The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Preview Thread

I feel like one flaw I can forsee involves weapon degradation and exploring older areas.

Let's say 20 hours in you want to go back to the Great Plateau because you feel you missed something. By that point, you will have gathered newer, better weapons from newer areas. So you'll want to avoid combat in the Great Plateau like the plague, because you'll be weakening your stronger weapons with little to no benefit to you (any weapons you would pick up would be weaker, so there's no point).

The thing that saves this is that you could have a designated "shitty weapon" slot to deal with that, but it kinda defeats one of the best parts of many RPGs: going back to an older area and steamrolling it with your more capable character.

or you just toss a bomb in there illing one while disarming another, quickly equip his shit club and throw it straight at the lookout archer's face, or find something metal nearby (plateau has plenty) and swing it around battering those grunts to death no sweat?

As someone suggested earlier, this on-the-nose Zelda 1-inspired title:

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT| Take any road you want.

(With the screengrab from the Zelda 1 shortcut passages explaining the joke in the OP)

Seems like the Kotaku review leaked. Is this legit? https://twitter.com/CartridgeGames/status/837011178379481090

What's everyone's obsession with Horizon? They can both be amazing games ya know. There's no need to put down one to prop up the other.

I'm just going with the flow here, couldn't care less about comparing the two games. I just like how it riles people up.

Got another one.

|OT| Where the Wild Things Are

And my previous one.

|OT| There Echoes a Legend on the Breath of the Wild

I'm about 5 hours in. This game is very different from past console Zeldas. It fixes a lot of issues I had with SS. Frame rate dips a fair bit in points, but aside from that, it's brilliant so far, and combat is hard! You really need to manage things properly.

Do I put "Open-world perfection" or "Triumphant. Groundbreaking. The pinnacle of Zelda." on the accolades image as Kotaku quote? Leaning towards the first cause it's shorter.

The quote from the game says "nothing" though.

Maybe more people would get it if it had *cries* afterwards.

I've been avoiding stuff/ I forget things, which is nice, because it makes things I otherwise would've remembered a surprise again!

I don't actually like that as a title regardless lol.

Are you playing on Wii U?

The review thread should be "Grumble Grumble: Zelda Breath of the Wild Review Thread."

Grumble Grumble should be reserved for the inevitable Zelda vs. Horizon thread.

And not in the title. Every post in the thread should just be "Grumble Grumble"

It would probably be better for everyone that way.

Forgetting stuff in games is nice, especially for a game like this. Somehow I've already memorized the layout of the Great Plateau and I've never even got my hands on the game!
