I think friends don't just immediately disown friends for shitty behavior. They don't excuse or defend it, of course, but ~real friends~ confront the shitty friend and get them to be decent people.
Of course, if the shitty friend is unrepentant and continues to be shitty, sure, disown disown disown.
But also yes it's going to be way more complicated if Nick's friends were aware of the behavior. I really don't envy Ben's position right now with the scrutiny that Nick and everyone else he's associated with will be getting from this point onward.

The last best thing Harmonix ever did. I still have my 360 hooked up back in my hometown because of this game. it's one of those rhythm games that makes me want to play it just because of the sound. The focus on heightening the sound of whatever road of notes you're playing on is GENIUS.

He finished Witcher 3 and did most of the sidequests even with a kid. Just depends on his priorities. He spends most time playing PUBG these days.

I can see why the Nick stuff is subtweeted.
I imagine alot of the people Nick harassed all have mutual friends with each other(ie aurahack is pretty vocal about it, in the context that she is voicing out for her friends) so they dont want to put him on blast because of who he knows. But it seems yesterday with nicks undeserved outlash at the overcooked devs, where he practically subtweets shit at them then tells another person to STFU, finally made people realize that Nick is being a piece of shit and so they call him out, even if its undirectly.
Its definitely a thing of him getting to big for his britches. In a bad way

Kessler tweeted yesterday that hes fucking furious. Like ben, theyre all friends from the whiskey media days and even have a podcast together.
Now, we dont know if kessler is furious about the people subtweeting, or furious at nick for finding out about him. It could be unrelated but the signs point at nick.
Ben is now in a position of power where he can speak out about this, since it indirectly affects him and friends of the site, so to speak. If Nicks harassment of game devs and other people is common knowledge, then ben speaking out would mean hes not complicit to it, seeing as how they are close friends(according to last weeks bombcast, they both took a trip to the county fair together for example.)
Basically its a ticking time bomb thats affected alot of people. And bombs dont differentiate friends.

Basically tweeting about someone without letting them know it's about them.
It's when you tweet about someone/something without mentioning their username or the hashtag or whatever so only your followers see it and not the user you're talking about or the people following the hashtag.

Ben has only been "part" of the gaming industry for a couple months. I imagine his connections with various outlets is minimal compared to other duders. Even Matt Kessler might have a small circle that only expands Sony/GB/Polygon(?). So they both might not necessarily have known about this

And the way the Overcooked thing seemed to be the breaking point (while being unrelated) reminds me of the Colin Moriarty fiasco.

Even with connections it's understandable that this is something Nick wouldn't want his friends to know about whilst those on the receiving end would only talk to their friends about it.
Really hope we hear more from guys like Matt, Ben and Griffin soon even it they want to talk to the people involved first.

In all fairness this is more important that people talking about which GB staff member they dislike. There's an argument for if this is the place to talk about it or not but if it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't even be aware of it. Fuck, I even read a tweet late list night and was unaware of what it was referencing. It's relevant because I used to watch content with Nick in, knowing this I don't want to support it any more.
