Project x Zone 2 English demo to be out in Jan 21st

There's a free DLC item pack to download once you finish the prologue

I'm aware. Haven't bothered to download it, because why? On that note, all the equipment gotten by the demo and the preorder DLC is fucking stupid powerful compared to the other stuff you have access to at the beginning of the game. The challenge map that came with the preorder set is doubly devious: not only does it give you incredibly powerful armor for beating it, but it can be replayed, allowing you to theoretically grind up units. (not very FAR, mind, since the enemies in that map are like, level 2, but the experience you get from the map totally carries over.)

Methinks balance and difficulty are not priorities this game has.

On another note, I noticed in the Add-On Content menu there was an option to trigger Advanced and SP Advanced mode, the former of which is locked and requires game completion to unlock, and the latter of which requires to be bought. I read the description to SP Advanced mode closely, and in all honesty it seems like Advanced mode but easier, which seems to defeat the point, imo... unless it's actually a HARDER Advanced mode even WITH the bonuses...

Downloaded the game when it hit the eshop at 11 and been playing it. Got my physical copy from GameStop a couple of hours ago.

Excuse the terrible quality, my phone is garbage. But in case you can't tell what the games are:
Namco X Capcom
Endless Frontier
Endless Frontier EXCEED
EXCEED special edition above
Project X Zone special edition (JP)
Project X Zone limited edition
Project X Zone 2: Brave New World Original Game Sound Edition
Project X Zone 2

3DS theme downloaded. In case anyone's wondering, the BGM is "New World Project", & selecting a game is the level up jingle.

Wish we had gotten the Reiji & Xiaomu theme. Plays Reiji's theme with Sheath, Saya, Reiji, and Xiaomu sprites on the bottom screen with voice clips with every screen change.

Enemy stats stop increasing past the 10th clear. I tried to gun for completion 11 and noticed absolutely no difference in the levels of enemies in Chapter 2, so its safe to say the cutoff is there.
That's quite alot of full playthroughs needed if some crazy person wanted ta jot down the stats for each baddie across all difficulties @_@;

Do ya know if the dlc items exclusive or things ya can get later on in the game? I'd just not use 'em until they until around the time similarly powered things could be found in the field/shop.

crazy people like me

But no, I don't think that'll be necessary because A) the increase in power is purely linear from demo play to demo play, i.e. enemies always grow like 1 to 2 levels each clear. But more importantly, B) considering the Advanced mode option visible in the AOC menu, I don't think that there's a Dark Souls-esque NG++++++ and so on pattern going on.

As for the DLC items, I can't IMMEDIATELY say whether they're available later in the game for CERTAIN, but my guess is "no", since they can't be sold in the shop. In other words, they're yours forever, and you can't lose them. I'm not sure if this applies to the demo completion items, though.

EDIT: Just checked the demo items. They CAN be sold, and for an ENORMOUS amount of cash, which implies that they ARE obtainable later on in the game. On that note, holy shit I forgot to mention I came out of Chapter 1 with 36k in gold. This leads me to believe that unlike the first PXZ, items (and gold here, I guess) ARE accumulated across the prologues, when back then the prologues were purely formalities and had no gameplay effect on characters later on in the game.

Does this game care about it's story/narrative? I only played a bit of the original but it was all over the place and clearly narrative wasn't a priority. I get it I guess, with that many characters from all kinds of universes it's hard to create something cohesive.

It seems a little more focused this time and the script is more flavorful than the original, which felt a bit google translated imo

Man, still in the prologue, but the music quality is SOOOOOOO much better this time around. Everything doesn't sound like a MIDI file.

Also, I like the (sort of) explanation as to why Ogami now teams up with Erica instead of Sakura this time around. Wonder if they'll do that for other units who had their teams switched up.

Far as I can tell, there's no real explanation so far as to why that's the case with the RoF team.

And yes, the music is fucking fantastic. So good that it's trying to collapse my 3DS's garbage speakers.

Oh snap, on the final prologue stage & I discover another cameo from
FE Awakening
with Valkyrie talking to
Tiki
.

Kind of glad I didn't try to spoil a ton of stuff this time around like I did with the last game.

Edit: oh my god, Sheath is just amazing to listen to. I laughed harder than I should when she started swearing in English. Xiaomu's response is even better. "mangled Japanese she picked up on the internet...yup, screams "USA" all right."

Edit 2: "It's like a boring loading screen. Hey, why don't more games have minigames on the loading screen?" OH, NAMCO, YOU'RE JUST....YOU'RE SO SILLY.
