Pathfinding is the age old problem RTS games always have and Starcraft probably did it the best out of the 90's games. I even have a local magazine review from back then where they were praising it compared to other titles back then. UI is classic, many other games use it. If by UI you mean how you can only select 12 units or train 5 units at a time, thats not UI, thats some of the games dumb design decisions that Blizzard employed, they were bad then and bad now. Thats how the game was made. We always had to play the game around this shit. The way "dated" is thrown around seems as if its some unplayable piece of shit that you cant spend 5 minutes in before quitting in disgust. Which is completely false. The games playability is immense. Same as with most RTS games.
You're proving my point. BW pathfinding was great FOR THE 90's. It's not great by 2017 standards. That literally means the game has aged.
Your statement that PC games don't age and console games do is rediculous.
WHY WOULD YOU?????
No MAC version?
Can't wait till the nostalgia waves to crash against the brutal reality that is relearning how to play the game with it's archaic systems after every modern advancement in the last 20 years.
im just sayin after that Diablo 1 fart event.... *FART NOISES*
Hope its a boxed release and not digital only. Usually Blizzard does box release on their games.
Also, didn't hear anything about the FMV's. Are they remastering those are no?
Blizzard, I love you. Thank you so much.
No, not at all. It's just the vocal minority saying it sucks. Was I the only one who loved Starcraft 2? Crazy.
what are the 2017 standards of pathfinding in rts games? Please. About the age issue, if you think about it thats what people on this forum mean. Just now theres a topic about the best looking ps2 games and people are saying most of them are hard to get back to. And those are few year old games. You can fire Maniac Mansion from 87 and play it the same way you do an adventure game that came out last year. You fire Doom from 93 and play it like you do now. Fire Red Alert from 96 and you play it just as you played Grey Goo right now. Pathfinding and small quality of life improvements over the years dont warrant a "the game aged so bad its unplayable" how a lot of people like to exagerate.
Does this confirm Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 remastered in anyone else's minds now?
This better play exactly the same as BW
Well this is the official RIP, to SC2.
Were you trying to run these from original CDs or?I tried to play the original a few years ago, but it was too much of a pain messing with it to getting it to work right on modern hardware.
