Hype level check for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Anyone here enjoy the beta? I for one did and I am wondering if I am the only one on GAF who shares that sentiment. Any thoughts on zombies with an 80s theme, campaign starring Jon Snow, and the most science fiction based cod yet?

Campaign could be good, from the beta I'd say the multiplayer is the weakest in the series.
Overall I'll probably wait for a sale.

While I do hope they're able to address the MP's issues, the campaign looks awesome thus far. Really hoping to see the full scale of it. We've only gotten glimpses, like we haven't seen any more of the side-missions (outside the E3 demo), and being able to upgrade the Jackal. Hell, we haven't even been show how walking around the Retribution works. Super hyped. :)

Heard some pretty decent things about the campaign from some playing through it so I'm excited about that.

I'm more about the campaigns for COD anyway now.

Hated the MP but I'm locked in for MWR. I do like what I've seen of the campaign so far, definitely excited for that.

Have absolutely no inkling for it. COD needs a BF style shift in setting. Future would be cool if we technically haven't had it for like 2 games prior as well. Only difference really seems to be that there are some lasers at play here and maps with a bit more sci fi design

I have it preordered for PC. I was initially excited, but after seeing the overwhelming dislike here, I'm lowering my expectations.

Edit: and never preordering again.

PC player here, so not able to try the beta for myself, but the gameplay I've seen hasn't been encouraging for me.

Campaign looks interesting, but so did BLOP3's and in the end I didn't care for it at all

I'm wavering a lot whether to get TF2 or IW, leaning TF2 atm.

After the really boring beta the game has flatlined. Campaign could be good but after 3 mediocre cod campaigns I'm not excited

Only thing that could save it is the zombies

I played Blop3 a ton but never really cared for infinity ward...at least not lately. And the setting is more of the same crap. Bf1 being absolutely fantastic was the nail in the coffin so I'd say zero hype.

As someone who had zero hype after playing Black Ops 3 and zero hype going into the beta, I came away quite excited. I thought this would be the first year I wouldn't buy a COD game since Modern Warfare 2, but I think that streak will continue at least for this year.

The beta seemed fine. Will pick it up when it's $50 CAD or less. Unless the campaign and VR portion get bad impressions. Friend who I usually played mp with has moved away and doesn't have a ps4 at the moment, so no inclination to get it especially with vr games I have yet to play and the Pro, watch dogs 2, ffxv and the last guardian coming up.

Im hyped to be playing cod4 again....pretty sure infinity warfare wont be played more than once as if the beta is anything to go by....its gonna be a clusterfuck of epic proportions

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
I'll be jumping into MWR MP at midnight next Friday, but will switch back to IW occasionally since I did actually enjoy the beta. At the very least I want to unlock everything.

I'll wait for PS4 Pro to start the campaign.

Tried the beta and wasn't feeling it at all.

I like the campaigns in CoD usually though and this one looks cool so I've been considering it. But I might need to contrast and compare with Titanfall 2 to decide which futuristic shooter I want.

Then again I have not played a CoD since MW2

BO3 felt like a much better game but after a few hours in IW it started to grow. My hype went down from 7 to 4, but I didn't cancel my preorder and between the copy of Modern Warfare, the zombies mode, the single player campaign, and all the multiplayer stuff even if its not as good as BO3 its still a pretty good value for the money.

Still, the multiplayer just felt so uninspired in the beta. By contrast in the first 5 minutes of Battlefield 1 my jaw was on the floor and I was loving every second. Overwatch felt the same too, although to be fair after 2-3 months I don't really ever feel like playing overwatch anymore.

Do we know if the campaign will have supersampling or not? Cause I can't deny I would almost want to wait as well if that is the case.

Campaign looks great

This and Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer are the reasons I'm excited and eager to pick it up. If IW's multi is as similar to Black Ops III as impressions from the beta suggest (I didn't play the beta), then I'm sure I'll think it's fine but I'm probably not going to invest time into it between MWR, Battlefield 1, and Titanfall 2.

Funny we're getting Modern Warfare Remastered and Titanfall 2 so close together -- feels to me like getting to see a time capsule of one of the highest achievements and the newest game from some of the same key personnel. Titanfall 2 is maybe where old Infinity Ward's (EDIT:) futuristic COD would be if they had stuck around at IW.

Is there a term for minus hype ? Cause that's what I am feeling. Activision is getting my only because of MWR. Those crafty bastards.

Edit: Suddenly everyone is playing call of duty for its campaign lol. I remember a time when people used to say they don't even touch sp and it's all about mp. People gotta justify giving Activision money I guess 😂

Not directed towards anyone in particular.

The campaign is looking pretty good, and as a sucker for dumb 80's things the zombies should be fun, but the MP may one of the weaker ones based on the beta.

I'll be keeping my preorder because of the discount I'm getting plus MW:R.

Buying it for Campaign and MWR. 0 hype for MP. But if they have a good eSports mode, I might give a shit. Hated BO3. Ghost and AW are better games.

Beta killed my interest.

It felt weird. Like it was something wrong with the controls. I tried different sensitivities, but the clunkyness remained.

Renting for the campaign.

I gave them a chance with the beta to change my opinion of them after Ghosts, and all it did was reinforce the fact that Infinity Ward is just a shell of it's former self, just being used for brand awareness.

This will be the first Call of Duty I don't purchase since I got into the series around World at War.

That's exactly how I felt, I thought that was just me. Also I enjoyed AW and was disappointed that it uses the blops formula.

Got the legacy bundle for half price, so I'm getting it anyway. They just need to back away from this future warfare shit. Even if the three teams they have got on making them focus on different settings, like the past, the present and the future instead of all future.
