Character models that bug you

This impostor they got to play Sully in Uncharted 4:

I mean, you aren't going to confuse him when you hear Richard McGonagle's voice coming out of his mouth, but in terms of facial features that's a completely different person.

Well, he's older, but I get what you're saying. The graphics jump really does a lot here though; the sheer increase in detail makes them look different. I think that Nate and Elena have gone through more drastic changes though, Nate especially, just subtly.

It's the one with the really big eyes that are weird. Strangely, enough, the ones with smaller eyes in the original game, Egil/Dunban etc. were the best looking as well.

Yep. Basically just the chicks had big eyes though.
Although I was okay with most of the designs, even Lin didn't annoy me (much).

On topic, I hate the way Fable 1's models looked. Bug-eyed, latern jawed bastards with ridiculously large feet and hands, the lot of them.

Chloe and Elena in Uncharted 3. I have no idea what happened there, like, it is truly mind boggling how bad ND messed them up. Which is so uncharacteristic of them. Chloe looks especially bad.

Not only do I feel like her design feels very flat compared to all the other characters but something about her body size and head size don't match up at all to me. When taken seperately they look fine but together, something about her looks off. Like she's from a different game.

It's especially weird when you see her awkwardly running around

I HATED the models in Exist Archive enough to drop the game and sell it.

Which was too bad because I actually liked some of the character designs.

There was just something about Eternal Sonata, where the characters were never able to rest their arms by their sides properly. It's like they were all being held up by puppeteers.

Their arms would clip into their clothes pretty badly if thy didn't stand like that.

Pretty much every updated character model in the kingdom hearts HD remixes. They went from perfect in the original to pure shit
Example:
Original KH model replaced with garbage from 3D. Literally looks like a different person.

The one in green reminds me of Randy from A Christmas Story

I played some of Eternal Sonata, but never noticed that. Now if I ever go to finish it, that's all I will see.

I don't like the character creator models or the long armed characters in Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. They're also weirdly skinny and just look out of proportion.

All the characters I've seen in Star Ocean 5.

They all look like characters ripped from a PS2 game. Just very bland looking, they have absolutely no visual punch.

I didn't like Xenoblade Chronicles X's character models at first, but they... grew on me? And now I don't mind them at all. It was kinda weird; but heck, that whole game is so it all evens out.

This wins it for me. It goes beyond stylised into grotesque territory... becoming rather disturbing.

What's that one game, starts with a V...vanguard something maybe...with the ever so slightly SD characters...supposedly a longtime PSX staple game..tactical I think. Whatever it is, that one.

Every characters face in MGS1. They all look like burn victims.
Hated in 1998, hate it now.
Glad Kojima changed his mind about trying to Shinkawas style again for MGS2.
I think with today's machines, you could really do it justice...but on the PS1 its a mess.

I'm not a huge fan of anthropomorphs in general but I thought Fidget was a great side kick character that just didn't look great to me. Great game though.

Dust An Elysian Tale

I also don't want to be beating on this again but... King of Fighters 14 looks awful compared to its competitors.

i wouldn't say it's the model causing that, it's the lighting, also it's a picture of the screen not a screen shoot so i wouldn't be going crazy right now

It's the models. The models for everything KH3 related has been really shitty and somehow a huge step down from the PS2 models.

Huh, had never seen a full body shot of Zarya before, only from the waist up.

Haven't played the game yet, but I'm not a fan of the human characters in Salt and Sanctuary. From the images I've seen, they don't mesh with the rest of the game.

Elena in Uncharted 4, sometimes her face just looks weird to me.
