Oh stop it. Doom fans are getting all of the fanfictions drawn out for them in the main universe. This entire event was just one huge Doctor Doom Wank.

What the hell are you talking about, as a Doom fanboy I assure you it was not Doom wank. Doom should've beaten down everyone, Reed and the "heroes" realize they were wrong and then Doom gives up his powers himself and sets things right.

Now that's Doom wank son.

I don't care about that prime universe stuff, call me when Doom is back in charge.

That last Secret Wars page hit me in the feels though.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
A Doom wank doesn't end with
Doom admitting that Reed would've done a better job, followed by Reed being the noble and greater man, and restoring his face.

Will this thing be released as a collection later on? I haven't bought single issue since I was a kid but on occasion grab a graphic novel.

Yeah. It looks like it will get a hardcover first (currently solicited for March), even though many tie-ins are being released as softcovers.

Can anyone explain the end with Tchalla and the spaceships?
Well...

To me it seemed that T'Challa will open up (to a certain degree) Wakanda's expertise to the world; one of the stories within New Avengers/Time Runs Out/Secret Wars was no matter what, Wakanda only looks out for Wakanda and nothing else. They don't need any help from others. T'Challa at one point does question his position and how his choices affect more than Wakanda, but his forfathers insist; "No matter what, you are the Black Panther and you will never let the golden city fall". But with the destruction of worlds and protecting their earth he gradually changes his stance. I think the destruction of his kingdom finally put things in perspective for him.

That's my guess anyway. And I guess that's the point of the spaceships; showing Wakanda isn't this closed kingdom, but more acessible. Seems to fit with the current theme of the Marvel universe with every hero going international or into space. Spider-Man and his Parker Industries, Iron Man International, characters going into space... essentialy, more than New York. I guess Panther will be the next to follow this trend.

1. How did
Old Man Logan, Regent and Maker
sneak though the ANAD?

2. So everything before EVERYTHING DIES never happens?

3. So do some remember the incursions and some don't or is that a incursion plot hole?
They bribed Molecule Man off page with a burger. Dude is easy

Squadron Supreme is super weird, because they're the originals from their various worlds, but there's been no explanation how they survived the reboot. But as far as Prime is concerned, the incursions seemingly didn't happen. They existed in 616 and happened, but they are not tangible to Prime. The first would've happened when T'Challa launched the rocket. It didn't, because there was nothing to incur.

I'm kinda hoping Squadron Supreme will explain what the fuck is going on there at some point, because as is it doesn't fit at all. Like at all.

I only read once so I'm not sure on a lot of things.

So the Sue and FF that were with Doom the whole time WERE the real ones after all? And they, plus Reed, T'Challa, Doom, and the two Spider-Men survived the whole ordeal and are the only survivors of the original universes? Everyone else is recreated by Franklin/Reed/Owen?

I feel dumb for not being able to figure this out on the first read but its really bugging me lol, still confused as to how the actual characters in ANAD came about, did Time Runs Out/Secret Wars just never happen in this new universe and they've always been there?

Maybe it will be explained by T'Challa at some point since he is fully aware of what happened from the beginning.

I was wondering about Miles. His inclusion into the prime universe makes me wonder if his "official" origins will be retconned. No Oz, no Ultimate Peter Parker dying, etc

Bendis said everything has still happened, nothing was retconned.

Ultimate End 5 Spoiler:
There's a reason he was so excited to see his mother in Ultimate End.

maybe the incursions did happen, just not at the rapid pace that they did before secret wars which gave them time for some bs plan to happen

Just a reminder that there's no need for using spoiler tags since it's been 24 hours since the finale's release, no more black/white bars for Secret Wars discussion in here.

I'm still surprised there was no appearance from the One Above All in this.
The lack of cosmic entities outside of the Beyonders themselves is pretty weird.

Not since the end of LOST has it been as satisfying to see a group of fans convince themselves a character was going to fix everything(Locke/Cyclops), only to be shown as inconsequential.

Maker gave him pizza.

Absolutely loved this series and this finale in particular.

Strange how in the course of half a year, we had the absolute worst interaction between Reed and Doom (Fant4astic) and the best one I've read in a long time (this). They need Hickman when they reboot the movie in 20 years.

I mean sure, that's fine (except The One Above All), but I would've thought we'd see something.

Hell I thought the Beyonders themselves would somehow come back in some form. This really didn't play out the way I expected, but I'm really glad that in the end,
it came down to a very personal confrontation between Reed and Victor.

That T'Challa and Doom fight was fucking great though.

Out of curiosity, how well does this new Secret Wars event hold up compared to the 80s one (the less said about the two Secret War sequels, the better)?

It's a much better story all around, though it loses points for not having a scene where Spider-Man solos the X-Men like the bitches they are.

It's less of "look how many characters we can throw into every page!!" And more of a crazy story that involves the entire Marvel omniverse, but focuses on a select few.

I also love how everything Hickman wrote up until now had a purpose.
Hell, he even tied the end of Secret Wars back to the beginning of his run of New Avengers.

Yeah, it was pretty impressive how he used every single one of those one-off story lines from the avengers run in TRO. The rogue planet, Thorr, etc

I've been working through Hickman's Avengers run, and I'm getting very close to Secret Wars. Are there any major storylines I should be following outside of New Avengers/Avengers? I'm reading in the MU app, and overall organization is dogshit. I wish they'd make master lists of chronological releases.

I think all of it is more enjoyable if you also read Hickman's Fantastic Four run but it's probably too late for that. You don't need to read anything other than Avengers/New Avengers/Infinty. You can skip any Infinity tie-ins.

Nope you don't need to read anything not written by Hickman.

You will get more out of the Secret Wars finale if you've read Hickman's FF run.

I regularly read comics back when his run started on FF..I think. But it's been a handful of years at least. I'll give that a whirl before I dig into Secret Wars.

Since I don't have time to do a full re-read just yet, I was skimming through some past issues. I think my favorite in the entire Hickman run was the New Avengers issue where the Illuminati confront that Great Society (Justice League) team on a parallel Earth. Everything about it was so great because by then we've had a dozen or so scenes in previous issues getting to know the GS team, and they're written so well you can't help but root for them. The Superman guy works so hard to keep his team's morale up despite the hopelessness of their situation, and Hickman shows their camaraderie perfectly. So when you realize the next incursion is going to pit the Illuminati against these guys, it just breaks your heart.

Things like that really elevated this entire run far above your standard comic book storyline, IMO.

So what was the effect of T'Challa holding on to that Infinity Stone

It somehow turned Wakanda into a spacefaring superpower in the Prime universe. No one knows what infinity stone that was, or what the effect was. it doesn't matter, only that "Alpha Flight" is now a wakandan entity focused on space exploration, instead of the D-list canadian avengers it was in 616.

Huh, I thought it will make him survive the reset with memory intact.

What's interesting about that is in the new Captain Marvel title by Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, Carol is the leader of Alpha Flight.

Face front, true believers! The Captain has made her return and oh, how mighty it is. It's a bold new frontier for Carol Danvers as she soars to new heights in her greatest mission yet—leader of the all-new Alpha Flight space program. Yup, Alpha Flight. As earth's first line of defense, Carol and her team aim to protect the planet from extraterrestrial threats. But can Carol be a soldier and a diplomat? Especially when an unknown enemy emerges that Carol can't quite punch.

Huh, I thought it will make him survive the reset with memory intact.

you didn't need the gem for that though. there are a LOT of people running around who remember prior events. Seems like "surviving battleworld" is really the only qualifier, since its unlikely MM would flat out murder everyone and replace them with duplicates.

Marvel stay trying to make Fetch happen with that one

Wakanda already had the best space program in 616. What's changed is the name and the purpose; It's not just for the good of Wakanda, but the good of humanity with Wakanda at the helm of it, blazing the trail.

Both T'Challa and Reed are doing things for the good of humanity, but with much more gunenuinely huminatarian intentions than before.

Edit: I do also have a hunch the Wakanda/Alpha Flight/Carol relationship is going to be echoed in the MCU.
