Watch Dogs 2 box art and details

Like I said in another thread, we now have three big games launching this year with Black guys on the cover:

Battlefield 1
Watch Dogs 2
Mafia 3

It's pretty cool to see......even though they all have guns in their hands but I'll overlook it. Next I hope we get a Indian guy in a futuristic cyberpunk game.

That'd be nice, but I'm going to keep my expectations in-check. We probably won't see a south asian or middle-eastern lead in a AAA game for a looooong time at this point. I still am at the point of being shocked when we're not either terrorists, or inconsequential token minority with maybe two lines.

Whilst the gameplay itself actually looks pretty fun and the graphics look pretty good (though after the first game I'm not fully trusting what I see, despite seeing some convincing imperfections) just...crinnnnnnggeeee at everything else

Despite this, I have to agree with some of the people on here, the outfits aren't really the issue. Though they certainly aren't my taste, spiky jacket guy aside, they're dressed fairly normally, albeit in the 'look at me!' teenage kind of way

The real kicker is you only have one option!

Jesus Christ, I don't want to play as any of them.
This is so ridiculously far from what I call cool.

I can already imagine the hip and quirky pseudo-cool dialogues
from the main cast ten years younger than myself.

I dont know what a hipster is and I don't know what a douchbag is. The amount of shitting on people for the way they look or dress in these threads is really disturbing. It's real teenage insults level stuff.

It's really not disturbing though.
Those are all dated looks predominately worn by teenagers to fit their crowd.
Do you still see anyone wearing their emo outfits?

There's nothing wrong with anyone having their own look,
but I can't really relate to a main character who looks like he just robbed a scuba diving homeless shelter.

That's what I was saying earlier. I dont remember anyone saying this about Fetch and Delsin?

I'm pretty sure I'm in. I really enjoyed the first game, even with some of it's issues (I didn't even hate Aiden - I was just sort of apathetic towards the character).

Will wait and see how this one turns out, but I'm personally liking what I see.

Y'all said Aiden was a boring white man. Careful what you wish for.

This dude already has more personality than him so it's an upgrade.

Finally got to see the whole trailer. I'm not expecting GOTY but it should be solid and better than the first so I'm looking forward to it, and I wasn't even interested before today.

Am I the only one that isn't a huge fan of the bullshots in the OP? They keeping the bar low to avoid another downgrade keefuffle?

Oh, and katarl

Let's be honest people. The reason the characters look the way they do is simply from design by committee, wanting fans to cosplay and also the ability to sell merch on the UbiShop.

At least those don't look like bullshots.

And yet it will turn out they were.
Doesn't look bad tbh, and the concept always had potential.

I can't quite wrap my head around watch dogs 2 being revealed in June and releasing in November: the first one took ages and by the time it released a lot of people were already burned out from ubi constantly trying to shove it down our throats.

I know its not a popular stance around here but even with its flaws I really enjoyed the first game so I am all in on WD2.

The main issue with this style change is that they are trying to make hacking "cool". It is never cool, it is boring and takes ages and a lot of research. Making this like a Anonymous style where kids hack is so out of touch with everything.

Not going for a Person of Interest kind of angel is such a lost opportunity. Having older main characters gives you a much more choices in back stories etc.

Some of you are pretty hung up about the way Marcus looks, so it might be worth noting that you can change the way he dresses. Some of you might prefer a more toned down look, so...

Here's another outfit from the game:

EDIT: Honestly, this look is really boring. I much prefer the clothes they've shown him off in.

Wasn't a fan of the first Watch Dogs but I'm keeping an eye on this one. Colorful visuals, co-op and roaming around Silicon Valley interest me quite a bit.

So the protagonist is pinned a crime that he didn't commit... so now he goes around town being an asshole to society with his hacking tools and heavy weaponry?

Curious how 'non lethal' you can get in this game. Let's just hope you have more than a tazer as an option while you have 2 dozen lethal options.

This actually look pretty fun and also pretty fast. I mean it looks like there are actually fun toys to play with which is pretty unusual for a Ubisoft game (even though they'd like to say that every time).
I guess it all depends now on if I have to play 25h before I get to unlock the first of them or not. Because yes Ubisoft tends to have this sickness (mainly with AC).

Also parkour looked faster and less sluggish than AC.

Also I like that there's a taser, but I don't really trust them to make a game where all encounters can be resolved non-lethally (they love their "BIG ARMORED ARCHETYPE" that they use to make you buy their "BIG ARMORED ARCHETYPE TAKEDOWN" skill that costs 75 points and requires you to do 7 unrelated chess minigames to unlock).

I'll probably end up playing it to see, I just hope it's not too ruined by the classic AC pitfalls in terms of structure/progression.

Edit : and good lord, "you are in ctrl", oh wow.

I don't know but it's like the developers are out of touch. Feels like the people who made this game, or had the idea for this type of aesthetic, were teens during the whole 90s "cool dude yeah this is rad bro awesome man" era. I was a kid then in elementary and looking back at it, nah. Just seems forced like they want it to be that type of "cool rad awesome" thing but it's not working out well.

I'm sure if you ask a teen these days what fits the same "feeling" as that era to them they'd point to a different style and look.

Much better. Just remove the "iconic" hat, scarf and glasses and we're done.

Watch_Dogs meets Infamous SS/GTA SA/Saint's Row.

Right when I thought that WDs' protagonists can't be anymore dull than Aiden.

PLEASE, not be the case

I'm thinking they have a pretty good idea and aren't out of touch at all.
