What Nintendo experience are you most thankful for?

Definitely Pokémon. My younger years were made very fun, thanks to pokémon and just trading and battling with friends and with my brother.

What Nintendo experience are you most thankful for?

I'm thankful that the timing of my life coincided pretty well with Nintendo's presence in video gaming. I can look back and pretty easily classify phases of life with Nintendo consoles: NES with grade school, SNES with high school, N64 for college, etc..

Because of this, I have a ton of memories associated with Nintendo. Gaming with Dad after opening presents on birthdays and Christmases, late night gaming sessions with friends in the dorms (Goldeneye!), taking vacations from work to play major releases. Happy, happy memories.

I discovered Nintendo through a friend.

But only to have a go

I actually bought my first Nintendo console by Wii u

I never have looked back!

I used to be SONY PLAYSTATION mad but I found why I used to love the true arcade gameplay so much ! Nintendo knows how to do this with * style*

Their focus on local multiplayer. It's not something I do often in my life now but one of the first things I remember when thinking about my college and high school life is playing Double Dash and Brawl with my brother and friends absolutely nonstop.

Maybe when I have kids I can get back into that!

Playing games like Super Mario Bros, Bros 3, Wave Race 64, Banjo Kazooie and Ocarina of Time during christmas holidays as a child.

Also local multiplayer in MK64, Goldeneye, Mario Party, Snowboard Kids, Mario Kart DS, Mario Bros Wii.

Motion controls with the Wii remote. I didn't know something like that would change my video game world view, but it did and I crave these kinds of experiences now. I'll even buy genres I don't like to try out the motion control setups. The NS will be my favorite system if it can provide these kinds of experiences.

Their games have gotten me through depression more than once. It was nice to have something to do or an upcoming game to look forward to when pretty much every other part of my life was completely screwed.
Also I"m just glad they're still around in a time where I'm less and less interested in the games every other company is making.

What Nintendo IP(s) would you like to see getting revived?

Metroid (Done correctly, not Federation Force)
Star Tropics
Wario Land
F-Zero (by SEGA)
Advance Wars/Battalion Wars/Switch Wars
Actraiser (Technically SE but I don't care)
Duckhunt (it's time... makes good use of the joycom pointer)

And for a bonus, I hope they name the new Mario ad Super Mario Bros. Switch (since it's 2 player co-op)

Has this idea been brought up? How sweet would it be if Nintendo sold extra base units for maybe $25 each and you could plug them in to other TVs in your house so you can game in another room if needed.

Fun for me too, and the gameplay. Rarely I grow frustrated with awful controls when playing Nintendo games.

And I like how different Nintendo's consoles are from the rest. Breath of fresh air in the stale industry. May that never chance!

Dry Freeze sounds rather lame as a title, not implausible, but unlikely. Watch Dogs 2 getting such a late port sounds like Ubisoft to me.

Laura Kate has this to say, however:

Removed RT'd Switch software list, saw the second half and it started to ring alarm bells. Names feel pulled out an arse in places.

To me this seems mostly based on prior leaks with weird name guesses added. Thoughts?

Never trust someone who uses three exclamation marks in announcing alleged insider info. Reeks of attention seeking. I don't believe that Ubisoft would launch Watch Dogs 2 this late in 2017, since they are closely working together with Nintendo (Raddis x Mario).

The misplaced apostrophe on Rabbids should be enough to debunk that.

What screams fake most about it to me is how much it seems to leech off Laura's info. The Silver Case, great as it is, is not noteworthy enough to be outed by a separate source within that context.

That list lol. I kind of doubt that Splatoon would be subtitled ink warfare... sounds like one of those fake emo Zelda subtitles that always float around in between game announcements.

In a word: Mario

When I was a child, I remember to play Super Mario Bros with my dad and uncle and have a blast.

After that, playing super Mario Bros 3 on my generic NES (named Top Gear VG 9000) was awesome! That game is perfect and, ever now, it's in my favorite games of all time.

On N64 my jaw dropped when I play Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. More than that, lots of amazing Mario's games, like Golf, party and tennis, help me to have the ultimate fun like I never have before.

There is a black hole, named Cube, that I will skip. But after that sad time, the Mario Galaxy is the 3D experience of my life as a long time Mario fan.

That franchise alone can make me buy any console.

I really hope the Rabbids/Mario RPG crossover isn't real
Boooo. I hope it is. Could be great. I like Mario, and the Rabbids are now beyond the point where I hate their existence being instead of Rayman, so I can appreciate their fun now. As cute wacky characters I enjoy the Rabbids. Rayman got a fourth and even a fifth game so I have no reason to resent them anymore. Put the Rabbids in every game. Rabbids having a cameo in Watch Dogs was cool so my theory of Rabbids improving all video games holds up for now...

Wii Sports.

Because without Wii Sports I would have given a shit about Nintendo in the first place and would have missed out on a lot of great things. Wii Sports pulled me in to Nintendo, and I'm glad it did. Also Wii Sports was pretty damn fun...

Yeah I know I'm a filthy casual.

I can't choose between Super Mario Galaxy, Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask.

SMG made me dream, litterally. I never felt so much joy playing a plateform game in my life.

Link's Awakening made me cry for the first time in a videogame (and also Terranigma many years later, witch Nintendo Europe made the game come to France and Julien Bardakoff did an amazing job with the french translation). And then Majora's Mask did it again, with the final moments of Anju & Kafeï's quest.

So, thanks you. Nintendo isn't Kojima Prod, Naughty Dog, Bioware or Obsidian, but they're everything I love in gaming.

Well, since Ubisoft is allegedly developing it, meaning that no Nintendo dev power gets lost, I can't really bothered by it. Hell, it might even be a good game!

Ubisoft DOES know how to make a great RPG:

With or without Rabbids, who wouldn't want to play a Mario RPG done in a similar style!?

SMG made me cry. It was when I got to Gusty Gardens. It was a big moment.

And Link's Awakening reminds me of something that'll stick with me for a long time. Symphony of the Goddesses finally came to New Orleans last year, and one of the pieces played was the Link's Awakening suite. When the orchestra got to the point where they were playing the Ballad of the Wind Fish, I could hear crying. Not just one or two people, it was scattered. Watching the ocean take everything and everyone that Link had come to know and love.. the people and the places fading.. it was too overwhelming.

Have we discussed already GameStop CEO Paul Raines declarations? I've searched and couldn't find anything.

If I'm reading it correctly, does the Switch have motion controls? Or is I just the reporter's assumption?

http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/gaming/736511/Nintendo-Switch-news-SECRET-new-feature-uncovered-release-date

"The Switch is a very interesting device," he said. "A movement-related game is more fun for kids, you know, taking those [Joy-con controllers off] and then the master controller, you can really do a lot of interesting things with that in gameplay."
