A majority of the new Pokemon are slow and its really surprising. I don't think there would be a day one patch for it but I was thinking earlier today with how many slow Pokemon their are if Nintendo might have done something weird with the first set of copies in case they leaked out to determine where the actual leak came from but I don't really think that is likely to be true just wishful thinking on my part since so many of these Pokemon just won't be that playable in competitive play.

Unless they are designing the game around using the new rule set for the Pokemon World Championships or something, didn't they say they would only let you use the Pokemon in the new dex during the WC next year or something crazy? I don't remember and at this point I'm getting pretty sleep deprived from last nights madness so maybe I'm just crazy.

They must surely have a limit on the number of Ultra Beasts you can use. Otherwise, it'll be the genies all over again

Maybe the reason the starters and some of the strong pokemon are so slow its for balance of the singleplayer?
Now your starter shouldn't be able to one shot evrything without being hit by the oponent.

One thing I thought they dropped the ball on this game was the lack of clothing options from the past protagonists of the franchise in this game. Would have been neat if it really did all come together.

If thats the reason then they implemented it horribly because one starter has a blatantly better defensive typing then the rest and can actually afford to take hits.

Ah i thought it was higher than that. I feel like there is a move that makes electric moves more accurate though (cant think of the name). Pair it with that if im correct

It gets Toxic Spikes plus Venoshock, and its ability makes all of its attacks become critical hits against poisoned foes. Even with its low base Sp. Attack, a 130 base strength STAB attack that always crits is nothing to sneeze at...

That's not even getting into the potential stall sets it can run with its signature move (Protect that poisons foes who make contact) along with Black Sludge and Regenerator.

Calling it right now: Toxapex, Golisopod, Minior and UB-02 Beauty are going to be this gen's standout competitive Pokemon.

It's SpA sucks too so venoshock and ice beam aren't as good as you'd hope but still. I wonder if that stacks, like critical critical hit?

Maybe venoshock if you're rocking regenerator and sludge bomb otherwise?

So do we know how you get HA Pokemon yet? Could it be no HA at all or Island Scan?
Search for this silhouetted Pokémon in the location where you picked up a trace of it!

There seem to be no rare Pokémon around here.
Use this QR Scanner to scan QR Code patterns, and you can get information about Pokémon! You get one QR Code scan every two hours and can save up to 10 scans.
You can collect points by scanning QR Code patterns. Once you collect 100 points, you can use Island Scan!
Using Island Scan, you can search each island of the Alola region and find rare Pokémon! When you pick up a trace of a Pokémon, go to the location immediately to catch it!

Still Island scan sounds like it is things that can be found normally so no starters with HA in that case. Another possibility is the Poke Pelago feature but what can you even get from that. Is it only certain ones that will visit your island or could it be anything?

I asked on /vp/ but I figured I'd ask here too if anyone has in depthly watched or played:

Can anyone tell me how long it takes from starting the game, choosing a starter and then getting your Pokedex or whatever is nesecarry to trade?

On launch I want to grind out some starters and Munchlax with a friend. We did it in ORAS and it was pretty great to have extras and I don't think it took too long.

So like a special wall that also kind of sucks and has a bad movepool. It's basically immune to fire and gets mirror move and aqua veil for some reason but with that HP stat I don't think it matters.

Do crits still ignore buffs/defence/whatever? Either way, base 130 100% crit Venoshock (plus poison DoT) is going to hurt even with that weak SpA stat. Can't wait to try it out!

Baneful Bunker: In addition to protecting the user from attacks, this move also poisons any attacker that makes direct contact. -- [Poison] --, Status.

That is its signature move. So insane with the Merciless ability.
