Shitposting aside, kinda odd to me how they start off with the whole "how they play today" thing and then include stuff like Oblivion. Like... I played that near release and still have trouble going back to its messy mechanics and all-around jank. Happy Deus Ex didn't get shafted on that note, though. Lot of old PC games that at first glance don't play to modern standards, but feel great when you adjust to the different control styling and different standards of presentation.

Diablo 2 is very ugly on modern computers, and Diablo 3 is a much better game than its first year of release.

Uglier games for their genre listed ahead of Diablo II are Morrowind and Command & Conquer: Red Alert, with RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 and Mechcommander Gold right behind it.

I played Diablo 2 about a month ago on a Windows 10, gaming PC setup. It`s not as ugly as you make it out to be.

Furthermore, Diablo 3 improving from good to almost great doesn`t mean it`s better than Diablo 2.

Dishonored somehow always rubbed me the wrong way. Didn't like it as shooter, didn't like it as a 1st person stealth game nor did I like the fencing, art design or anything about it. A game designed to be revolting in my eyes, although I liked all singular elements for themselves. I've never played another different AAA game that I had such a negative reaction to, that I could not really explain.

I never said that the gameplay of Diablo 3 was better, but it's not that far behind. It certainly looks better graphically, even if I still like the darker tone of Diablo 2. Besides, do you only play it single player?

I wish Grey Goo or 8-Bit Armies made it instead of, again, outdated, Red Alert. They have their own issues but it's sad seeing Petroglyph's games keep falling through the cracks when people claim to love their classics so much.

That's always the problem with lists such as this. Newer games are rated higher, because the (great) experience people had with them is much more recent.

Mass Effect 2?!

I know it's cool to hate on Skyrim on this site, but Skyrim sold a massive amount of copies and is still super popular on Steam for a reason. Yes, Oblivion and Morrowind can have arguments made for why they're better, but Skyrim captured the imagination of a lot of people and is a game that many love.
