Its playable from the start.
Actually, I'm not sure this is true. A friend came over yesterday and did a fresh start on his profile, and I think he needed to at the very least open the first Festival in the main game, if not the first site expansion. Which isn't bad, and gives you your bearings, but people should know what to expect.
Yes, for such a classy dev, to have a SEPERATE expansion pass (even reduced) AND seperate car packs, is a bit cheap.
I probably would have a paid a tenner extra (on top of Ultimate edition) to get those in, but it does feel as if they are rinsing the brand out with all of these DLC extras.
I theoretically agree with you (and I take complete issue with the "Ultimate Edition" naming convention), but since each part of the game (core game, car pass, each expansion) has content at or above the amounts seen in other games, I can't say
cheap is quite the right word, at least put against the asking price. Well, VIP feels more like a "tip" to the dev, which I hope other people understand too.
Having an "Ultimate" edition and then having later DLC outside of it
needs to change, because that's totally misleading (even if details are specified in the description). I still think the amount of content in each bite is worth giving a nod.
