uncharted it makes sense as a large portion of the PS4 userbase is poached 360 players who never experience the series. I would imagine that the people who are playing Gears on Xbox One are the same who played it on the 360.

Uncharted will easily debut at more than Halo 5 in the US. Gears I'm less certain about, but I don't think the success of a spinoff is an accurate way to gauge sales for a mainline game.

Well this is unexpected - especially considering their exclusivity of the Tomb Raider bundle. The NPD results for November are going to be real interesting.
It doesn't mean X1 didn't sell more overall sku at BB over black Friday (if I understand correctly). It simply means that the PS4 bundle sold better than any single X1 bundle on it's own, and XB1 had several bundles on sale at best buy such as the GoW, and TR bundle.

What this does mean though is that the $299 PS4 bundle has done very well, and could convince Sony to drop to that price permanently to $299 in the near future. Especially if sales don't carry a positive yoy trend after the holidays.

Here's an anecdote from a UK ecommerce/retailer (source: my place of work).

The PS4 uncharted collection (500Gb) + FIFA 16 was our top selling black friday deal, the xbox one did sell well also, but PS4 sold about 6 times more.

Take with pinch of salt as it's just a comment.
The fuck? In the UK?? Someone verify this man!!

These guys were spot on with their crowning last year. They said x1 outsold PS4 on black Friday and it was quickly dismissed by alot here, until NPD mimicked what infoscout projected based on receipts.

These guys are legit.

Even if they did have a 360 before it doesn't necessarily mean they've played Gears before. The series sold around 7 million or so for each title and there were 80+ million 360s sold.

I remember that thread. Some of us didn't want to believe the streak was over.

Yep, like the guy said in the other thread:
Depends. There were multiple bundles and this looks like it's just naming the individual item that made the most money. As a whole they might've added up differently.

As in, what if it was like this:

1. PS4 Uncharted 4 units
2. XB1 Gears 3 units
3. XB1 Fallout 2 units
4. XB1 Tomb Raider 0 units

Microsoft has thrown everything they can at the PlayStation 4, both this holiday and the last. Yet that gap versus the PS4 only seems to widen.

I'm seriously wondering if Microsoft decides to launch their next console sooner than expected, say....2017.
(Hey, the quick-launch was a success for the Xbox 360.)

It needs to actually be a good game too. We have no idea what kind of quality The Coalition will pump out. It's a huge question mark.

PS4 has the Battlefront bundle too so it's not just one against many.

I agree that's why I'm less certain about it, but beating Halo 5 number isn't particularly hard anyway tbh so that's why I'm still leaning that way. The last mainline Gears debuted at 2 million and Halo 5 debuted at 842k. It's definitely possible that it can sell less than Halo 5, but it would have to experience a massive decline in the same way that Halo did.

Uncharted 3 debuted at 838k including bundles.

Let's see. This is what some posters said about the PS4 bundle on announcement for Black Friday:

"Weak offer"
"Bad bundle IMO" "I just don´t think that´s the right bundle for Black Friday."
"Yep, very weak bundle."
" I also think it's kind of a weak bundle."
"This bundle is terrible for Black Friday."
"I still think this is kind of a weak bundle."

Of course the others that rightly called out that price trumps everything at Black Friday also exist.

Not a bad bundle for those who have yet to play the Uncharted games.

I was right.

Crazy talk. We're not even at the "slim" phase for these consoles yet.

But if MS doesn't even bother announcing a slimmer XB1, then yeah, let the speculation begin.

It sorta looks like they had the Bones out front, and all of the PS4s got sold out from behind, so they restacked the Bones so they weren't sitting in the "middle" of the aisle.

Yeah, the two photos have different XBOne SKUs stacked in the same place, so there's been some changes in the pile.
