Which developer other than From Soft could make a Bloodborne 2 worthy of its legacy?

Hypothetically speaking if Bloodborne 2 is to be made by a studio other than FS then who should do it?Sony Japan?Platinum Games?None?

Personaly i think that if it isn't made by From Software then no one else should do it.Not only because it's a very complex game that relied a lot to one man's vision (and his team) but also because i fear that even if the game ends up being good a lot of people will look down upon it just because it's not made by From Software and Miyazaki.

Unless Miyazaki himself will be closely involved (something like the Platinum-Yoko Taro collaboration) then any other scenario i'm afraid is going to end up pretty badly.

With the industry's focus on open world, I can't think of too many developers I'd trust to pull off BB-tier level design nowadays.

A collaboration between Japan Studio, Team Ninja (combat mechanics), Fumito Ueda/genDESIGN (level design), and Junji Ito (art director).

Well, I'd say Team Ninja. They'll need the help of someone with whimsies similar to Miyazaki for the level design and writing. Just evolve the game-play from Nioh.

Maybe Retro Studios? I mean outside the fact that Bloodborne is a Sony IP. But quality wise, Retro could probably equal it if they were put to the task in theory. Their level design prowess is astoundingly vast.

What? What a strange hypothetical.

Is Ueda supposed to be a good level designer?

Are you kidding me? Hell yeah, he is. The Last Guardian's world would make for a top-tier Souls area if tweaked. In fact, Hidetaka Miyazaki is heavily indebted to Ueda's games.

He is an amazing level designer. Miyazaki himself got inspired by his games.

Inspired by his levels?

Maybe it's because I dislike Ico and never played TLG (but love SotC) but the levels don't seem that amazing.

At the very least, not like the Souls games or Bloodborne.

Actually going by release dates, you're saying that Miyazaki's level design - whatever role he has in them - is indebted to Ico? I don't think there is anything level design wise in SotC that is amazing and TLG is a later release.

Don't really understand the Team Ninja mentions. Nioh is a very mediocre Souls-like other than the combat system.

The level design is bland, enemy variety is trash, loot system is a mess, weapon balance is a joke, and bosses are far too easy and uninteresting. The story is cheesy and the lore is stupid.

You basically fought 90% of all the enemies in the game in the second mission, most enemies after are either repeat or reskin.
Not to mention most enemies only have about 3 different attacks too and they are super easy to read.

Overall, Nioh is too long, too repetitive, too shallow and too easy. It's a joke compare to Bloodborne in pretty much every way possible, what good is a ''better'' combat system if the enemies are a chore to fight? The whole game gets too repetitive too soon, hell, even the boss music is repetitive, they reuse 3 or 4 tracks on like 20 bosses over and over again.

I enjoyed Nioh for the first 3 missions but it quicky becomes very mediocre and uninteresting.

If you love Japanese setting like me, then I suggest you play Onimusha instead, it's a better game.

Falcom could do it, I believe in 'em more than almost any other studio. They know how to write story, how to handle lore, how to do amazing boss fights, they do awesome action gameplay, and know how to make interesting monster designs. Plus they have an incredible sound team.

To be fair I don't even want a sequel if Miyazaki isn't involvedn heavily. We've seen what that's like for souls games

Is Ueda supposed to be a good level designer?

While Ico's core mechanics are kinda boring, the level and aesthetic design of the game is pretty excellent and it's not that hard to see why people would be inspired by such a focused release that presented a notable amount of atmospheric detail for its time.

Kirby team, as long as Kirby has a cameo. Kirby always puts a shift in and has never had a bad game.

I'd actually fancy Prime era Retro at having a shot.

Thread title: "other than From"

OP Answer: Must be made by From

Trick question?

Personally i only want FromSoft to do it but i have seen a lot of people saying that if FS is not going to make BB2 then Sony Japan will/should do it.

Actually what i really want personally is FromSoft to completely focus on new IPs and Armored Core.I loved BB but i don't think it needs a sequel.

Games like Bloodborne have become more about the names attached to them rather than the game itself. So even if someone else came to make a sequel that's superior to Bloodborne 1 it wouldn't be acknowledged because it didn't have "Miyazak's/From's golden touch"

NONE.

Not even FromSoftware themselves without Hidetaka Miyazaki.
This is the correct answer. Plenty of people will disagree, but for me, Dark Souls 2 demonstrated this aptly. Even From Software can't do it properly without Miyazaki. It might have some of the form and function, but it will be missing the Soul.
