Overwatch |OT10| That'll do pig, that'll do

Is your PSN the same as your name here?

I only played 2 comp games tonight because playing solo is insane.

Second game I played our team had a 2 stack and 4 solo, surprisingly everyone was on mic, the 2 stack picks Hanzo and Mercy, everyone else is talking about who to play, the Hanzo chimes in "well you guys need another healer cause this is my Mercy."

I laughed it off but sure enough the Mercy solely healed the Hanzo and when he would die she would purposely get herself killed to spawn with Hanzo again.

Yeah its the same, feel free to shoot me a FR I play everyday.

Everyone taking advantage of her Ult bug right now.

Yeah. I don't know if the bug is quite OP enough for people that are bad at Orisa to play her, but she went from my 3rd choice of tank to 1st thanks to it.

4-3 tonight, and yet gained a net 37 SR thanks to Orisa.

There are nights where 4-3 would net lose me SR, so I'm happy with this result.

One leaver on a very winnable game could have otherwise made this 5-2 and a completely different overall result, but what can you do. 1 out of 7 games being affected by throwers/leavers isn't terrible, just unfortunate the one leaver game was on my side this time.

Kinda bummed out, was just 1 game away from gold yesterday, had a few bad games today but I was still mid 1900s, then dced due to a rainstorm and now I'm 1908, kinda lost the motivation to play :/

Any ps4 players can add me, it's like 3:30 am so I'm gonna crash but I'll accept in the morning.

I don't care what rank you are or if you use a mic or not it's wutever.

That sucks, but I find there's often a win streak to follow a losing streak, which is kinda fun in it's own right. Like all the benefits of smurfing for easy wins with none of the guilt of being a shameless jerk as a smurf.

I've thought about making a smurf just to fuck around in Comp but I don't wanna be that guy. I feel nothing from throwing or experimenting and ruining people's games. So I'll stick with my main account through thick and thin.

A wise choice. I had to deal with a lot of smurf accounts tonight, most of which were throwing the game just for the hell of it.

Hmmm overwatch in the morning during the week in eu is not bad at all. I get matched in master ranked games and no throwers.

To bad I normally have to work lol

I was thinking of playing hanzo a lot this season but it's not worth it, even as it is, playing as characters that I'm confortable with is still hard as hell because of the throwers. If I picked hanzo things would go to shit even more frequently and my alt would be at gold or silver by now lol

I just play like I would on my main with the exception that I never pick support unless I'm feeling like to. A lot of people throw games when no one wants to go support, or don't pick the characters they think that should be picked.

It's baffling really. I can understand if no one wants to play support, but there are a lot of characters in the game with self healing or shields that are better than the widow/hanzo combo.

Haven't had issues with randoms picking Support in my recent Comp games. It was either Lucio or Mercy or both. I felt like playing Zen and the couldn't even do that because of it. Way less people seem to want to play tanks tho. I've had to go Dva or Zarya depending on who was chosen.

That's the opposite of my experience. I've played >50 games this season starting at ~8am and I would say that 80% of the games had throwers.

I was not having fun at all when I played 2 days ago, haven't played since. Awful stuff really.

What you experience is what happens to me at night all the time.

I've been win / lose / win / lose pretty much every time I play so I never gain or lose sr its pretty boring.

Yeah when we played together before at late afternoon the games were a mess for the most part.

I remember having some good soloq games at 2-3am in the first seasons, but now since there's gaf people usually playing at those ours I end up in american servers.

I think playing an off character on an alt account is nothing but good, as long as you don't use your main characters on it. Matchmaking will work out where your off character account should be and no harm would be done at all.

Playing an off character on your main account is a little worse, but I guess a teammate worth climbing should carry for you anyway, and it isn't so bad if you're willing to switch.

I'd also put out an exception for people making bronze to gm type videos as an educational tool, as long as they give their account to a bronze player or get a group of 6 to all throw placements.

It's just random people that purposefully throw games in 1-5 man groups, or smurf just to have easy wins that are the irredeemable scum of Overwatch.

I've been lose lose win all day this week, slowly dropping in SR. I would just like some normal games without throwers or attack widows when we have the cap advantage.

Maybe we're doing it wrong. Maybe we should be the ones making shitty picks to force the other guys to form a nice comp, or to throw and make the most random comp ever. From now on, I'll be a Hanzo main, that quickplay match yesterday settled it.

Ha yeah, think I'll go attack Widow!

Regarding the Roadhog changes, I thought he was mostly fine as he was before. The only nerf I would have liked to see is a small reduction in the hook's range.

No one asked you to switch off to Zarya or Rein because DVa was garbo now? Lucky.

Nope, honestly never got that. Perhaps they all take a look at my career profile and quickly realized that I'm a great D.Va player.

To be honest, I kind of wish they had never changed D.Va from how she was at launch. She actually took a lot of skill to use effectively back then.

I bet he plays with team chat off :p

Nah, I always at least listen in. The only times I turn team chat off is when everyone else is just some kid engaging in puerile banter that has absolutely nothing to do with the match.

Oh my god, I want what he's wearing. Who must I kill in order to get one?!

When I deal with D.Va (as Zarya), I blow up her mech before using my ultimate.

It's common sense, really. Especially with how fragile it is.

A good D.Va would never stay within Zarya's range, unless the Zarya is almost dead or the D.Va has backup.

Eh, I don't know. There was certainly a little extra satisfaction to being good with a character few other people could use. I think it's because since she was off meta, people didn't use her. Since people didn't use her, few people were actually good with her. And since few people were actually good with her, good players actually had an easier time since a lot of people simply didn't know how to counter a player who could actually cover her weaknesses.

That said, only being able to use DM once per month meant that it very rarely had much in the way of value in most fights. Even used optimally, you could stop one ult, sure, but could do nothing about a follow up.

And her ultimate was arguably the worst in the entire game and needed it's buff. 1 second may not seem like a big difference, but it's absolute lifetime in a battle. It's only use was against new people or players with an extreme lack of awareness. And being killed by your own ult is not only embarassing, but it severely limited your options in actually using it, since if you died to it, you left your team 5v6. It was high risk with neglible reward in most cases.

Giving her 500 armor + 100 health was just silly though. And I actually wish they'd go back to 400 amor/100 health. I find it weird that a giant robot is only 1/3 armor for one, and she feels like she could be just a smidgen easier to kill. There are a lot more good D.Va players now, 600 health feels like training wheels that we can take off.

I've lost my sanity quite a few times due to Mercy mains.

Very few tears would be shed if she got deleted from the roster, and all these incompetent players could pick up something else... Or leave competitive forever.

luckily i'm competent enough to know how to play zarya. just waving that dick around into peoples face <3

400 armor/ 100 health would actually be perfect, for me at least.

Back around launch, DM could still cancel multiple ults in a row due to teams often coordinating their ults together. Because of the cooldown, it also required better timing to use well and discouraged indiscriminate use.

As for how D.Va's ult was at launch, it too required more skill to use than it does now. Back then, it was even more necessary to learn when/how to launch it to maximize its use and not accidentally suicide. The longer detonation timer wasn't much of an issue when combined with the team's other ults. The longer timer was also actually advantageous in some situations, since it cleared out the enemies in an area for a little longer, and thus giving the rest of the team a bit more time to advance.

I also felt that D.Va's increase in armor/health was unnecessary back when it happened. The lower survivability meant that a D.Va player had to be more careful about when/where/how to attack and for how long.

It's clear that they made these changes in order to make her easier to learn and increase the amount of use she was getting. Speaking as objectively as I can, D.Va seems rather OP as she is now when combined with my playstyle, but I'm not complaining!

But the true reason behind my thoughts on this is that I don't want unworthy players to touch my waifu with their filthy, Doritos-encrusted hands.

It's custom made, so... Jeff. The final boss.

Oh I see...Then I now know what I must do...

One unexpected benefit of playing Orisa for the ult charge bug is you get some very good SR bonuses pretty easily, for easily outperforming what they expect from orisa.

I like playing Orisa in comp at my low diamond level even before the bug, I need to put in some time this weekend and see if this helps :)

It's getting annoying how Overwatch breaks some character and it doesn't get fixed for a week or two. We just had teleporter bug, Reins hammer swing, and that trash bastion buff.

Probably. At mid gold I usually get around 20-25% extra charge from it, but have gotten as high as 45%.

Biggest problem is KotH maps, because there's rarely enough time to get a second ult in per round. Still been playing orisa on those maps though becuase I do like playing as her. Just hate how often she doesn't work against enemy team comps, particularly Pharah.

Yea its rough trying to kill a pharah thats flying far away, sometimes you can grav her into your shots if she's lower but its tough.

Nothing is more satisfying then getting a multi kill pull off a ledge though, or seeing the bongos live for the entire teamfight while your team decimates them

Sometimes I feel like getting on my mic to call people stupid or useless and just tell them they doing nothing and need to switch in a very aggressive manner. The amount of Absolute idiots playing this game has risen the lately. I'm almost broken :(

The lack of common sense in most comp games is crazy. I don't think solo queing is viable for the most part this season and we aren't even a month into it.

You can do just fine in solo queue over the long term if you do two things

1)Get on the mic yourself and say hi, get everyone into the game and in chat together as best you can

2) stay positive
