Something just hit me all of a sudden. I've been working on OT graphics for days almost nonstop and have barely stopped to realize it's actually coming out tomorrow.

I really hope I like it lol

I remember when Versus 13 was announced at E3 with FFXIII that I really didn't care for either, but that's because I was just more excited for XII and those 2 just seemed a ways off to care. Then it sounded more like Versus was just vaporware and FFXIII just wasn't my thing which was shocking really considering I was a huge fan of the series and I had no interest in what Square was doing. I thought that maybe I had just outgrown Final Fantasy..?

It wasn't until Tabata took over along with playing FFXIV last year and the Uncovered event that my love for the series was renewed and I was all aboard the hype train. Lol

I just have one question before going dark on this and other threads.

Is there missable content, or any points of no return? If so, will the game warn you about it before you proceed?

Let's hope they can work some magic for a solid 60fps.

Edit: and fix the damn reflections.

Edit: and frame pacing!

The hype has finally gotten to me. The next 30 some hours are going to be torture. 😣😣😥😥😣😣😥😐😐😐😑😑😑

It's a funny feeling to know this game is out.

Hopefully Square can get its act together for future mainline Final Fantasy games. Just ditch the engine and go with Unreal 4; crank some games out, goddamnit. I don't want another 10-year wait for XVI. I want it by 2019 at the latest.

The engine is basically ready and tailored for this type of genre so I doubt they'll be ditching it after perfectioning it in so many years. Infact I expect it to be the reused for other XV project and/or the next main entry. Plus I'm not sure Ue4 can manage open world games as good as this one. But just a guess.

Sucks I'm stuck at work. If I knew Best Buy would ship my game early, I would have asked for the week off instead of Wednesday thru Friday.

When your HP doesn't regenerate anymore and not even a potion helps... then what's wrong? Lack of food or sleep?

Yeah, there's one boss that must be beaten on Normal for 100% trophies.

Just one? That's brutal haha. Can the modes be changed in the game menu or no? I would hate to do Easy and then start all over again on Normal just to do one boss. If I can't do that, I'll just play Normal all the way through.

Bought the Deluxe edition even though I probably shouldn't have as I have absolutely no interest in watching that silly tie-in movie thing and I'm not too hyped for this game, but I had Amazon credit to burn on frivolous things...

Gonna blow through the story quickly so I can optimize time with all the abilities and features before I get bored with the game.

Days gone is open world but it's not out yet so who knows

While I know that some of you guys got the game very early, Best Buy is at least coming through once again with delivery today.

Full hype ahead! Hoping this is kind of my OT home for the next month or so... I happen to hold the opinion that I just waited through the longest console generation of all time to finally get another great Final Fantasy game, as I did not like FFXIII or its sequels (I tried all of them, I really did -- only games in the entire mainline franchise I don't like) and FFXIV being an MMO feels like it's hard to count. I mean, FFXI was my first MMORPG of all time and I had fun playing it for a year and some change, but I tend not to rank it among mainline FF titles, and same goes for FFXIV 2.0 (1.0 was garbage, I was there day 1 and completely let down, but I didn't do my research so that's on me).

FFXV has felt promising to me since I played the Duscae demo. It was rough in some spots, I won't deny that, but I've been hooked to the aesthetics of Eos, the focus on the brotherly themes in the main cast, the road trip open world. I've dived a bit into the spoiler thread to dig a little deeper and try to paint a slightly fuller picture, and between all that and today's reviews rolling out, I'm feeling confident that for me, Final Fantasy is about to make its grand (singleplayer) return. I can't wait to play this game tomorrow, and I'm hoping it'll be my obsession until I finish it. :)

Sad my Amazon copy didn't ship yet... Cutting it awfully close, and in a year where two of my other most anticipated games got to me late (because of Amazon shipping out late, not because the delivery services failed to get it to me on time). Before 2016, I'd seen Amazon do day-before shipout and next-day arrival, but they sent my Dark Souls III and Guilty Gear out late this year and those were both hotly anticipated. :( If FFXV misses the Tuesday delivery, that means it'll get here after my work week starts and I won't have time to play until Sunday.

Good vibes, good vibes...

Happy for the fans that it is reviewing well. Will be picking this up at Christmas.

*edit Mistake. Should be in the review thread...

Lets go!!!

Anyone at all bought from GAME? Really not sure what to do here. Still no mention of delivery and it's gone last pickup time now. Live chat is dead. Want to ask for a refund and go digital since I don't trust this to show up tomorrow at all. Still says unshipped.

No one really answered this yet, but how many outfits are there? I've seriously only seen Noctis in black clothes, and some casual wear. Please tell me there is more.

Okay, the various pre-order bonuses stuff is confusing me once again.
I've seen that you get different stuff depending on what edition you get, and where you get it from.
As an example, I've pre-ordered (and received) the Deluxe edition, which already contains some extra content (I'm ok with that), from a French retailer (Fnac) that also offers two additional bonuses for pre-ordering.
In my case, those two are a "pre-order set" and King's Tale.

That's great, but if I want to get a real 100% completion, will I ever be able to get all the other bonuses from other editions/retailers whether it's done by finding the stuff in-game, or by buying them as DLC from the PSN?

It seems they mostly consist in special weapons and car paints/stickers but still, I'd hate to be unable to access everything even if I don't recall about a game ever doing that.

10 years of waiting finally over, and seems like by the reviews so far, it going to be worth it. Can't wait to pick it up tmrw.

I'll be playing after the semester is over but damn, what a journey to get to this point
Is it finally releasing 👀

Peru still #1 😎

Use an elixir. They're no longer items you should hoard. Most consumables aren't, really. You'll need to use them. Also, fun fact: Read the item descriptions for all the healing items.

The combat in this game is SO GOOD! There are many open world games where you want to explore but kinda don't want to get into battle, but FFXV is the exact opposite: combat the main reason I want to explore every nook and cranny of the world. Getting out, picking a her of powerful enemies and just starting to pick them apart bit by bit is so much fun, and can be quite challenging too! It is probably the best battle system I have played this gen, in my eyes (don't hurt me) even more fun than Bloodborne.

Edit: Kotaku review should be in the OP in my opinion. It is a very extensive review that captures nearly every aspect of the game and is a joy to read.

Question for disc owners (I usually go digital but need that suit from the physical deluxe =P) - while the game is patching, can I remove the disc and watch Kingsglaive? I have crazy slow broadband so figured Kingsglaive would be a good way to wait it out (haven't seen it yet).

So elixirs work but potions not?

Just installed the game.

Do you guys think it's proper to wait for the patch to download first or is it ok to start the game immediately :p?

I've seen 2 other outfits including one obtained from a dungeon.

Yes, just insert the disc once and you can remove it while the patch downloads.

Yep. As soon as the download starts you can remove the disc.

Potions restore your "grey" HP. Elixirs restore your "black" and "grey" HP. The way it works is that your max HP gets reduced whenever you go into a Danger state and whenever you get hit while in that state. An elixir will restore your maximum HP.
