My Nintendo Thread: Mii Nintendo, U Nintendo, Wii Nintendo

Honestly at this point I'll like an option to convert Gold coins to Platinum ones. 10 Platinum coins for every one gold would be what I want but at this point I may take 5.

Pikmin DLC worth the 90 coins?
I still haven't even played Pikmin 3, one day!

Jo pls

Yes anything Pikmin is worth it if you have gold points to spare.

(I'm realizing I keep calling them coins. Why why why did they shape them as coins but name them points....)

Drop whatever you are playing and play Pikmin 3. It is probably better. :D

Did everyone notice Shadow Dragon and Birthright both went up by 10 gold coins? Weren't they 20 and 80 gold coins before?

Haha I have even bigger gaming sins which are truly shocking, but I'm trying!
My backlog is ridiculous :(
So what's more for the pile? DLC get, thanks :)

NP! What are you playing right now? Or are you like me where you don't get to play a lot usually? :(

Breath of the Wild. Everyday it's Breath of the Wild. Everything is Breath of the Wild!
I would've said prior to the Switch that I also don't get enough time to play these days... and yet I've just hit 200hrs so I guess I can find the time.
I just need to be more committed!

Is the portable nature of the Switch allowing you to grab a bit of extra time here and there?

BOTW here as well! My wife and I have hit the 100 hour mark which is quite a feat for us these days with how busy we both are, especially her. But the portability hasn't been a factor at all since we play it together. Is the portability helping you get more time in the game? We've been devoting a lot of downtime for it, especially time we'd normally spend watching TV or playing but not as much. The game is just very compelling, despite some things we prefer in other Zeldas to it.

Status at 100+ hrs:

1 Divine Beast, some memories but not a ton, 190+ Korok seeds, 55-60 (?) shrines, still at least two towers to go and some significant sections I think of the currently unlocked map to explore.

(We really like like getting Korok seeds. The "Yahaha!" fills us both with childlike delight. It can be a bit frustrating though when you scour a new area, big or small, and come across surprisingly few or none at all. For example, the B
ottomless
S
wamp
in Hyrule Field is a unique-looking locale in the game. It reminds me of
prehistoric tar pits
. We searched this area high and low to no avail so we looked up to see where the Korok seed was because surely with 900 in the game this unique location would have one. Well, per the interactive map on ZeldaDungeon.net, this area has no Korok seeds. So that was a bit of a bummer. But regardless, it's a real treat to come across them. )

FE Heroes items, if nothing else. Maybe some tickets in Miitomo. May throw some away in Mario Run, too, even though that game is not what I hoped it would be. Have only got all the coins in World 1. Haven't bought the game to this point. Toad Rush is too frustrating, and the time constraints on getting all the
black
coins on one run through is not fun.

This month they removed the time limits on those Miitomo tickets. I hope it's just a slip-up and they're still refreshing them monthly. :(

I love the Korok's too! "Yahaha!" drives my brother crazy so I make sure to crank the volume up every time I find one. I always speak to them after as well... "Twee hee!" It's still somehow charming 300+ times later :D
Hetsu's dancing too! Even something as small as the fact his maracas trails change colour depending on which type of item you're upgrading is a testament to how well designed the game truly is.

As for stats:
3 Divine Beasts, 11 memories, 314 Seeds, 109 Shrines and 1 more Tower to go

I'm actually getting a little sad that it's getting close to the end.
I was against the season pass initially but will end up buying it.
I agree, the game is massively compelling, I was pretty burnt out on open world games too or so I thought. The Switch helps in this regard, even if I'm boiling an egg I'll quickly reach for Zelda and cook something or climb a tree.

I've vowed to not have a backlog on Switch so Zelda's the only game I own and will remain so until it's (sadly) done, only then will I buy another and make sure I play that to completion before moving on.
Well, that's the plan at least.
I give it 6 months.

Oh! I only recently found out there are 900 Seeds and just this week found one by
matching hanging fruit on adjacent trees!
I'm missing so many and I just know it'll be something incredibly obvious that triggers them :lol

Wait, they removed the date but kept the limited number of times you're able to redeem them?
Huh, that's weird... there are drops that require coins only now too. I wonder if they're transitioning away from Tickets?

Those have always existed. Only for special kinds of Miitomo drops it seems.

they pop up from time to time
Yup, this is the second time.
First one was for best-of compilations as well, on New Year.

Huh, that's weird...
For what it's worth, that's how they phased out the Karaoke ticket in Japan as well. And the app rewards are all handled by NCL or maybe Dena.

So I can now get PDFs of old guides?

Well, its uh, something. I may get the Animal Crossing one, since I have 30 gold coins expiring.

These are the new NA rewards:

• Yoshi Siesta Nintendo 3DS™ HOME Menu theme (20 Gold Points)
• 30% off Yoshi's Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3 (Virtual Console™ for Wii U™) (20 Gold Points)
• 20% off Super Mario World™ (Virtual Console for New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL) (160 Platinum Points)

This is the accompanying image:

Edit: BTW, there is a positive trend in NA at least regarding discount coupons from platinum coins. There are now all at least 20% rather than 15% off.

Zonic

Gives all the fucks
20 gold points isn't bad for a theme, the equivalent of $10 digitally. I really hope this means they'll decide to make more paid themes as rewards.

Might just give in & get the Yoshi theme, considering I have 202 gold coins, with 10 expiring this month & 20 more at the end of May.

At least once a week I log in to My Nintendo and just stare at all my unused coins. I sold my 3DS and Wii-U to get my Switch and launch games for free, but now I feel like the service has nothing to offer me. Hoping we get Switch content fairly soon. I'm tired of having like 7000 platinum coins...

Hell, I'd take the ability to just share discount codes with people. I'd probably just buy a ton and give them away.

I redeemed some coins for 20% off SMW on 3DS and then I realized, fuck buying SMW on VC yet again.

Oh well, wasn't using the coins on anything else.

Yeah, and $100 if you plan on buying physical for the Switch.

mods should force that avatar upon people who write that, kind of like how they use that "I don't know how to make an avatar correctly" pic for people who make an inappropriate one

I would support this

just realizing I missed a chance to say "you're" instead of "your" right there ... :D

I see posts mentioning Pikmin 3 DLC but I don't see it. Did that offer already expire?

Digital software almost always has worse sales than physical, it's just the way of the world.

I know this post was old, but...
...I'm just going to point out that this is only true on Nintendo platforms.

Steam sales and PlayStation Flash sales, in particular, are good arguments against the statement. Occasionally there are some decent sales on Xbox too.

I only found the 1 2 Switch and the Super Mario Maker 3DS egg. To be honest, I have no idea where to look for the rest; I feel like I've already looked everywhere. Any tips?

Kart is in the gallery on the inklings. PK Moon on the Pokedex pic. Aunomas knee in the non-cosplay interview. Forgot the last one.

Edit:

Yo-Kai Watch in one of the mode descriptions. Just scroll.

Every time I look for new rewards, I get frustrated that I didn't redeem the "Metroid Fusion for x coins" before it went away. Seems the likelihood of ever getting a free game again is gone for good.

How can I redeem the SwapDoodle DLC? Don't see anywhere to do so in the app, and it doesn't redeem via the eShop.
It is in Swapdoodle. There is a button somewhere near the top that leads you to the DLC shop, and there you can find a code redemption screen, perhaps hidden by an options button that hardly has anything else or something similar.

Thanks a bunch. :)
Found all the rest with your help.^^

Even with all of these I don't even know where to start. Are they on the nintendo.com website? What inkling gallery? What pokedex picture?

I can't seem to find anything even related to these places.

Edit: I guess it's all gone since it's already tuesday too... Oh well.

There was another page with thematic hints and a site-search linked for each egg. It was mostly on the .de site with some dedicated ones thrown into the mix.

It was Nintendo.de.

The standard Mario Kart 8 Deluxe page has a gallery. An egg hovered over the inklings pic.

Standard page for Pokemon Moon has a Pokedex section which comes with a pic. Egg was right on it.

There are two Aonuma interviews on the BotW page. In one he is dressed up as Link, the other had the egg.

Etc.
