Some Quick Tips:
  • Try all the classes but don't totally give up on any until you've got it to level 15. Sadly their perk system is still a little sloppy and a lot of the classes don't feel good/useful until you're 2-3 perks deep.
  • Aim for the head, always, and forever
  • Team balance isn't really important until you hit the last two difficulties (Hell on Earth, Suicidal) and you don't want to fuck with any of those until you've got something to 15+
  • Give money if someone asks and you can spare. Don't sell your dead teammates weapons. Give them back when they respawn/next shop opens.

Thanks for the tips, if anyone else wants to share any newbie tips that would be great, looking forward to diving into this tonight.

As I said in the other thread, this game is a load of fun and the player base is about to go into overdrive. I'm loving my Zed killing preacher.

I won a loot box of sorts but I don't have any keys to open it. Is it possible to win a key by playing or do I always need to spend real money? If it's the latter (and I don't have plans to spend money on this game yet) do I keep the loot box or do I trash it?

Oh, not this shit again. You can't open boxes without purchasing keys with real money?

Can anyone explain to me or at least point me to a good source to figure out how the loot/crafting systems work in this?

I randomly got a hat after one match but I'm not sure why? Also there seems to be a crafting system and I have no clue how to engage with that either?

I'm playing medic for the first time ever, and it's pretty great. No one else seems to want to, so I always feel like I'm having a huge impact on the team. I'm also surviving a lot more than normal, because I'm looking at the other players instead of the enemies and I'm not getting separated as often.

So how long does it take for this game to finish installing? Mine says "still installing" when I try to access the online despite this being finished downloading for a couple hours now.

My god, I know playing on console I would be playing with some greenhorns, but shit on my balls and call me Sally these fucks are clueless. I just practically carried an entire game as a medic. Half the team was constantly dying because they're unaware of the existence of armor so I had to do natural selection and heal the guys who somewhat knew what they were doing.

I even had to do most of the killing with a double-barreled shotgun. Everyone but me died at the beginning of wave 9 so I had to clear the entire thing by myself. I barely made it running around looking for ammo. Then everyone died on the boss and I ended up barely killing it by myself at the end.

Overall, it was intense as fuck and I'm glad they managed and were of some use, but goodness gracious, apply yourself people.

I think a server browser or "search multiple difficulties" would do wonders for this on console. Probably too late for either, anyway is the Firebug still trash tier? I heard it was bad around launch but I enjoyed playing it.

They don't deserve you, stratmeister.

Just played my first game of this on PS4 since it's free with Plus, brings back SO MANY MEMORIES of playing the original...these games are so much fun

Maybe it's different on PS4 but you can recycle crates / USBs into crafting materials on PC.

Whats the deal with it taking forever to find a match?

I dont for a second believe there arent enough people playing to find matches. They need to fix their servers.

I'd be in the dick
Played for a while solo last night and had a lot of fun. Gunplay and controls are great and performance seemed top notch, especially since I heard it was rather inconsistent.

Leveled up my Gunslinger to level 9 and I have no real complaints. The game is fun and poppin Sirens in the face with a Desert Eagle is aaaaaamazing.

What's up with granade and rocket launchers behaving as shotsguns in this game? They only detonate like 25% of the time. It's almost a gamble at this point.

Evolved1

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything

They need to travel a certain distance before the explosive will arm. Not far enough and they're basically just a slug.

It's so you don't shoot at your own feet an abuse the lack of self-inflicted friendly fire damage.

It also gives demo a big weakness. You have to rely on teammates to give you space.

In KF1, they explode at any range and they also had a grenade launcher that can shoot 6 nades in a row without reloading. Demo was freaking strong in that game.

Note: Scrakes are highly resistant against explosives, but are very weak against impact damage. They actually take more damage from rocket impact than the rocket explosion.

Like they need to do IRL. But I think it is even further IRL often. But donät you get hurt by your own stuff? Like grenades. I mostly play as Medic and that grenade of course heals you. But in KF1 the standard was when you was stuck and fucked you threw grenades to take as many as you could with you. The grenade killed you but everything around you as well.

Fore newcomers, i'd say the most fun classes to play as that i've found would be:

-Support
-Demo
-SWAT
-Commando

The others are fun too but those i think are probably the most enjoyable early on.

Also, top tip, always, always, ALWAYS buy armour. You wont survive without it.

Thanks for bumping the thread. I have found it to be pretty fun so far but the grind is a little longer than I would have liked. Its pretty easy so far as well I think I am going to venture into the harder difficulties.

I am like level 8 on support and level 3 on beserker.

This game is really a blast saved in surprised much fun in having even with randoms. I still don't understand the perks as class system since you can use another classes weapons. It also seems it takes forever to level up or I just suck. Would love to get don't GAF games in later tonight on PS4...
