I've submitted the Crikey Sub for this year.

If you didn't get back to me / are interested but didn't get around to PMing / emailing me , if you contact me we can see about getting you pro-rataed in. As long as you get in touch before the end of January that should work out approximately the same as you having joined now.

Picking up one more member would actually be pretty great since it'd move us to the next subscription size and save us $10 / member

So I moved on the weekend to my own place, and signed up for NBN on Monday with MyRepublic. So far I haven't even received a confirmation email. I've messaged them on Facebook and emailed them. Not too keen on calling going by the facebook comments.

I've made a mistake, haven't I?

My year's work ends on Friday with a work lunch.
Then it's off to the airport headed back to Hobart for 2 weeks.
It will be glorious; The 5th annual christmas eve pub crawl is happening!

Almost certainly. The Australian people apparently hold that if you're out of work for whatever reason, it's due to a moral failing on your part for which you must be punished.

idk i'm super peeved but not as peeved that they suspended my youth allowance due to some centrelink dudes fuckup as i could be because i still live with my parents but i just had the thought if i was living alone or not on good terms with my parents, i would be actually out on the street by now which is a scary thought

I was hoping to fill my ipad with netflix stuff, but t hey do have a limit on the number of things you can have downloaded at once.

lots of ST TNG and gonna try Crazy Ex Girlfriend and The Crown. Hopefully one of them helps me sleep on the 20+ hours of plane trip I have tomorrow

Surprised it works. I thought it was only netflix 'originals'.

We had some issues getting Netflix to download properly on the iPad 2 we use for Jack.

A bunch of episodes just sat at 0% with no error.

It's a lot but not everything. You can browse by downloadable. There's No Disney stuff yet, for example

They've put a limit on how many eps/movies you can have downloaded at once. So I filled the rest of the ipad with stuff from amazon prime. small filess but not totalltpotato quality. better than inflight stuff at least.

Dunno about the mirroring, but have been watching a few things I downloaded for my flight home and at the end of an episode, you get a message "delete and watch next episode." There's also a 48 hour limit from when you start watching (very much like iTunes/ google rentals).

Quality on a tablet is pretty good for such tiny file sizes. They probably wouldn't great on a big screen TV though.

I did something pretty dumb a few hours ago. I bought a $50 steam card at Woolies that converts to US$36 and bought about US$38 worth of stuff. I intended to buy it with the card money and paypal the other two bucks but I accidentally put it all on Paypal! I then had to put the other US$36 on XCOM2 and Arkham Knight.

any one have dsl from Belong? I'm shacked up with my folks while i'm here and I can't get the Wii U or PS4 to connect to the internet

edit: fixed, eventually. belong doesn't like me trying to mix their supplied modem with my router
