Zelda Wii U no longer coming march 2017?

If people get what they want (great specs) it's going to cost closer to a Playstation or Xbox than what they're used to paying for Nintendo systems. I guess my question is, would people ask for very powerful hardware, which they are, but then scoff at a higher price?

Of course they will.

It's 2.7MB vs the 16.8MB shown on the press page above.

So they're highlighting the Wii U version as their only playable game at E3 only to cancel that version of the game they've said is a Wii U game over and over???

That will be an NX version. Also why would they highlight in E3 a game that is coming a year later? Might as well wait till next E3

Would Nintendo really fuck over the few people who supported them this gen?

the Wii U version will be out at the same time, i dont think Nintendo is that evil.

its the only version they will show for now. but who knows about the release date...

I'd really laugh if it came out in like September or November for wii u and made the March/April launch for NX

What a huge slap in the face the NX version releases before the wii u version

I still have NX releasing during the holidays of 2017

"We meant to say we would reveal NX during March 2017, not release the system" , boom

just a misunderstanding, they didn't announce a month in the earnings release. Wait for e3 to see when it will release. It will most likely launch alongside nx, that's for sure

They never said, by official channels, it was going to be March 2017. Just 2017. So, what happened is that the press site put "March 2017" by error, and then it was edited into "2017" since that's the info released by official Nintendo channels to the press.

Also, the hyperboles already in this thread (like "Don't believe Nintendo anymore" and "NX is gonna be Holiday 2017, it'll never it March") are downright histerical and they literally hurt my brain, sorry. There is criticism, there is pessimism, and there is cosmic, insane, brain-damaging, flat out Asylum-worthy mass histeria.

More power to u. I just can't do it. Wi U owners were screwed this gen period

Why wouldn't you want to buy the games you don't like? It wouldn't make sense to buy a PS4 to "support" Sony just because they're treating the fans "right" even if you weren't interested in any games they had.

Were the crazy pessimists even humoring the idea that the NX would be revealed after E3, that it was a aiming for a 2017 launch, or that Zelda was going to be delayed. I mean, at what point are they vindicated?

Why do gamers spend money on Nintendo?

Makes no sense

Spending money on games we enjoy doesn't make sense? We're allowed to bitch and moan when stuff gets delayed, but an enjoyable game is enjoyable regardless of the delay.

More power to u. I just can't do it. Wi U owners were screwed this gen period

Only screwed if you bought the Wii U solely for Zelda. Nintendo put out plenty of excellent games.

There's plenty of great and amazing games on the Wii U. I was expecting great Nintendo experiences and I got a fair share of it.

Games are delayed all the time. This gen almost every single AAA title has been delayed. Uncharted has been delayed, Star Fox, Batman and even The Last Guardian was delayed a whole console.

I'm guessing it'll be a TP situation where the Wii U version comes out after the NX one. It makes sense because with TP even though the Gamecube version didn't sell very well iirc, the Wii version did and it likely incentivized Wii launch day ownership. The hype for that game was through the roof and a lot of people wanted to get their hands on it as soon as they could.

I'd be fine if the game was delayed to Fall 2017 as well, though I doubt that'll be the case. If NX itself is delayed (which I also doubt) then I don't even know, though....

NX probably is not coming in March either.

The probably said March (internally probably March 31st) to signal the Investor they are releasing within FY16.

But the whole time that was a honeypot date, to get them off their backs

Man I hope it still is. I know Zelda 3D games have a long standing tradition of delays but isn't this even more than usual?

I paid $300 for a console with several of this gen's best games on it. Can't say I'm all that angry about it.

Seriously, between 3D World, Windwaker, Splatoon, Bayonetta 2, Mario Maker, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, and Shovel Knight - I got more than my money's worth outta the damn thing.

Would I have preferred more third party support without the final content drought? Of course. But I trust Nintendo to keep churning out gems, so I'll buy an NX.

Maybe just not at launch.

If they do push the NX back again (I wouldn't be surprised), they'd surely have to release Zelda U earlier than Zelda NX as the Wii U would have literally nothing going for it.

There's so much wrapped up on the timing of the NX..

I don't believe any of Nintendo's dates at this point. After being promised zelda in 2015, then again in 2016 and now in 2017, I'll believe it when I see it. Since the NX version is likely the one that will be released first, we have another complication. If NX slips Zelda will follow. Kimishima suggested that launch games aren't but will they be ready in 8-9 months? If not, and NX turns into a holiday-2017 machine, it'll be funny gettting a major Wii U game in almost 2018 after the console has been left to die for a year and a half! Now that would be a swansong.

It's obviously being delayed cause no voice actor is brave enough to voice link without being attack by fans.

Jk

but still imagine if Link ever talks, no matter how good it is, riots in the Internet would occur.

Surprised this is still going a day later even though it's been said multiple times that March was never officially given as a date. The month even being there to begin with was likely an error, and it's entirely plausible it will be coming in March, they just removed it since they weren't yet ready to commit to that date (either to be safe, or for promotional purposes, i.e. E3). Making a 7-page deal out of something that's entirely meaningless.

Calling my shot:

Zelda NX: June 2017
Zelda Wii U: October 2017

I think it's crucial for Zelda to be ready by the NX launch, but i wouldn't be surprised if nintendo pull a twilight princess and release Zelda NX earlier than the wii u version to incite impatient players to cave in for an NX at launch.

Do you see the NX being able to compete with a $300 Ps4, or to lesser degree XB1? Pretty sure Nintendo knows they can't come in at a price above the consoles firmly entrenched in this gen. Beyond diehards, I expect there to be a good bit of 'wait and see' for those that never bought into the Wii U, or those that did and feel underwhelmed by it.

It's been said so many times already, but Nintendo never said it was coming in March and loads of people tried to point that out to those (somehow) confused at the time

They said it was coming 2017 and would be playable at e3 2016. That's it.

The press site then added a date of 'March 2017' with no other confirmation from Nintendo, but it has now been amended to correctly say "2017" as confirmed in their Financial briefing.

Thread title should be changed to "Zelda WiiU was never confirmed for March 2017".

That being said: I fully expect them to get it ready for NX launch in March, cos that is a target they would be insane to miss.

Yes. It is the 16.8MB file optimized. I use Abload.de for hosting at that does not accept files that big.
