NBA 2017 Playoffs |OT| WE DID IT

I'm all for two more superteams to be formed in the nba, one in each conference. Hayward in Boston won't change a thing though.

I select the Bulls to be that team in the East.

Lebron did Olynyk dirty lol

Crazy how many chicken wings has Lebron served on these Celtics players. Like Every drive fro a layup at least 2 players gets a chicken wing to the chest from Bron.

IT can play off ball. He's the 3rd highest score in the NBA. He'd be a perfect mentor for Fultz, in the way he can play both on and off ball, is also from that Washington area, and would draw attention away from that star rookie.

Mostly, the way IT can play off ball is the biggest thing for me. It increases his versatility like crazy
I feel like IT is being sold short here a bit, no pun intended. He's clearly exceptional. Maybe you don't want him to have to be *the guy* to score or you lose, but that's not his fault; that's a roster composition issue and he's not the GM. Add a Hayward or a Paul George and the pressure (and double teams) are off of IT and he gets what he wants more often. Very few people are really consistent on that Boston team. Just IT and Avery can be expected to show up on the offensive end every night. That's really hard. Reminiscent of the Cavs squads that LeBron carried to the ECF and Finals that got bodied by the Spurs. That had like...Jamario Moon and Larry Huges as feature 2 guards. With Eric Snow as the starting PG. Remember that shit? Good to get through the regular season and maybe a few playoff series with enough hard wins and miraculous play from LeBron, but not enough help to deal with more talented teams. Just not consistent enough or skilled enough.

Feels like that's where the C's are right now. Back court is solid enough; 3-5 = ehhhhhhhhh. Get IT and Avery some reliable offensive help...talent good enough to command double teams or at least considerable respect and the C's are good enough to get to the Finals. Maybe. But they need to unload Horford. He's a bum.

As a Cav fan, I feel you. Stars leaving small market franchises like ours is a gut punch that Celtics and Lakers fans don't understand and never will. Makes you not even want to watch the sport anymore.
I weap in advance for Bucks and Wolves fans who will sooner or later see KAT and Giannis walk for greener pastures unless they take a supermax (which is possible since they'll make the all-nba teams perpetually).

Giannis fucking loves Milwaukee. His response to the garden game winner was that he'd rather do it at home, his brother is going to the local college, and he wasn't that far from being on the streets selling trinkets when he got drafted by them. Not only that, but he also is being surrounded by talent on that team. Franchise player.

He averaged career high shot attempts and points this season.
And Curry was deferring to make KD feel at home. You see that happening all that much anymore? Since the PS, Klay has not gotten the same love. Some of it is KD, the other is coaching, some of it is himself but it's not just one issue.

like most guards tbf
IT is historically bad though. Not as noticeably vs solid to good teams, but great teams will abuse him.

I'm OK with keeping IT.

But he shouldn't be the best player on the team. He shouldn't be the primary option. He reminds me of Welker a bit. Incredibly hard working. Very productive. But the Patriots didn't win a championship with him. They brought in larger receivers and they've won two titles.

I don't think the Celtics can win with IT as the best or second best player on the team.

What does it matter, until CLE and GS are broken up or retired, the league will continue to be skewed with just those two teams.

could be worse. I'm over here wishing I could have the luxury of watching my hornets get swept in the ECF. though we wouldn't have been lucky enough to get the first pick in the draft.

Lebron will, eventually, start to decline. Until then, the Cavs will rule the east.

Golden State has more pieces involved. It's going to be tough to keep it together.

They are close then. Al is top 40 the rest are outside the top 75. They are almost there. How did they win 50 games 🤔🤔🤔
Brad is honestly a really good coach.

Also Avery "Can literally take the ball whenever he wants to" Bradley is a top 50 player

FTFY. Where LeBron goes is where the swing of power in the East goes. Until he starts to show huge signs of decline.

I don't see GS having much problem, as far as keeping Steph, Klay and Draymond goes. I don't see the trio breaking up anytime soon, or ever.

I hear yeah.

IT can be a second best player .All they need to do is get a top 5 player which shouldn't be difficult.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about this.... They are not getting a top 5 guy anywhere...

Maybe, and a big maybe, they could compete if they can produce with a super strong group of #2-7 players, by adding Griffin, Hayward and Gallinari for scoring options away from IT... On top of that, they still need some Frontcourt defense, but Dedmon
isn't leaving SA, does Bogut have anything left?

1) IT/Fultz
2) Bradley/Smart
3) Hayward/Brown/Jae
4) Griffen
5) Horford

This is going to be a very interesting off-season/draft for the Celts on figuring out if they want to bother trying to be a contender now, or try to completely build for the future in 3-5 years by working with all these "assets"

LeBron won't decline until age 36 or older at this point

As I've said before, he's gonna rest about half the season at this rate because all he needs is 40 wins to get in the playoffs.

If he's smart he should play the beginning until Christmas , rest until feb, play the all star game, play games in April

LeBron W

Silver would step in if Lebron was trying to rest half the season, I'm not sure you understand how this would affect the dynamics of the league lol

So assuming that the Celtics keep IT and draft Fultz, which other guards do the Celtics keep?

50/50 between Smart and Bradley being gone, I could see either way. Both are signed for next year, Smart is cheaper but Bradley is better. Rozier is definitely staying around unless some team gets stupid.

One of Bradley or Smart is absolutely getting packaged for something IMO.

Now that I looked, the Celtics payroll goes for nearly 35 million US fucking dollars less than the Cavs. The second highest salary on the Celtics, Amir, would be the 5th on the Cavs. This is almost a MLB style disparity.

Cavs core is entirely from pre-existing players, pick up from the waiver wire, d-learning signings, trades (and the way David Griffin has expertly used trade exceptions), and the LeBron signing.

Sort of nutty. Richard Jefferson is the only one who doesn't fit this

It's a chaotically built roster, the kind that throws away any sense of good team building thanks to having the best player in the world and some lucky bounces in the lottery.

Not really, no. It's a not exactly a homegrown roster, but David Griffin as a gm has been really smart at surrounding LeBron with love, Frye, Korver, deron Williams, shumpert, etc. and picking up players like Derrick Williams, trading for JR, both of whom suddenly reformed by being next to LeBron, becoming better more professional players

Really surprised no one paid JR in the off season

You need a guy that can hit 3's more than ever.
I'd rather max out JR than Evan shitty Turner

Age and probably his past crazy behavior may have affected his off season last year. Seems like he only works because Bron somehow keeps his head straight for the most part.

Celtics need a big man in the paint who can score at will and compliment IT. Cousins was that guy they should got back in Feb. They would be much better and more competitive against the Cavs right now. Horford is garbage and doesn't deserve the $ he is getting.

Cousins is incredibly unreliable

If he turns things around with the Pels next season then you might be right but as of now Danny did the right thing.
