Randy Pitchford: I agree with [EGM] that Aliens: Colonial Marines was a 9/10

Wait, he says he wouldn't ever want to throw any of the developers of Aliens under the bus... I'm a little foggy, but I thought they blamed their third party developer?

Also, listening to it now, he does say EGM.

OP is drunk.

Also made Timegate disappear.

Section 8: Prejudice had too many ideas which could be a good game if given another try, so Randy had to find a way to make them disappear aswell.

I fucking Loved Section 8: Prejudice. I'm still really sad about that and it's ties to GFWL killed the PC community. :(

I would buy a third game.

I really hope for his own sake he is just trying to troll people. This is becoming really sad otherwise. I mean, even PR logic doesn't make any sense here, you don't keep mentioning the thing everyone is pissed of about and keep spinning it in the most obvious way.

There was that one time when he did that whole steamboat story to explain Gearbox's name, and didn't tell the interviewer that it was a joke. It kind of makes you wonder what's going on in his head. What did he stand to gain from that?

This reminds me what a joke that EGM review was. It was so blatently bought. It had fucking PR copy pasted into it practically.

While he was technically a freelancer, they refused to work with that reviewer again.

Anyway, stay delusional randy

The problem is the score mostly, there are many times the guy complains, but let's the downsides slide.

While the action falls a bit short of the blend of first-person shooter and survival-horror I was hoping for, it’s all fairly well paced—thanks largely to some excellent level design and solid alien AI.

The visuals are subpar in places, but...

While the core Soldier Xenos should probably figure out that ramming bullets with their face isn’t the best strategy, Gearbox’s other baddies offer up a great deal of variety.

Sure, you’ve got some definite dents in the hull here—such as the occasionally oblivious squadmate AI, the training-wheel cover system, and the woefully heinous cinematics—but the hits far outweigh the misfires.

Also, love this end part:
Aliens: Colonial Marines is available on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U. Primary version reviewed was for Xbox 360.

That downgrade was more than the usual preview downgrade. Stuff was just not there.

Like working AI.

I can't remember the last time I was that disappointed with what should have been a straight forward game (I loved AVP 1/2/3).

I also can't remember the last time one of these guys defended something so much. Holy cow.

Legit makes me sad they own the Duke Nukem IP, among others :/

He's a compulsive liar, it's no surprise that he lies to himself as well.

IMO the industry should treat him like a laughing stock after what he did and the lies that he continues to tell. It amazes me that anybody takes him seriously anymore, it's like most of the industry completely forgot Colonial Marines ever happened.

And because it's not said nearly enough: Thank god for Alien Isolation and Creative Assembly, I literally just finished it again and it's a masterpiece.

Not sure if it is a coincidence but that seems to be Brandon Justice's last review for EGM. He probably got a job at gearbox for that review.

Randy and Peter Molyneux should work on a game together.

Maybe their combined lies will allow them to steal fans money.

I wonder if he's just sticking up for his team, you know? Randy looking stupid and defending this game takes the heat off the devs. Instead of being a Gearbox thing, it's a "Randy Pitchford is a moron" thing.

edit: he even says as much in the interview. "I'm not gonna throw them [the Aliens team] under the bus."

I can't be the only one who suspects that Randy has a cocaine addiction, right?

Watching his interviews, I always felt he must be into some hard drugs.

He does it to himself let it go! Nobody cares anymore than here he comes spewing his bs every so often.

I think he's just trying to wind people up by essentially bragging that he got away with it (Jim Sterling for example).

Gearbox didn't even make it (apparently).

Brandon Justice's other Noteworthy scores at EGM:

Dead Island: 9.5

NFS: The Run: 9.0

Borderlands 2: 9.5

Far Cry 3: 10

Halo: CEA: 8.5

Halo 4: 7.0

...some of these scores are also highly debatable...

His companies best game (borderlands ) was also a concept stolen from other people's work (well art style / characters ), so it's no surprise he tries To defend his turd .

His next game will bomb also (battleborne) so I'm sure he already has a list of excuses to defend that as well .

Approriate.

I'm one of the few to actually like the game despite A LOT of the shit surrounding it, and Pitchford (opinions, I know). With Randy, it's been comical since the release, and I don't know, it feels like this is a new level of hilarity to me.
