I mean...that could work. It's still a Kasden script, so having someone as reliable as Howard has potential for a fun movie.

Still a bummer, though.

Yeah, that was okay - not great though. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable giving him the reins here.

Rush has a 75 Meta, 8.6 user avg (meta), was 89% fresh, has an 88% audience score on RT and an 8.1 on IMDB.

It's definitely what one would consider "great", when looking at 5 very popular review aggregators (critical and user score)

Three-quarters of the way through filming, and bringing in Ron Howard. What a wild ride.

I imagine he'll finish what they have planned, but with his own style, and then reshoot the 75% done already during the reshoot time likely in the fall. I don't think any of Lord and Miller's footage is going to make its way into the final film.

It'll be super interesting to see when we might get a trailer. If it doesn't hit around or with The Last Jedi, they are scrapping everything they did.

I'd personally lose a bit of my soul if I said rogue one was "great".

Serviceable movie with decent action, horrendous script ( nothing new for Star Wars granted ) and bland characters.

Kadsan was in the cut seething. "God dammit Kathleen, I didn't wait all these years for barely any of my dialogue to be used! Get these fools out of here!"

Methinks we're about to see a real stinker from Star Wars. T'was bound to happen eventually with all of these silly ideas Disney has for all of these Star Wars films. One of them (or more) has gotta suck.

And it has to be this one. Just the way it is.

This isn't going to magically become a Ron Howard movie, just like Rogue One didn't become a Tony Gilroy movie

They're getting a pro to line shit back up with the screenplay the way Kasdan/Kennedy want. Whatever Howard does is likely not going to be enough to either take Lord & Miller's names off the credit block, or get his name put on it.

If they get him, they're getting Opie to coast this over the finish line and into the editing room where they can cut things into the shape they want. That's it.

I like Ron Howard -- Apollo 13 is one of my favorite movies of all time! -- but he's a weird choice to piece together a Lord and Miller film.

Then again, given his involvement in Arrested Development, maybe it's not that left field of a choice.

Dem Disney bucks at work. Some people out there will not sleep until this is resolved.

Lucasfilm. Disney doesn't have any creative control over Star Wars. I don't know why people insist on this assumption that Disney calls any shots over there. This is not new information.

They just need someone to put the pieces together competently. Howard could do this in his sleep.
