BioShock: The Collection - Announcement Trailer

Day 1, the extra 20% off with Amazon really makes this one hell of a deal. I only played a few hours of 1 and 2, but I did finish Infinite and my wife and I loved it.

So PC pretty much gets the Bioshock Collection for less than $10 if you buy it during the Steam sale right now. What a win.

Also, the game that needs the most work is the first Bioshock. In addition to the new textures and high resolutions and all that, they need to add:

- All the PS3 exclusive DLC
- Steam Achievements
- Steam Cloud support
- Polish up the controller support.
- Address the 30 fps physics.

For Bioshock 2:
- Fix the vending machine sounds

And that's it as far as I'm aware.

EDIT: Oh yes, if possible, an FOV option would be nice!

In-fact reading their announcement on steam it says if you have Bios hock1 and Bio schok 2 and/or Minerva's Den you get the upgrade free after release. That and/or may mean you only need Den or Bio Shock 2. Not both, but I got them both anyways.

You can't buy Minerva's Den without owning Bio2 and 2K's announcement on the Steam Community forum lists MD as a feature of Bio2 Redux, so, yeah, Bio2 itself is all you need for Bio2 Redux.

Awesome. Wonder how it'll look on Neo. Anyway, lots of games for me to chose from this Black Friday. Hopefully there's a good sale on this.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
OK the only question now is if all 3 games and DLC are on a single disc with no download codes involved because otherwise just like Dead Island I won't be buying this collection.

Bought Bioshock 2 + Minerva's Den for this.
Don't know if it's necessary to have the three games to be eligible to the updated version but I plan to play it anyway.

And of course steam trading cards. Free, no, even you will earn money from that. :)

This will be awesome!

Yup. The combat is so good compared to the first one and infinite.

Cosigned! Much better combat, moral choices that actually have some consequences, far more gameplay choices outside of direct combat - planning traps etc. Great characters as well.

It's big problem was it started very slow and I think that put a lot of people off, but it really found it's feet in Pauper's Drop, then pacing from then on was outstanding. Siren's Alley is my favourite Bioshock level.

Heh 2 is my favourite too. I can never comprehend why so many seem to hate it, to the point of denying its existence.

Not 0% chance but EA have said they don't see the point in releasing remasters so it's unlikely.

I'm really surprised that EA's leaving money on the table like that. I mean, it'd sell decently well, and unless the try to redo the whole thing in Frostbite it wouldn't be that expensive to make.

Oh well.

Bioshock 2. Now... This is easier. The gameplay is FAR better (smoother and more streamlined). No point to argue. But, by the time you hit Bioshock 2, you are sick and tired of Bioshock visual and levels. And Bioshock 2 adds NOTHING to renew the environement. It's the same (not really but everything looks exactly the same) with a much better gameplay. Also, the story is... Nonsensical. It litteraly invalidates the best part of the original game's narrative. It's very confusing for fans and it's a backstab to the only good thing they remember about the original at this point. Skip Bioshock 2 or play it VERY spaced out after Bioshock to have forgot the story details and the environments. Minerva's Den DLC is amazing thought. You can basicaly play only this.

STRONGLY beg to differ on your view of Bioshock 2's story. It lacks the high-falutin' themes of the original and insteads focusses on one theme - What do we teach our children by our actions? What does it mean to be a parent? It's a much more personal story, but that does not make it nonsense.

It might not have resonated for you personally but it most definitely did for myself and lots of others. So many great moments in Bio 2
+ Mark Meltzer's counterpoint story. Poor bastard
+ Gilbert the Great
+ Elanor and how your choices affect her
+ Lamb & Elanor

There are many others, getting myself hype to play through it again!

You got combat and Minerva's Den spot on though ;)

Already had 1 and Infinite in my Steam library. Picked up 2 and Minerva's Den for like a total of $5 just now to be ready for the free upgrades to the remasters.

I'd imagine it's the story/world. Both are huge factors in the enjoyment of Bioshock 1 and Infinite (for me at least). The appeal of Rapture and Columbia is coming to this strange new place and seeing the story in the world, 2 just uses the world you've already been to and tacks stuff on top of it

I'm willing to give it another go with the remaster, but when I tried playing after Infinite it just wasn't hooking me in the same way

Also I might be in the minority here but I really like switching hands in Bioshock 1 over dual handing. It's got that feel to it

Welp, I guess I know what I'm marathoning starting 9/13. Haven't played any of these games since the day they released, can't wait. Gimme a dope ass steelcase please 2K.

I own and beat all of them last gen, so I'll grab this when it's in the cheapie bin as I do with all remasters that I have already beaten.

One of my top series, I've played all of them multiple times on different platforms, and I'm still beyond excited for this. So awesome. Really loving the free HD upgrades lately, this, Skyrim... Other companies please jump on the bandwagon!

That was a fantastic trailer. While I wasn't huge on Infinite, I did like 1 and to a lesser extent 2. Might pick it up at a low price.

Free upgrades for PC owners? Nice! It'll be great to finally have a version of the original BioShock that's, well... not kinda shit. I'm assuming achievements will be in, too, which is a nice plus. Pretty much all I needed to justify a replay.

After the Skyrim Remaster and this, I gotta say I'm loving this new trend of giving free upgrades to Steam owners. It was always this thing where I was on the fence before. Like, I didn't necessarily feel entitled to a free upgrade because I understand that these things cost money to make. But at the same time I kinda felt like they should patch the existing version, which usually kept me from buying the rereleases. Hopefully this becomes a thing that catches on.

This is definitely why it's not been BC on Xbone then I'm guessing.

But I will get it to replay through 1 and 2 and give Infinite another chance

Im not sure thats true. After all they are upgrading pc owners for free, so not seeking to squeeze every nickel out of this.

Excellent. The first game is among my favorites of all time, but when I played it I had just bought a 360 and didn't own an HDTV yet. Always wanted to play 2, and I enjoyed Infinite. Never played the DLC from any of these games. And commentary from Levine!

Definitely buying this. This is remasters done right (so long as no technical hiccups show up in the final product).

Play all 3 games on X360. love all of them. Will definitely pickup this collection on PS4 down the line.
