Friday the 13th: The Game |OT| You and your friends are dead. GAME OVER

I wonder if they might consider revising the look of the main menu into slow panning shots of the lakeshore, woods, and moon with grass and trees swaying in the wind etc and the occasional shot of Jason's grave or a machete sticking out of the ground. I'd like to save seeing the man himself for the actual matches and have the main menu have a more calm before the storm vibe.

it just sorta bumblefucks a lot of tactics ive seen people try where they put traps around entrances. maybe I just gotta learn to play around it, that teleport is hard to beat.

The defense is that this ability has a cooldown, AND Jason needs to spot you first to use it. Shift is fine and working as intended imo, you're not meant to be able to escape every game, no matter how good you are. And that's as it should be.

Shift is fine, what's kinda bullshit is the instant grab out of shift. It does have a big fudge zone, and even if someone is attempting to zig zag and dodge, you often will get instant grab right out of shifting even if your arm is nowhere near the counselor.

A slight delay on being able to grab out of shift would be a big help to countering this and at least give folks a chance.

This game is still so incredibly fun to me. Most fun I've had in a multiplayer game since Left 4 Dead 2. Also, looks like achievements work better in private matches. I've unlocked several that way.

My new pet peeve is people who go into buildings but don't close doors. I think people don't realize that opens the door for Jason to shift into buildings.

its not so bad just got to drink some of your juke juice

Yeah, you mostly just need to buy time and get some distance from him before he unlocks shift. It just seems like any time I run into Jason in the really early-game stages they just never leave you alone. I usually just try to run towards a group of people to hopefully shake him off.

Yeah, gotta be careful running into Jason early game. Sometimes he'll just tunnel vision you until he gets shift.

I was the last person alive waiting for the cops as Tommy, had like 45 seconds left and someone told Jason where I was. Even heard Jason communicating with the person and asking how much time was left. Thought GAF private matches were above that shit. Not cool.

Should probably not party up with those dudes again. Assholes.

Also. Week 2 on Xbox and still dealing with server crashes and matchmaking issues. I hope it works soon lol

hes real easy to fake out and hide behind a tree or outhouse early game

Not if it's a running Jason, you pretty much have little you can do and have very minimal chance of getting away.

If it's a slow Jason, it's not difficult to just follow someone till you unlock abilities. Part 6 starts with throwing knives, so can easily just grind you down immediately.

Yeah, unfortunately in this scenario the best thing to do is the dick thing to do and try and run to another counsellor and hope you can get Jason to follow that one instead of you.

It depends on the Counselor really. If you've got someone like Buggsy you can absolutely outrun the hell out of any Jason. Now if it's a stealth character like AJ or LaChappa you can go ahead and kiss your ass goodbye. That's why equip the perk that starts me with firecrackers so if I do get hemmed down when spawning I can buy my self enough time to haul ass away.

Yeah if you encounter a Part 2 or Part 3 Jason early game it's going to fucking suck for you if you're one of the counselors who doesn't have good speed or stamina. This is also why you should practice the buddy system in this game.

If its a running Jason and I spawn near a car I just run away from it as fast as I can

Even then, throwing knives right away. The cabin you start in has throwing knives in it, within first minute with a slow jason you already have knives in your reach even if you aren't part 6 Jason, and can teleport right next to a counselor. Jason still has to hit you, but even the fast ones can easily get pelted down with the knives and taken out right at the start.

It just sucks obviously that you can get into no one situations in the first minute of play. It sucks, I typically just leave match if I got stuck in one of those moments. I've felt bad about doing it to someone that fast when playing Jason, but as a counselor I just usually just take the L.

Dont think much could be done to fix the unlucky start possibility though

I think shift should be relegated outside of cabins. if anything increase Jason's run/walk speed while in pursuit.

What counselor is the most balanced or fastest at least? Info seems hard to find in game.

Should you always barricade doors to? At least to let some one know the house has already been searched.

Barricading doors is something, in my opinion, you should always do because

1) It lets people know the cabin has been checked
2) It gives you or anyone else a place to hide/recover stamina for a few moments if you're running from Jason

I made this when I started playing. IDK how helpful it actually is, but it might make a decent reference.

Would be OP but it make sense if there was a perk like that. I have perks that spawn you with firecrackers, med spray, and a radio. Would be odd that knife is left out.

Got one that spawns with a bat.

Too bad the hitbox and registration is atrocious. Why does it feel like my weapons just slide off Jason. Is it doing damage? Is this supposed to be doing damage? Cmon.

Jason is an ugly, deformed serial killer but I'm glad he still has the time to button his shirt, tuck them, and put on his belt.

The hit registration in the game is pretty awful, mixed in with all the moments that Jason is considered invincible, it makes for a janky feeling combat.

Yeah that sometimes happens and it's especially annoying when you have a bat and the shots should be connecting

Found gas, battery and car keys in houses right next to each other. I also found the fuse and called police 30 seconds into the match. No one on the team died and that will never happen again lol.

Oh man finding the phone fuse and calling the cops early is the best feeling. To me it always seems like you can roam the map a little more freely once the cops arrive because Jason players usually patrol the exit like a hawk.

I have a perk that will bring the cops 30% quicker if I make the call, yet I can never find phone parts =/

Thats when you also use the psychic perk so you know when someone has the phone parts and where the phone house is so you can go call and get them there quicker

Ugh. Two games in a row and the host quits as soon as they die.

It's seriously starting to feel like the only games that get to the end are ones where the host is Jason.

I really wish you got XP regardless. It's taking forever to level up.

Well it does kind of suck to sit and watch for 10 minutes if you die right away. Although I do..

They need to fix that next update.
