Just got my Gear VR from the promotion.

You can. But you have to get the APK from some third-party site. It won't change stuff like the Notification shade, just what you seen whenever you press the Home button.
Personally, I use Action Launcher 3 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore) - it's great, and can be made to look like the Pixel Launcher very easily (options are laid out much better than in Nova Launcher, for example).

As far as I see, you can install it from the Play Store. But the Google Now Launcher is pretty much deprecated, hasn't been updated for years.

snap window i think might be some of the best interface design i've experienced on a phone, period.
the way it works is near flawless execution of multitasking on a cell phone dispaly ..even the way it handles bringing up the keyboard .. unlike past versions of multi window i don't have to deal with floating keyboards in an effort to keep my apps in view. and yeh... just the fact the app is live too.. fits in perfectly with the taller form factor.

Yep. People hate on Samsung bloat, but they fix up half ass Google features lol. If only they cared more about performance and memory management, this would be the ultimate phone.

Why doesnt smart lock work when im in a trusted place. Ugh ..... always have to restart my phone to get it to work. -____-
Same issue here. Like, what the fuck is the issue? It's not difficult.
Yeah it's all screwed up. Either is doesn't trust the device in a specific place, or it'll trust it everywhere and security goes out the window. That has to be fixed in the next update

Smart Lock itself is just broken. That's an Android thing more than a S8 thing.

BAH! Hopefully Google will update the smart lock feature because it is wonderful when i bluetooth into my car or when i turn on my earbuds as i'm at the gym. But i guess im a little relieved its not just me and im not going crazy haha.

haha! i think smartlock worked for be for about 2 weeks when i was first introduced to the feature. After that and all of the google updates, its hit or miss now. I just got a bit spoiled having my phone unlock without my FP/Code/Face when i got home, those extra .5 seconds are mind numbing

We just got it in our company store! So now I can replace my work Galaxy Note 3 with an S8+, I haven't paid for a phone or bill in 7 years either

It's great. Can fold into a stand as well. Only wish aod worked with it.

It seems it's only the CL final that's in VR, and both are locked to region (UK only?)
Been using a skin since a week after launch. Haven't dropped it yet, but I'm not really afraid to either unlike my s7(also skinned).It does take away from the feel a bit and I kind of want take it off, but the rear get's dirty so quick. I was already noticing some tiny scratches from work too.

This is what I did for the past week. Original Samsung screen protector and clear-coat for the back. Then a kid bumped against my table and caused my phone to fly to the ground. Fortunately it landed on soft dirt instead of concrete/tar.
Bought the toughest case I could find the next day. Loving the UAG Monarch...it doesn't add too much bulk to the sides unlike Spigen cases and it feels like it could withstand a stampede.

I need some help with chargers and this phone. Specifically the euro version, so I have an Exynos.
From what I understand, all variants of the S8 should support QC2.0?
Currently, only the Samsung adapter displays "fast charging" when plugged in.
My QC 2.0 charger from Aukey, my Nexus 5x USB-c Charger, and another Aukey regular charger (with 5v/2.4A output) don't. The aukey regular one even charges slowly, while displaying "fast charging" on my Nexus 5x.
So I am a bit confused now, as so far, only the official charger is showing the fast charging message, while the others do not, but I want to buy another QC charger and I am not sure/confused if QC2.0 or 3.0 chargers work at all now, except for the official one.

QC2.0 is Snapdragon only I believe.
Should work with the Exynos, from what I was able to find. Weird.

My QC2.0 charger charges my friends Exynos S7 really fast from his own words (he only had a regular one and after using my QC2.0 charger bought one immediately for himself)
When I plug in my S8 (into QC2.0 or my Nexus 5x rapid charger), it shows a similar estimated charging time as on the official charger, but no mention of fast/slow charging. Which confuses me, especially since the Exynos might work with QC, but nothing official is known.
I just want to buy another charger, not sure to just get a second official one from Sammy, or a QC one. Both are the same price though but this uncertainty what my or may not fast charge kinda irks me a bit.
Like when you hit the power button? Not getting any Vibration for me.

Is it me or does the Samsung Swipe keyboard word prediction suck complete balls? Coming from a Xperia and I thought that one was bad...jees, I have to swipe the word I want 4 times before I get it...and the wrong suggestions I get are so hilariously bad...like, words I'd never use in a million years. So either the word dictionary isn't remembering my most common used words or the functionality is glitchy. Thought it was my fingers but my girlfriend has a Samsung and she's experiencing the same thing. Anyone else?
