Giant spider traps terrified family inside their home

It's only a Huntsman Spider (only one I can think of that big). Relatively harmless, except to the cat. It looks rather cute.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
One of the cats I had would have eaten that within 10 seconds of it coming inside.

You can't even sit on a lawn chair over there, you gotta flip over every piece of furniture and make sure none of those fucks are there chillin.

Anyone want to still argue that australians aren't the most badass people on earth? No one? Okay.

Like wtf how can you live in peace knowing that there are giant spiders roaming around your garden

AND THEY EVEN TRIED TO HAVE A FUCKING BARBECUE LIKE IT'S NO BIG DEAL

Because these spiders are relatively harmless the same way a black bear is in American backyards.

How is a giant spider entering a home in Australia newsworthy? Aren't they used to those?
Just try to catch it with a bucket or something.

Someone help me out. I seem to remember many many years ago watching a special (on PBS, probably) about what would happen to the Earth when humanity left for interstellar travel.

As I recall, they hypothesized that spiders would become the dominant land animals, growing in size and intelligence and covering the planet's land masses in giant web colonies.

If we're thinking of the same show, it's called The Future is Wild.

Thankfully Huntsman spiders are harmless. They look intimidating as fuck though when you come across one. I got in my car to drive home from work one day and there was one hiding in between the furthest left side of my car door and where it comes together with the car, near the hinge. Scuttled INTO a hole in the car door. Suffice to say I was nervous the entire trip home. Get home, get out of car and the fucker was on the roof. How he got there still stumps me to this day.
