Yeah, I only really follow ICW through social media, so that was a bit out of nowhere for me too. Coffey finally beat Damo for the title a few months ago, then in true WWE tribute fashion, was immediately cashed in on by Wolfgang and the Black Label.

The best thing about the NOAH news is we'll perhaps see Suzuki-gun back in New Japan, although I feel the group needs freshening up a bit after the past couple of years. Most of those guys will still be on NJPW contracts, excluding Suzuki who's freelance.

I was there last night. The crowd was way into a lot of it. I did sense some crowd fatigue towards the second cruiserweight match but that's because there are too many breaks and setting up the purple ropes (tape) and such sort of sucks the fun out.Catching up with Raw, really enjoyed the opening segment with Goldberg and Rusev! Goes to WrasslinGAF to read their reactions..
Having gone to see RAW twice this year, I've noticed booing Roman and countering his chants is part of the fun more so than just genuinely hating him. Some of you folks need to relax.

Nope, Uchida was the guy Mutoh picked to run the promotion after the TARU/Hirai incident. Then a few months later Mutoh ended up selling most of his stock to Shiraishi and his group Speed Partners, who were the money marks that ran AJPW into the ground. Mutoh and Uchida left to form W-1 when Shiraishi made himself president and went batshit insane.
Way too complex of a deal to happen, I'd guess - also, with all the egos at play even if the two did merge there would probably be a lot of fallout, in terms of talent leaving, or splintering off to form their own promotions.

When did NOAH get in the sad state in its now? I stopped watching NOAH not long after Misawa passed away and I'm guessing things just changed too much with Taue in charge?
Reading that KENTA was a GHC Heavyweight champion for over a year has blown my mind! I honestly don't even recognise many of the names on the AJPW and NOAH rosters looking though them.
