Was it a competition? How'd you win it?

Umm, Kinda.

There were golden tickets under random chairs at the Tomb Raider 20th anniversary panel. The entire right hand side of the theatre was empty.

Greg Miller was hosting and after mentioning the golden tickets and saying "look under your chairs" he said "there's probably some golden tickets under those chairs over there. So you might want to check after the panel is over, or go now".

So a bunch of us got up and started looking under the empty rows. I crawled down a row, saw a ticket in the next row back and dove for it.

Damn, so everyone who got golden tickets got that deal? That's pretty incredible.

At PAX East 2015, I attended a Final Fantasy XV panel and ended up winning a Type 0 book with the same kind of under-your-seat deal. Not nearly as cool as yours.

No, only one grand prize. Other tickets were Art books, games etc.

Congrats!!! You put on ring on it! I'm afraid to ask how much that thing set you back...

After all was said and done it was $900.

Congrats man! Have you guys set a date already?

I'm getting married in a month, and my future mother in law has been going insane the last 6 months, lol.

Good luck!

No date yet. Also congrats and good luck with yours. Also my soon to be MIL is already mailing her wedding magazines and stuff.

I thought my shop TV died, so I moved an old monitor out there and bought this:

32" Sharp 1080P on sale from BB. Turned out my TV wasn't broken, so now I have a TV and a monitor out there and my bedroom has a real TV again.

Also, my jigsaw turned out to be giving me not perpendicular cuts, so I splurged on something I've had my mind on for awhile.

I won free Square Enix games for life while at PAX last week and they already sent me my first care package:

Wow congrats! That's a really great deal, and a great way to kick things off :D.

Not going to say too much, but if you haven't already, play Life Is Strange as soon as you can. Such a great game.

It's really awesome just how cheap last generation games are. Snagged all these for less than $10, and I've not yet played any of them before (mostly interested in the SP). Should be a treat.

My Super Famicom New 3DS LL finally got delivered after pre-ordering it months ago. I think it's my favourite of all the ltd editions released thus far. Pics don't do it justice.

It's beautiful! I would have bought like 3 of them if it wasn't for the stupid region lock :'(

Decided it was the right time to get a 3rd SW Hot Toys figure... and it's like having Boba Fett in your living room. Amazing quality but my wallet is crying.

Hey man make sure you check your tv's picture size settings for a just scan or picture fit or something like that option. Judging by the placement of the HUD on the corners of the screen, I think your tv is zooming in by 5%. Not sure, double check. Nice bobblehead btw. what player is that? kimbrell when he was still with atlanta?

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
Never even thought about buying Disney Infinity before thanks to it's high price tag, but for €10 per set (€13 for the Starterpack) i'm happy to help some shops get rid of their stock.
Its very likely i'm going to enjoy Disney Infinity, but I mainly bought these sets for the figurines. :D
Besides, they probably won't be easy to buy in a year or so. Felt like a now or never kinda deal.
Disney Infinity haul Part 2: Those figures are pretty cool. And cheap. €6 a piece.
I went out to buy a Nemo figurine, it got a little out of hand.

I also got a CD closet to store my funko's and other stuff.

Which resulted in some space in the main closet, filled it with some comics. They where all over the place before.

Good times.

Is it normal for the parents to get that involved/crazy? Maybe it's a function of wedding size.

We had a 46 person wedding and did it all ourselves. The only involvement was her mom went dress shopping with her and my parents gifted us some money for it.

Wait... why is the Millennium Falcon on that Evils Of The Night cover? So many questions!
What's even funnier/weirder is the use of spaceship footage from the 1970s Battlestar Galactica TV series during the actual movie.

Just came back from Orlando not too long ago, picked a few things up while at Disney and Universal.

from Disney:

The Stormtrooper t-shirt and (my favorite pick up) a BB-8 souvenir cup that I will be getting a lot of use out of.

from Universal:

a wand from Harry Potter world, which I know nothing about. Gf though got to be part of the whole wand choosing experience thing they do so she was really excited about that.

So not too long ago I decided I wanted to collect DQ stuff (Well, mostly the games). Something about them I've just come to really enjoy and appreciate. I found these in a local used game shop. Got a great deal on them! A little disappointed that only V has a case. I need to figure out how to get the others, or make them, or something.

Third time owning these, first time new. I really love them, but I always end up selling them off to free up cash. They are on sale for $130, so I figured I'd jump in one more time.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.

I plan on using the Xbox as my media hub mostly, but conveniently it came with the only two exclusives for the platform that I'm interested in!

Took me months, but I finally got my Journey print from Cook & Becker framed.

The image has a bit reflection as I skimped on the glass, but it does look amazing. Just need to find a place for it now.

Nice! How is this tv? It's the one I am leaning towards for when I get a PS4 Pro. Also considering an Xbox One S for the UHD Blu-ray functionality.

PAX Prime West 2016 goodies.

First, the getting ready for PAX stuff:
  • A KMASHI 10000mAh External Battery
  • Badges for all 4 days
  • The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes (to play with friends during queuing time)

PAX Swag:
  • Three FFXV T-Shirts (One for playing the demo, one for going to the panel, and one someone gave away)
  • A SE Online Store lanyard
  • A FFXV lanyard, given to me by an official Cindy cosplayer (part of the Uber promo SE did)

  • Small posters and postcards of FF games SE had at their booth
  • An FFXV themed Xbox One controller skin given to me for playing the demo

  • Small posters of upcoming DQ games
  • Some Lumines
  • An Ark pendant (looks like a cheap knockoff but it was actually given away at the Ark booth)
  • Xbox sunglasses
  • An inflatable Horizon: Zero Dawn bow that included a code for a PS4 static theme of the game

And finally, stuff I actually bought at PAX:
  • Mega64 Blu-Ray
  • Dark Souls III VHS T-Shirt that included some patches
  • Fallout socks

It's been a pricey month so far.

My first Nendoroid.
It's all downhill from here.

Dark Souls 2 Design Works

Hyrule Historia Limited Edition.
I got it still shrink wrapped for €60.

Bonus up close shot.

Got some new dice to replace my cheapo set.

I found a A40 TR and Mixamp for half price. My previous mic was technically owned by who I used to work for, so I needed a new one and this one works pretty well. Had to spend a while tweaking the equalizer to make it not sound bad though.

I got a next to new Razer Blackwidoe Chroma for €70. It's the newer revision without the bad switches that break immediately. I'm not a huge fan of Razer, and this is by no means the best keyboard I've ever used. But some of the RGB stuff you can do with it is frankly amazing. There's a music visualizer plugin for it that really impressed me.

Never owned a Super Nintendo, so I jumped on the chance to get one when I found a well kept one. This one isn't a 1Chip system, but I found one that is. It's not as well kept, so I'm still debating if I'll swap this one for it. Either way, I'm going to send this along to be region modded soon enough.

I also needed to get some games for the console, and I've heard some of these may be okay. Joking aside, the system came with a region adapter, so they are all currently playable, but only at 50Hz.

Finally, no pics yet, but I found a new job after about 5 months of unemployment. It's in the other side of the country, so I found a new place to move to.

YAY

Now that I'm using my Logitech G710+ at work I had to find a suitable replacement for my home computing needs. Behold the mighty Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum.

Finally, my biggest accomplishment this year as it pretty much took all year to finish. The 2016 Giant Race Series Sweep, which took me to Scottsdale, AZ, Sacramento, San Jose and finally San Francisco. The Turn-Two award was for SJ & SF, Three Bagger (it's a hat) was Sacramento, SJ & SF and Series Sweep (the broom) was for Scottsdale, Sacramento, SJ & SF.
