LEGO |OT6| We Only Build in Black. And Sometimes Very Dark Grey.

I thought the exploding feature on the Quadjumper was a joke... appears to be real. It's also a bit smaller than I thought. It looks cool but I would have rather had something else from TFA.

The quad jumper is gonna appear in the upcoming Forces of Destiny show, so that's probably how they justify making it a set this late

The problem is that TFA didn't give us a lot of cool new ships, vehicles or locations for LEGO to work with. Sure, there were a few things we haven't already gotten, like the walkers at Starkiller Base, but they hardly had any screen time. The one thing we are missing is the Finalizer, but I'm sure that coming as a System and/or UCS set at some point.

I think The Last Jedi will have more material for LEGO to work with.

Forces of Destiny? First i've heard of that... Will that replace Rebels then or what?

Also: Anyone here own the 10191 Tantive IV? I am considering to ebay it but prices vary between 300 and 400 euro. Hmmm worth it? Did the model hold up since it's from 2009? Does it have many stickers which will by now be old and have all but crumbled?

canon short adventures featuring the women of Star Wars. you can see the quadjumper briefly as a pre-production render in that video

Finished Grand Emporium. Probably my least favorite to build of the three I own, but it does look great. Can't wait to add Town Hall next week!

The Quadjumper looks pretty cool imo. Honestly cant remember it in detail in TFA but thats a pretty solid design. Might jump in.

Bounty hunters/First Order BPs and the Darth Vader set are all on the list already. Finally jumping into/not resisting Star Wars Lego and it feels goood.

I'm actually really liking the Quadjumper. It's the only SW set that I like from that line up.

Guess they're waiting for TLJ. Hopefully there's some cool sets here; how far in advance will they leak?

So wish I could find a reasonably priced Town Hall. Almost more for the minis than anything...also wish I could magically make another big wall appear somewhere in my house so I could put up shelves to display the modulars.

GAF BST saved me I had written off going back any further than Grand Emporium but the price was really good. Still tempted by the Fire Brigade over there.

I've been absent lately, catching up on all this new stuff has me hyped.

I cannot WAIT until June 1st to grab the Saturn V. It looks glorious.

The new first order battle pack is much better for army building glad i only bought 10 of the first one and didnt go all in like i wanted to

Can't wait for the Quadjumper! Looks great for a relatively cheap set. The double-seat cockpit also seems to allow minifigs to be pretty visible when closed.

Grabbing the Bounty Hunter pack and (maybe) Vader's Transformation from that wave too.

I REALLY like the Arrowhead design, but it bothers me that it's just canon-adjacent
(AKA not canon at all)
And Tracker I looks nice, but I'll wait for a TIE Defender remake.

OT was very similar really, not a ton of vehicles in each movie, only a couple added in each sequel. TFA was very similar, while with the PT, it felt like a toy commercial, where every other scene had a new vehicle, character, or trooper variant to turn into an eventual toy.

It's taken me a while to get this section of the batcave complete after numerous attempts trying to fix the jerky motion. I finally settled on something I can tolerate even if it's a bit noisy. Inspired by the LEGO Batman movie but not a direct copy

Imagine this behind a rock wall of the cave with a platform in front

Video in action

I also got some cheap LED strips and wired them up, loosely roughing out the shape of the cave. I've actually shortened this tower (taken out 2 rows of scaffolding) and added colour lights to the arches behind

Nah it's not where near presentation stage yet.

I spent some more time building tonight on the bottom half, the opening to the vehicle turntable is meant to look like a bat symbol eventually, I started on the left bottom half and then mirrored and mockedup the rest in photoshop to make sure it'll work. I may need brighting lighting inside to make it pop though but I'll wait and see.

o5005B5.jpg

Above and on either side of the opening will be water and a waterfall spilling over. With that center blue column coming up from the middle of the water and the grey archways around the water. On top of that center column will be the bat computer, again, bat-shaped

Oh fucking hell... every time i manage to kind of finish a tedious little MOC i was working on for months on end, Wetwired or someone else here pops up and shows off this jaw dropping, amazing stuff where i feel like i may as well throw my MOC into the trashcan right now to get it over with ;( lol

Seriously though, how DO you do it man? I mean, how do you fit all those building hours into your life? I am trying to get on it right when i have a good idea in my head but then life always manages to mess things up. Maybe having a little kid and working is part of it but then i bet some of you guys still manage even with that.

I really need to get on sorting my Lego bins too, that would help i bet :(

Rant over, that cave looks bonkers in all the right ways.

I wonder how big the box would be if Lego actually sold this.

So it seems besides black panther & jaguar versions there will also be a tiger one fpr the new big cat mould.
Otherwise ... can't see anything special.

I like the idea of this theme but as always with City (and 90% of themes) the focus is too heavy on vehicles

Arctic, volcano and this could have been far more adventurous but they just revert to diffierent coloured helicopters or planes.

The big set could have been a cool jungle temple

I don't fit it all in lately, I'm concerned it won't be done in time ready for the expo in June at the rate I'm going and I have no idea how I'm going to transport it. At the moment I'm just isolating the core features of the cave and working backwards on how they're going to fit together, which even that I haven't figured out yet.

I'm going to decorate and finalize the bottom section now in the event that's all I have to take to the expo at least it will look ok, hopefully? But even that is gonna take a week or 2. I've been doing not much else at home apart from sleep, 2-3 hours a night after work. In some ways I wish I could just cancel it for the June show and take my time and do it properly for the October show which is my LUGs main expo.

Also this is something I've been working on since last year when I started with the platform business and the MOCs for the Burton and Animated series batmobiles

Yeah, I am having the same issues with my big project. I had already decided I wasn't going to have my caves ready for June and so I was just going to have the above ground areas done at least but now I actually technically do not even need to finish that since all my actual job related work got delayed and now I have more work in June than time so I am not going to Brickworld Chicago this year. Gives me more time to perfect everything at least. I was really looking forward to going this year too :/

Yeah I didn't get a chance for my previous batcave so I'll either include pictures of it in the video for this or something. I will probably go over the Batmobiles and the batwing seperately too in another video

the Falcon arrived this morning, yay! Not sure what to do with the R2 polybag though, do you think it'll be worth something in the future?

Its been selling for ~$30 on Ebay as of today. Hard to say, depends if they somehow pull more from their asses and they show up again in the future as a promo (like the mini VW camper) or a third party store (like TC-4 showing up at Mastermind Toys well after the S@H promo). But it sold out, has a couple if custom printed pieces you wont find anywhere else, and R2 is an iconic character; I think this poly has some potential ($50 to $60 easy) as long as the market doesn't become saturated.

U-Wing is on sale at Fry's for $42.90 after their daily promo code. Available for pick up or shipping. I just picked one up and they had a stack of them still.

Still trying to decide if I want the Saturn V or not. Leaning yes, and I think it'd look pretty good in my office too. But I could get Palace Cinema instead. Hm...

Damn, I need that Saturn. Hopes the EU price doesn't get jacked up (too much) outside of Germany. (Even 20% more expensive it will be a steal offcourse)

I finished my new modular without resorting to Bricklink. Almost. I need four more angled slopes for the roof, but luckily they come in one of the available Microfighters, so I'll grab that tomorrow.

Hopefully my actual Bricklink orders for my NEXT modular start arriving too, so I have another to put together :D.
