The last time I gave someone the benefit of the doubt about whether or not a Republican family were good people, I went to their house and they had on the news, and there was a news story about a black or Latino kid who was arrested and the kid's mother was saying that he was a good kid, and both Republican parents said "Oh, they always say they're a good kid". And I was like "uh huh, that's what I thought I would find here" and I left.

Not legitimately saying hes depressed since Im not a psych, but I dunno about all that, Fawf. Its an incredibly bleak view on everyday life. Its the sort of mindset that breeds complacency with whatevers going on. If youre feeling like existence is null, and you arent achieving what you want to, you need to step way back and recalibrate. Take a break.
E: Im aware this is overly simplified and for a variety of factors the hopes and dreams thing may be inevitable, but jfc.
It's never a good idea to generalize everyone, but you have to take a step back and look at everything as a whole when it comes to the words people use when they are heated. It's like when people say "fuck the police" in response to the police shootings. We KNOW they aren't talking about every single police officer and are more upset at the institution as a whole. In that same regard, people are rightfully pissed at Trump, the Republican Party, and Trump supporters right now, especially if you're not White and/or a woman.
That said, unlike the police who are just doing their jobs, no informed and/or "decent" human being in the US that doesn't work for the government should be voting for or supporting the Republican Party right now. I don't care if they are voting for the Republicans to get their jobs back or to protect Christianity, etc... because at a minimum they're being foolish for thinking they're going to get those things and irresponsible with their "fuck everyone else I'm going to get mine" support.

Honestly my view is this, if you can overlook all the absolutely terrible shit the republican party does time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time again and basically reward them by voting in like minded politicians because "muh taxes" or "fiscal conservative", I'm not fucking with you in any capacity. Doubly so if you ever spout the "fiscal conservative/socially liberal" line, because that alone tells me you don't know shit about American politics outside of the third grade level ability to match two words together, in this case "conservative".

BTW, fuck every Republican. They are a direct threat to my life. As a black man. As someone close to a pre-existing condition. As a father of three black kids. As a husband to a black woman. As a future grandfather. As someone who wants to visit Miami in 50 years without a boat.
This is more than just political opinions. They are a direct threat to my life and a lot of people i know. They do not care about me. They actually hate me. They have no intention of serving me or anyone similar to me.
