Bill's dead and now they get to spend the weekend looking for a place to bury its corpse. There isn't enough time to come up with anything else they can try to weasel through the budget reconciliation process, so it's done for the near future.

People celebrating this don't seem to care that it was pulled because it was still too much healthcare.

That doesn't seem like good news.

Well, it's a pretty shitty bill all around, and people across the entire political spectrum have big problems with it.

It's just that the Freedom Caucus was the biggest impediment to passage in the House, which wasn't going to decide the fate of Obamacare repeal in the first place.

Seems as if the Repubs are kinda fucked with this Freedom Caucus group of thugs. They want certain things that moderate Repubs don't want and vice versa.

let them try and make it worse..

Which version of this bill actually caused less people to be insured than just an all out repeal? lol

I don't remember if it was the first or the second. Either way making it worse, at this point, would be a challenge if a full repeal would have better results.

Small victory, but these fucks voted to repeal the ACA 60 times. They'll be back to their bullshit soon enough.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

It also didn't pass because it didn't provide for enough constitutes. You are only looking at one side of it.

Hope Trump says he is moving on making Obamacare law of the land. What a time to be alive. Republicans control everything, yet can't get rid of the one thing they have been saying is gone day 1. Glorious.

I sort of hate that this was the politically best outcome for the GOP. Still, at least nobody has yet to be negatively impacted by the GOP's terrible legislation.

They will just try again next week. This is only a small win.

With what?

This shit's dead as a doornail. Trump tried to play chicken and he blinked. Their deadline is fast approaching to have it approved without 60 votes, and they can't do this next year because mid-terms. They lost so bad.

They'll definitely try again but they need to please both moderates and the freedom caucus to get a bill like this passed and I just don't see it happening.

I didn't say it had a greater chance of passing. It'll just be back angrier and hairier next time lol.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.

Which is exactly why if Donald was actually a good negotiator (he's not) he would have tried to win moderate Dems to work with moderate Republicans to make changes. The only chance he really had at getting something passed would have been to go across the aisle.

He didn't even attempt that... and all the bullshit he's spewed at the left after winning the election meant that was going to be an uphill battle.

He's used to having yes men everywhere he went before because of his money. He's finding out now that big bank doesn't always take little bank in Washington.

Any bill that would gain the approval of the Freedumb Caucus would lose more votes from more centrist/vulnerable House Republicans, and be DOA in the Senate.

I hope Paul Ryan comes out with his sleeves rolled up and a PowerPoint that shows exactly where he'll be thrown under the bus.

L O Fucking L. I guess Ryan and Trump didn't want to see it not get votes. God, they're such little bitches. They'd rather pull the bill than follow through.

I can dislike Trump 10% less if he is willing to work with Dems to actually improve Obamacare.

He said he's willing to use government spending to cover people. So do it.
