Yeah personally I'd love to see MS go for it and create an absolute monster even if that meant the console pushing $500. I think it would do ok and don't really believe in the 'needs to be $400' statement, not when they've already got the standard Xbox One S for the cheaper segment. I don't even think $500 is THAT much for a premium console tbh especially when people are so willing to spend even more than that on other electronic devices.

It being $500 would be a death sentence. They won't do that. It'll be $450 at most. More likely it'll be $400.

Could someone with inside knowledge confirm/hint whether we're getting RDR2 gameplay with Scorpio this upcoming week cause it was mentioned in the other thread and I'm already hyped.
Sony has the marketing deal so unlikely, unless there's some sort of loophole. They'll probably mention 600 times between this and E3 that it will be one of the 4K titles coming to Scorpio this year
The Windowscentral report (which was the first site to report on this, mind you) mentioned RDR2 so I'm still hopeful.
Afaik, that was just a list of games coming this year that would be native 4K. The title of the article was worded to make it sound like it would be one of their showcase titles. I could be wrong tho

I've got a PS4 and Switch, so there's two XB1 options for me:

1) Scorpio has enough power to be worth the hype, I get one and buy all my multiplats on it.

2) Scorpio isn't enough of an upgrade to be interesting, I get an S near the end of the generation for $100-150 and play the few exclusives I'm interested in.

Really hope it turns out to be the first option. I like Microsoft's ecosystem more than Sony's, even though Sony usually has the games I prefer.

Isn't the whole point of this discussion board to share opinions on gaming news? You guys seem a little too sensitive about this topic.
This is about Scorpio possibly being shown off soon. If you want to talk about what Microsoft should or shouldn't do to get you to buy this console, there's a thread specifically for that.

No way. They could do something like Destiny perfume but it ain't getting a gameplay reveal associated with ms. Nor are any of the other big third party titles with deals/exclusive Sony content.

While I love Forza, racing games always look good. I would have hoped they would show Shadow of War or another 3rd party game they have a marketing deal with.

However 4K at 60fps will be amazeballs.

Shadow of War isn't exactly the most graphically stunning game anyway. Assassins Creed will be a good one to show off the hardware

Windows creator update is out on the 11th

I hope this isn't leading to some information about the new features and a "we'll have more to discuss soon"

Oh my lanta!!! Next week is going to be intense for me!!

Aaaahhh i cant wait!

It makes a bit of sense for ms to use eurogamer as the one to talk about hardware/features as they do get a lot of traffic with all of the gamers who actually pay attention to this stuff.

I imagine an article with an interview and detailing the specs along with a video that will launch on the xbox website.

Next there will be a 2nd article more specific on the hardware and what it means for xbox games with some hypotheical guesses on 3rd party possibilities.

Maybe a 3rd article with a face off showing xbox one s vs xbox scorpio.

Price and date revealed at e3.

Thats my guess guys!

It really depends on what Microsoft's goals for this console are, not ours, honestly. If they are fine with it being a niche powerhouse for a while until it slowly replaces the X1S, then launching at that price is fine, especially as it's still setting a power bar PS can't match. If on the other hand they want to try and rapidly establish a power advantage as a sort of do-over on this gen, the lower price is necessary. We haven't really heard anything but generic wait-and-see kind of messaging, so I'm curious if this debut will start giving us an idea, even if they don't mention the price.

$499 wasn't even a death sentence for the original Xbox One
and that console was not well received and had a cheaper AND better competitor

Xbox Scorpio launching at $499 would do fine.
You can always pack in games or cut the price later
The early adaptor will pay that price, if they get enough for their money

I said it numerous times and i will repeat myself.
we will very likely get 2 different skus with different price points
$499 for the more expensive one is totally fine

Eh it kinda was. There's a reason they got rid of Kinect and dropped the price by a lot.

Ok, this was super fucking cool.

On topic: interesting to hear that the design is more compact than had been thought. I was honestly expecting an OG Xbox One style big box. They've had the 6TF target out there for a while, I'm legitimately interested in how efficient they've been in obtaining it. If we get an Xbox One S sized console with 6TF in the box and available for $499 or less, that's an incredible feat.

Yeah. I would imagine it's going to be a big exclusive game. There's no way it could be 2077, right? That's just too big to moneyhat I would imagine.
