I don't understand how the ones doing the covers for the games are still so out of touch.

Everyone loved the original white background japanese cover , atleast they knew it with the US version (considering the US covers tends to be the ones that get most changed).

I'm doing my part for this game. I played it for a short while on Vita with PS+, but I think it will be more at home on PS4. I want this franchise to succeed.

UK seems to get the same art as Australia with the huge badge on the front.

Oh boy. Glad I got the Japanese retail version.

There are issues with the game that stem largely from its original scope that just feel more glaring on PS4. Still, they got so much right with the traversal system that I'm insanely hopeful that the console-first sequel will fix those concerns with the general barrenness of the world and extremely limited number of side missions.

The combat depth (or lack thereof) is being addressed from what I've seen, so I think it's reasonable to hope that the open world game parts of GR2 are of an appropriate scope for a PS4 title.

I mean, it's easy to overlook those things when just moving around is fun and combat is engaging in spite of its repetitive nature, but I love this character and her universe, so I really hope GR2 is the sequel Kat deserves.

I had already beaten this game on the Vita, but decided to pick this up because I enjoyed it and wanted to support the series. Popped it in last night and thought I'd only play for 20 minutes or so, and ended up playing for 2 hours. This game is so much better on PS4. My main complaint with it on the Vita was how cramped it all felt, and I always felt like I was fighting against the controls. Somehow now it just all makes so much more sense, and I'm flying around with a lot more precision than I ever did. Will probably spend the weekend getting the platinum for it now before Firewatch comes out.

Well, Amazon UK just told me they're gonna need more time to give me a delivery estimate despite me pre-ordering more than a month ago. Despite promising a release date delivery, it's looking unlikely.

I am enjoying this again. I forgot how unwieldly the controls were on the Vita version.

I agree that the world is pretty barren but I hope that they flesh it out a bit more on the sequel.

It really doesn't look bad though for a Vita port.

I am loving this game! I had it on Vita with PS Plus and I got far but I never beat it. It's better than I remember and the controls are vastly improved.

Idk with PS Plus games, no matter how good they are, I just don't feel invested because I didn't pay for them. Then again I don't beat every game I buy. Lol

Finally played a couple hours of story and I'm actually a little surprise by Kat; typically I find the quirky anime girl archetype more annoying than anything else but she's a legitimately charming & funny character and I'm already invested in her story.

The lack of a difficulty setting and the general malaise of the enemies makes sense with this being designed with motion controls in mind , but yeah, the combat is pretty bare bones. Still, the vericality and topsy-turvyness of the core mechanics keeps it entertaining despite fighting cupcakes.

Yeah likewise. Seems like the game wasn't exactly produced in high numbers.

Same here. Kat makes me laugh regularly. Combat is definitely the low point but it's so fun to float around.

Damn that sucks. Makes me glad I switched my pre-order from Amazon to Shopto about a week ago. Only did it for the day earlier delivery.

Yeah, Kat is legitimately endearing and a fantastic character. Maybe my favorite new female character in the last five years, though Ellie (TLoU) probably eeks it out.

The combat is enjoyable enough in spite of its simplicity, but that has more to do with the traversal than any actual mechanics tied to combat. The soft lock on makes it not frustrating, at least, and the optional superbosses illustrate that combat can be difficult in the system and they just elected for accessibility. Again, high hopes for GR2 to make good of the potential scraped here.

Looking at this GR2 footage the basic combo looks the same but the new gravity styles look like they could change things up a lot and make combat more interesting/fun.

Hopefully Sony gives GR2 stage time at their E3 conference this year (and I think they will) to give this IP a big push.

lmao I don't know wtf I'm doing with the gravity thing but I just made a grandma fly over with it, It was awesome.

Barely started but the girl seems cool and the cat is a badass (killed that arm thing)

I never even knew Kat did an auto kick when you approach an enemy with the slide since I never slid in the Vita version.

The better controls really make a world of difference here.

The kick from the slide is actually really strong. You can one hit kill most of the standard enemies by doing the slide kick. That was one of my bread and butter moves when doing time attack challenges that require you to kill as many enemies as possible.

I never had a problem with the controls on the Vita (by the end of the game, I was a Gravity Rush master when it came to controlling Kat), but yeah, the PS4 controls are doing the game a lot of favors. It no doubt controls better, especially the gravity slide.

While flying through the city I sent a random dude to his death throwing him to the bottomless pit...

... It wont affect my reputation, right?

Got it yesterday. Nice to play my favourite Vita game on PS4 now with improved controls and on a big screen. Game looks stunning. Just goes to show how much of a technical marvel the original game on Vita was. Imo, it was Vita's secret killer app.

This is definitely one of the best remasters I've played yet. Bluepoint on point yet again, if any of those guys from there are checking this topic, bravo, this is amazing.

Took Amazon 10 days to ship my pre-ordered copy of FF Explorers, and my copy of Gravity Rush came with a damaged case. Yup, I think i'm done with Amazon after 8 or so years.

I got my copy today. I have played until I gathered an old chair, and old desk, and an old bed. Now my new "home" is completed.

Getting the skills to control gravity will take time. Quite challenging. I'm liking it. I will try some additional mission instead of doing the main quests all the time.

In the end, it was worth waiting rather than buying a Vita only for this game and Persona 4 Golden. If they brought as a remasterization of P4G to PS4, that would make the wait for P5 even more entertaining, haha.

Just started this game this evening. The art style is amazing! Really enjoying the visuals and the gravity mechanic is pretty interesting. Loving the music as well. Glad I picked this one up!

I've been meaning to ask.... Is there any way to quit out of a challenge race after starting it other than to finish it? Sometimes I get a bad start and it's really fucking aggravating to have to go through the entire thing when you're going to need to re-do it anyway.

Loving the game so far, but WHAT is with the stasis field? It's horrible, I only seem to grab things half the time even if I'm RIGHT on top them. Insanely frustrating in combat for some of these challenges.

I can't remember how you choose between the two jumping kicks. It might just be how quickly you tap SQUARE after jumping.

One's like a normal flying kick with horizontal motion.
The other, Kat drops downward on the spot and it might be more powerful.

For the downward kick, you gotta tap square like as soon as Kat jumps.

Pause and press R1 through to the missions page and you can cancel the current mission from there. There's no way to instantly restart though unfortunately.

Although to be fair on the stupid Air Race Challenge i thought i got off to a HORRENDOUS start and i missed about 3 checkpoints in a row but i carried on anyway and somehow managed to gold medal it xD

Have you upgraded it? Are you holding down O to increase its power?

Started my play through tonight and I forgot how frustrating the first 10 or 15 minutes is. Overly forceful tutorial-ness characters popping up one after another. Feels claustrophobic a little. Still, it's over soon enough and you can just play. Had fun flying around and getting used to the controls and collecting enough gems to seriously upgrade my powers before I really get into the game.

I think one trick missed in the game that is unnecessary is really the time limit to using your abilities. Game would be so cool if you could constantly use gravity and never fall and wait to recharge.

My copy just arrived from amazon, and I think it's a dud. The splash screen loads up then it just keeps spinning up my drive, stopping it, and spinning it up again and never goes anywhere after the loading screen. I've never seen this happen before.

Breaking my heart here Sony. I don't want to have to send it back.
