Happy birthday Icon.

Lego Batman was dope. Fun movie for DC fans, gets an extra edge for batman franchise fans. Just a loving homage to the entire history really.

the opening logos alone are great lol
when the DC logo pops up he says "the house that Batman built, that's right Superman.."

also I love that his batcave password is "Iron Man sucks"

BREAKING: MATT REEVES officially offered THE BATMAN!

THR Article
Matt Reeves is going from apes to bats.

Reeves, the well-regarded filmmaker behind Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes, has the offer and is in early talks to replace Ben Affleck as the director of The Batman.

Other directors remain in the wings, including Ridley Scott and Don't Breathe director Fede Alvarez.

Affleck remains on board to portray Bruce Wayne/Batman and co-wrote the script with DC Films co-head Geoff Johns. Several sources say, however, that the script may undergo a significant overhaul.

I get that Batman is a priority, but so weird Batman drops and gains new director before we hear anything about the Flash

Says a lot, huh? Months ago we heard MoS2 was being fast-tracked which was confirmed by Cavill's manager and we haven't heard a thing since. Affleck drops directorial duties and he's replaced within 2 weeks.

I'm honestly fine with Alvarez or Ridley as replacements. Seriously.

I'm still pulling for Reeves but Alvarez or Ridley at the helm would be just as interesting to me.

I wanted Matt or Miller. Miller was my pipe dream because he takes his time with perfection aka mad max. But Mat, he made me care about a Planet of the Apes movie, that alone is what is exciting about him directing Batman.

I'm hyped and I'm glad Ben can now focus on acting and stunts and kicking ass and not really all the day to day nitty gritty 22 hours of work it would take being actor, director, producer, and writer.

It sounds like Reeves is being courted. He needs to take it. Being the dude that directs a badass Batman movie would give him Nolan pull. Who doesn't want that?

He's almost certainly agreed to do it, now is just the paperwork. That's what happens when articles in Variety and Deadline mention "In talks". They basically have already agreed, just need to sign the contract.

Matt Reeves is about to say goodbye to his creative freedom.

I doubt it. He'll have to work in the confines of the universe, but I'm sure he'll get his fair say in what he wants to do. Based on how things are going, I'd say this is a huge get for WB and the DCEU if it actually happens. They kinda need him to stick around.

LA Times sat down with Fishburne about John WIck 2 but they briefly talk about BvS. He confirms he will not be appearing in Justice League due to scheduling issues.

Laurence, you’ve had experience in that superhero world, first as the voice of the Silver Surfer in “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” and, more recently, playing Daily Planet editor Perry White in “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman.” Are we going to see you pop up later this year in “Justice League”?

Fishburne: They asked me to come for a day, but I couldn’t work it out, schedule-wise. And really, what do you need the newspaperman in “Justice League” for? You want to see the Flash. You want to see Aquaman. You want to see Wonder Woman. You want to see the Lantern.

We’ve been waiting 35 years for these [characters] to show up on the screen. What were they doing over there? Marvel has been kicking their ass. This is the comic-book geek in me, who has a collection of comic books. I’ve been waiting to see these people on-screen forever.

As a comic-book geek, were you surprised at how quick fans and critics were to jump all over “Batman v Superman”?

Fishburne: Look, I love what Zack Snyder does. Jesse Eisenberg, this little nebbishy guy, as Lex Luthor? For me, that’s a genius move. And the whole thing with Martha Kent and Martha Wayne? I don’t know, man, I must be sentimental but that’s some heartwarming [stuff] to me. So I don’t get it.

Hope Larry Fish didnt just spoil "the Lantern" being in the movie lol

Emphasizes the point that The Flash is being restarted from ground zero. And also makes rumors of humongous Batman script rewrites more unbelievable

Guys, if they got Reeves (or another director) for Batman, right now, do you think we will get the movie on summer of 2018? I don't want Aquaman to be the only DC film for 2018.

If they are ready with a script and just waiting on Reeves to sign some shit they could absolutely pull it off. Really depends on how fast they can start filming.

Well, everyone seems to still be doing the prep. I don't think anything was on hold per say, but once Reeves is locked in it can be full steam ahead.

Guys...

Powerless is awful.

Christina Kirk is the only funny character and even that just may be me having a personal love of that dry style of comedy.

Hudgens is nice to look at though.

Yeah. I get it. But yeah...

It's nice to think they'll come out with an(other) exciting director for The Flash. Seeing the movie struggle is a shame. Who is to say how Wonder Woman will turn out; despite efforts to find production troubles, there haven't been any since Jenkins replaced Maclaren. Aquaman is progressing smoothly. Batman is Batman. But Flash keeps tripping up.

I wonder if they are having trouble differentiating the movie from the show enough for their liking. The show has burned through so many of his rogues gallery already not to mention a few of his more well-known storylines. They don't have that problem with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman or Aquaman.

Reeve news is good but they were always going to get top tier talent for Batman...

I'm more concerned about their other projects.

Aquaman seems to be going smoothly. I'm not really worried about WW either; aside from that one negative rumor, what we've seen looks solid. Gal's acting looks decent, the premise is interesting, and the action looks well put together.

(Somebody does have to sit down and talk to Gal about varying up her facial expressions more, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be, imo)
