So many of you forgetting that they are shipping a full and new CoD game this year and this remaster is only the icing on the cake. Of course they are not spending all of their ressources on a remaster, when they will have a brand new CoD game this year.
These "Only 10 maps" posts are so laughable.

Why would they phrase it that way? I guess "Contains 10 MP maps from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game" implies they might have new maps also, and more than 10 total? They also don't refer to it by its full title, "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare", but maybe it's because they're trying to get away from numbering the franchise.

I mean, we know nothing yet, but I'm pretty sure comparing Halo 2 Anniversary to Modern Warfare Remastered is gonna be an apples and oranges kind of thing.
But without the only it implies that their might be more than just 10 maps total.

as I said before. A good marketing campaign would just say something like:
"contains 10 mp maps from the original game"
notice it says the same.. just without ONLY,.,.

With Halo 2 they remastered the campaign and did a Halo 2 Anniversary MP. Both with new graphics etc...

It's a footnote, not part of the marketing speak. It still is odd, but its not like its proudly displayed
They rebuilt the H2:A MP is a new engine though, not just the old engine with better assets like the campaign (doesn't make a difference to me, H2A campaign looked and played great anyway). We don't know if Activision is doing the same with COD4, there are varying degrees of "remaster" quality. 10 maps is still nothing to scoff at, I agree with you there.

There will be a Season Pass for IW. But i doubt that Remaster will see any more maps.
Only 10 maps from the original game? So there might be more maps not from the original game!

If there is a heap of people who will buy it only for CoD4, it wouldnt shock me if they have a even more expencive season pass and have it for both games to get people to play the new one at times.

They shouldn't use "only". "Game contains 10 maps" should be enough for people to understand that the game contains 10 maps. Using the word "only" makes it sound like a smaller number than what it is.
Selling half of the maps upfront does give them the opportunity to sell the other half...

It's probably just a legalese thing. They can't claim it's a full remaster, and putting "only" probably just covers their backs legally.

Reasons for cuts: Bog snowballs super hard once players starting getting airstrikes - anyone spawning out in the field has no chance. Countdown's open layout makes it 3x frag city. Downpour was always a bit chaotic with the constant rain. Showdown only really played well in TDM imo, could kinda be a mess in other modes. Wet Work often came to total standoffs since it was so hard to move on it.

I'm sure they will sell is separately as well, although that may wait until after Christmas or something to allow Infinite Warfare (just realised how close this sounds to Infinity Ward) some time to shine first. I would not be surprised if it's digital only if sold standalone.
