Naruto Manga |OT2| Not A Romance Manga

I cant repost but people should reread the lastest interview with Kishi and Ikemoto.

Kishi and Ikemoto worked on this up to a year ago. Its not a reboot, which is what Ikemoto wanted, its a sequel. The story is already written, Ikemoto is just bringing that to manga form.

I really cant stress this enough that this is not GT at all.

Oh I don't think this is like GT, I get the impression Kishi cares more about being at least slightly involved in sequel/cannon related material than Toriyama, who just sort of does stuff for fun and writes it.

It really wasn't. Toriyama said he wouldn't be involved in the writing back in 1995.

I thought you meant like the more so detailed note on his involvement.

I know what the official word is ("Kishimoto is supervising!"), I just don't know that I believe it. :þ

Er. Source?

I really cant stress this enough that this is not GT at all.
That interview you just mentioned ends with Kishimoto saying he's looking forward to the rest of the story as "just another reader", which is pretty damn similar to the way Toriyama ended another interview (again, back in 1995) by explaining that he wouldn't be involved in the story of Dragon Ball GT, meaning he'd get to enjoy it as "just another viewer". So there's that. ;þ

I thought you meant like the more so detailed note on his involvement.
We did get a few extra details/confirmations after that, yes (such as "yep, even 'stached Vegeta" or "nope, not Super Saiyan 4"), but the gist of it (i.e. he merely contributed some character designs and image boards at the very beginning and let the staff do the rest) was never a secret.

That is what I meant.
No, you said "that was only spoken by Toriyama years down the line on how he did a bit of the art. Before that he was credited to be working on the series". As said just above, there was no big reveal, years down the line, about Toriyama's actual involvement.

The question that explains how Ikemoto came to this job. They had already talked it over for about a year. He recieved the story hoping it was a reboot but was disappointed it was a sequel.

I think the overall story is done with Kishis direction. The fact that the manga starts in a significant time skip kinda proves this. Kishi doesnt want to draw Naruto anymore but he's obviously is still keeping the series close to him. He's not involved in the month to month so yeah he will read every chapter as a reader but im fairly certaim he knows how the story ends.

He's worked with SP for Naruto lore filler, that lengthy one shot that basically defines a major character of part 3, the Boruto sequel he announced, the movie about jiraya he wants to do etc.

I just dont see how this is comparable to GT. He's actively providing his input on different aspects of the series future.

They don't say anything about the entire story already existing in some form, in that interview. That would actually be pretty damn unusual, for a Jump series.
Of course, they might also be approaching things differently in this specific instance, and the story might be relatively short (along the lines of the writer's novels?)... I guess that's a possibility. But we just don't know, at this point.

A flashforward like that doesn't necessarily mean the whole thing has already been written. Wouldn't exactly be the first time a writer went "oh, I'll have plenty of time to think of something to connect the dots!".

Maybe. Again, it's not like we really know.

I never said it did. Thats my assertion that the story is mostly done. I'd say its more likely than not

I know it doesnt but in this particular case I think it does.

I think so.

Maybe. Again, it's not like we really know.

No, we do know.

Kishi announced the Boruto sequel around new years. He wrote Mitsukis one shot that defines his origin, his powers and how he ties into the main story. If we looked back, he also spent a good amount of time defining Sarada in Gaiden. And yes, Date confirmed they were working with Kishi in the last filler arc about Kaguya Ashura and Indra.

We dont know to what extent Kishi is still involved with the series but from what we already know its already unquestionably more than Toriyama did with GT.

I wouldn't call any of that "different aspects of the series' future". :þ
I was talking about Boruto Naruto Next Generations specifically, there.

I wasnt in my post.

All of that is apart of the universe and its all work thats been done after he's finished his manga. I don't see how you can really seperate it, though. I mean the one shot was explicitly meant to accompany the new manga and give background on a new main character.

Like he's done considerable work trying to expand the universe since 700 and still working. This is all in stark contrast to how Toriyama handled the end of Z.

So I just read the first chapter of the Boruto manga.

Wow....Naruto turned into a real asshole. His dad was a better father than he is, and he was dead the entire time.

Still, Hinata appears to have mastered a time travel technique to allow her to back to the 1950's to get her hair cut, so that should come in handy later.

Just finished chapter 4. Slowly but surely getting through the movie content. Still not use to the art for certain characters (mainly the female characters and Shikamaru still look off to me), but the art is getting better and better overall. Some of the fight scenes looked great.

New Databook fun

Boruto

Wind, Lightning and water style

"Strength: 120
Intelligence: 90
Perception: 130
Dexterity: 160
Chakra: 140
Negotiation: 90

Sarada

Fire and Lightning, Genjutsu
Strength: 160
Intelligence: 145
Perception: 140
Dexterity: 130
Chakra: 150
Negotiation: 146

Mitsuki
Medic, Sage mode, wind

Attributes:
Strength: 130
Intelligence: 165
Perception: 123
Dexterity: 140
Chakra: ?
Negotiation: 150

Sarada seems awesome😍. Overall their team is extremely OP. The average genin in this scale is a 90, they are mostly well over that. And they can already use every element as a team and there's even a sage.

My god Burrito is a dunce cap.
Less than Naruto was at that age.

Boruto having three elemental styles is... hmm. Those aren't his innate elements, are they? I thought only a select few ninja had three.

Lol hes technically average. Im sure Naruto was like a 45 or something as a genin.

Well he's supposed to be a genius. I think he taught himself the other two like when he was bragging in the movie.

He uses one of Kakashis new Raiton moves so maybe they trained at some point.

I thought Boruto was smarter than that.
Nothing in Boruto gave the impression that he's smarter than Sarada or Mitsuki so it makes sense. He's smarter than his dad, not his mom...probably not even his sister though, since he wasn't smart enough to realize that fucking with her would have consequences.

I don't know why I thought he was some child genius or something like that lol.
has there been any news of a dubbed Boruto movie?

I think his being a genius is more about his skills and aptitude to learn things. Sasuke said in the movie he didnt have good awareness or whatever. But he seems to learn jutsu pretty easy.

He's the weakest on the team as of Volume 1 of the manga but they are all way above genin level right now.

I don't even think he's that good of a fighter since he was stumped by a couple of shadow clones. Something Sasuke has always been pretty good at just rolling through.

Boruto is a poor fighter and Sasuke notices this. He can't think for himself.

Sarada going to be the GOAT #MakeUchihaGreatAgain

Uchiha were always GOAT.

What? Chunin exam Naruto would destroy Boruto. 1000 clones, kurama cloak, Gamabunta and unlike Boruto, Naruto has guts.

Could you imagine Boruto fighting Neji? Neji was hardcore, even beat his cousin to a pulp. Shit now that I think about it doesn't Boruto have the Byakugan? How'd he get scared of a couple of shadow clones?

Most people translate "tensai" as genius, which most folks interpret in the sense of intellectual aptitude. Always thought it more appropriate to use prodigy, which holds the same meaning, but more seem to take as exceptually talented in a certain field.

There are cases of characters being both extremely intelligent and holding a great deal of natural talent to excel as Shinobi, but the traits aren't mutually exclusive.

I agree. But then again, I also think Kishimoto made the term utterly meaningless altogether by overusing it like crazy.

Boruto is probably a genius at learning, but applying the knowledge might be a completely different story for him though. He's able to learn stuff like chakra nature a lot faster than Naruto, but figuring out how to use it to his advantage and to be creative with it is probably where he falls short from Naruto.

Well he was outnumbered significantly by shadow clones. Naruto never had to worry about this due to his chakra levels, Neji and Sasuke have dojutsu.

Doesn't Boruto have the Byakugan too or did that just go to Himawari? Cause I'm pretty sure Boruto could use the Gentle Fist if that's what he almost hit Shikadai with.

He's getting at least one according to the time skip. I think you have to have byakugan to use gentle fist.

They listed his abilities too.

An unknown water and kakashis new lightning attack. And he also has a wind attack called gale palm which is likely what we saw against Shikdai. He is said to excel at hand to hand combat so maybe Hinata trained him about as best she could in Gentle Fist without actually having it.

I should note this listing only covers the first 3 chapters.

There any reason for me to read any chapter after the first chapter?
