With Bruce Willis and Sam Jackson returning.

He's calling it a "crazy comic book thriller" and it will be done through Blumhouse and Universal.

Also, considering he's openly putting it out there now, the ending of Split is no longer a spoiler. I've not stated it directly in this OP, but if you go to his feed... there it is, as part of his announcement via (incorrectly executed) Twitter thread

It'll be talked about openly below, I'd imagine, seeing as it's basically now news.

They also need to put in you know who... Although I don't think he will publicly announce his involvement.

Damn, 17 years. Part of the first one was filmed at my elementary school while I was there. Time flies.

Nooooo. I thought the movie was the perfect "one and done" story of what being a real life superhuman might entail. And bring Mr. Glass back? I dunno about this. I heard Split was good but I'm not sure how this is gonna turn out.

I worry that Bruce will phone in a performance, though we can always count on Sam Jackson to give 110% to literally anything.

also this thread should win because the other one's a giant fuckin' spoiler title.

er...I don't know about this.

But as always, it'll come down to the quality of the film. If it sucks, the unneeded nature of such a sequel will sting even more. If it's great, then that'll be a pleasant surprise.

Didn't Split basically confirm something was in the works? 🤔 I'm not going into detail for those who haven't watched it yet.

Split was just as bad as his other recent films, pretentious, up it's own ass, hammy and ludicrously dumb, so I have no hope for this sequel.

It should've happened ages ago though.

Is it? I haven't seen Split. Just assumed they both occurred in the same universe. I guess it's one of those spoilers that is only spoilery if you've already seen the movie.

I'm gonna be curious to see how this works seeing as both Split and Unbreakable's big "twists" (such as they are) aren't really twists, but more the last-second realization that you've been watching a superhero movie the whole time.

He did it once in 2000, he did it again about 20 years later - I wonder how it'll play when you head into the theater 100% knowing you're about to get an indie comic instead of a high-concept thriller/drama.

Speaking as someone who probably has Unbreakable among their top five favourite films of all time...part of me is absolutely ecstatic about this, and part of me feels this has come too late.

I liked SPLIT a lot up until the ending, where I really disliked
how they skipped over any real closure for the main character's abuse story line to get to the UNBREAKABLE crossover.
. It bothered me too much to feel any hype from the twist.

He's saying it's called GLASS on twitter now. McAvoy and Ana Taylor-Joy are returning as well. Jan 2019 release date
