I don't know what it is, but I just can't get excited about Jokerland.

I'm not much of a DC fan, but I do like the Batman sets, and I really like 6857 Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape, but something about Jokerland leaves me cold. Maybe its the lack of connectivity between the individual builds...

It hits a specific niche. It's a wonderful, I guess diorama that takes up alot of space. I don't want to say display piece because yes its very disjointed and it looks better when you set it up as a scene for your superhero figs. The batmobile in it is also aces as Burton era Batmobile and the figs are top notch. It is way to fragile to consider it a playset ironically as thats what its supposed to be. Along with the price I can see why its not popular with people and even though I love it i'm not going to push it on anyone because you either want it or you don't and having it isn't really going to change peoples mind in this instance.

Now Morro Dragon is a set I will push down throats with the fury of a cat on bath salts.

Galaxy Quest is a gem. I both want and don't want a sequel to it. And the part I posted the GIF of still makes me laugh each time I watch it. The sheer disdain in his face and voice for having to do a grand opening of an electronics store is hilarious

Now Morro Dragon is a set I will push down throats with the fury of a cat on bath salts.

And rightfully so. I still need Master Wu's Dragon.

And still needing to know if anyone wants the Raptor Escape sets I got yesterday.

I have the funhouse escape, so that's the only reason I want this set too. But only at a deep deep discount. It would probably look good next to the Mixer and Ferris Wheel too.

Nexo Knights is full of nice elements. Just opened Ultimate Clay and it's loaded with nice parts.

They have 4 of this uncommon part in the new color of light bluish grey: Plate, Round 1 x 1 with Open Stud
It's also in the Dimensions Portal set. I imagine we'll see it in a lot more sets. It will be very useful for greeble in this color.

I'm a fan of dark blue and other LEGO dark color versions. As far as I know this is the first we have of dark blue light saber hilts. I like that they have the A-wedge plate in dark bluish grey. I have a ton of them in black. Dark bluish grey will be more useful for me.

This photo is just of the parts that I found very interesting. There were a lot of other parts.

I still think $10 is a bit pricey, but if you actually play the video game, the price isn't too bad. I'll start buying duplicates of these sets if they hit 20% or more.

EDIT: Missing a 5th trans blue blade in the photo.

It's Galaxy Quest, a comedic parody of Star Trek.

Hey Phon, I literally laughed out loud when I saw your gif post! Love this movie. May have to pop in the dvd when I continue building Ken Rylo's shuttle tonight.

I also think that movie is one of the greatest parodies of all time. My wife knows almost nothing of Star Trek and still found it very funny. For trekkies like me, it's 10x funnier.

cant focus on the parts .all i can see are the two faces.. one angry.. one surprised!

It's too bad that disc shooter wasn't around for the TMNT theme. They could be shooting pizzas. Or was the piece around then?

Oh snap this is a fantastic idea. I have the Turtle Van from the movie in my backlog (thought it looked waaay better than the one from the Nick show) so now I totally wanna jam that shooter piece in there when I get around to building it.

My Target order for the Avenjet arrived today.

Pretty stoked to build it.
The "city chase" Quinjet II?

Bought it saturday (and I barely buy "normal" sets), I really enjoyed the build, and it's a damn fine model.

The only unfortunate thing was that the stickers were damaged inside the box... I can't apply half of them. Even if I'm not fond of stickers, that's still quite bad...

I don't understand why Vision's cape is enclosed in a box while stickers aren't, in fact.

How is the nexo Knights game?

My assistant manager was raving about it the other day. Said it was really cool how the shield pieces work, and was going off about how if you play while watching the show the game can like... I dunno I guess it uses the mic or something but it lets you use the same powers that they're using in the show? Sounded pretty cool and he was really into it so I'd say it's worth checking out.

This new set:

And sucks about the stickers. I hope the set still looks great even without the stickers.

I've had stickers that had come off the backing and were stuck to things inside the box. Even on SW stickers, LEGO sent replacements. But I have decided to not apply stickers any more, since discovering my 2012 X-Wing stickers are already turning to powder.

JANG reviews the Resistance Troop Transporter:

I don't have it yet, so I didn't realize how special it is. It may be somewhat of a sticker hell, but we might have our TIE Advanced Prototype for 2016.

Crap. I thought I'd be able to skip that one. Will wait for sale. Maybe kids won't be interested in it and it will have good sale prices.

I'm sold on it now after seeing all the details and hearing how a lot more advance techniques are used. Lots of greeble work and lots of very useful parts in light bley. Not really a display piece, but I would like to build it.

Bonus is it comes with General Organa and Akbar with a cup. "It's a frap!"

EDIT: I was expecting him to separate the left and right sides then reconnect them without the middle transport section.

What do you mean that it might be the TIE Advanced Prototype for 2016?

That thing really does look very impressive (through holy crap all those stickers).

The TIE AP is one of LEGO-GAF's favorite Star Wars sets of 2015. A satisfying build experience, and a great resulting model.

Ah I see, well guess I could agree with that.:p I think I still give the FO TIE Fighter the edge when it comes to the final results, but building the two sides around the cockpit of the Advanced Prototype and doing the finishing touches to that center part was really quite a joy.

Put Wall-E together tonight with both fixes that were sent. It was such a fun and charming build. It definitely had that Pixar charm going both during and after the build. He is so adorable and has so much character oozing from the model when done with all the expressions. I'm actually considering getting another one to hold on to sealed because I have a feeling this set is going to be highly in demand after it goes oop. It also has so many useful pieces for moc;ers.

sometimes, mini build day brings me life...

other times, a customer is in a bad mood because traffic was horrible for everyone and all day, people are coming in late, and there were some clerical issues to people who have confirmation emails weren't on the list. but that is another issue entirely.

anyway, a woman who i've seen before and was reasonable in the past, but today i assume the bad traffic has her mad and so we say to her that we've had some clerical errors, today, and lots of people have ended up late, and that we only need her to wait a few minutes more. she arrives while i'm in the middle of handling like 4-5 children, and my supervisor says that her child will get their turn after the next 5 i work with, because like i said, a lot of people ended up late.

she misunderstands, and thinks, "hey, this guy is working with 5 kids now, so i'm next" we try to correct her and ask for her patience, she says she is gonna contact Corporate, my supervisor does the whole, go ahead ma'am, my name is [insert name here], etc. so the minutes pass and we are bringing out our second table to help control the influx of families. woman finally gets her child to do the build, after a mere 5-10 minutes more of waiting.

some people man...

Got the Lego Star Wars: Small Scenes from a Galaxy photo book today.

Love it. Now I have the itch to start with some basic Lego photography myself, but I'll never be able to get stuff as awesome as this (don't have the material for it to start with, let alone the talent)

Didn't know about this - just ordered from Amazon. I've tried the odd spot of photography with Lego before but the lighting is really difficult. My guess would be you'd generally want smaller lights so you can play with drop off, and lots of modifiers to control spill. These days I expect you could do well with LED lights or torches, with cardboard for flagging/blocking the light. Literally making a tiny version of a continuous light studio. Also worth checking out product photography websites to look for lighting tips there - although they will generally want to light things brightly

Pick-A-Model. I heard the refresh in PAB wall was going to happen next week for PAM.

Dammit Jang! Went from 'no intrest' to must have now. Will have to wait till steep discount though. 80 euros is way out of line Lego!

I have my fingers crossed that there will be little interest in that set outside of hard core Star Wars fans and AFOLs which means good sale prices.

I hope so to. Problem is that over here there isn't such a big discount culture. Sure, toy shops and super markets shave some euro's of the RRP, but the real steep discounts are actually rare (I even think we have a law forbidding stores to sell stuff at a loss, except during two sale periods in january and june, to avoid big chains forcing smaller enterprises out of the market). The best toy prices are around november/december...

That said, I was able to grab Poe's X-Wing en SF Tie Fighter for at least 10 euros less then RRP (allthough it was november then), so my hope is the Resistance Troop Transport goes down to 65 to 70 in some stores in the next few months. And if that's not the case I might grab it on Amazon.de, as the RRP is lower there and they tend to discount too.

You've done it to me Lego Gaf. I think I'm all in on Nexo Knights. Just gonna grab the exclusives for now and wait for sales on the other ones

This was the one set of this next wave that really excited me prior to seeing the film. It has a very "traditional" SW / B-Wing vibe going for it.

I think I would be a lot more hot on it if I hadn't managed to split the cost of a BOGOF B-Wing earlier this year with a pal. It makes the £59.99 price kind of hard to swallow. I hope it happens for this set some time next year :p

Whoa - it's $89 CDN! I hadn't realized that. Thought for sure it would be $69...that's expensive.

Question - after seeing the film twice I don't remember those flip-down chin straps that all of the resistance figs seem to be sporting. Are the helmets in this set and the little battle pack accurate? I may just have missed it.
