If you were in USA I would offer the second one I have. But really, that set is up there with my all time faves.
Filthy enabler. :p It's one that pops up in regular stores here, so I expect to find it cheaper one day. For now I am saving for BB8, OFS and Ninjago City (which I won't get day 1, but when doible VIP hits )

Might get some smaller Ninjago Movie sets too. Not vehicles or mechs (not my jam), but the dragon and some diorama's are looking really nice

*EDIT* sold out a few hours after this post... check back later :p

While everyone is talking about how cool the Water Strider is, I wanted to point out amazon has it for 17% off right now.

You can always try to price match it at Target and get an extra 5% off with RED card, too

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071VNCXQV/?tag=neogaf0e-20

494 pieces, good build, four minifigs... you can't go wrong

Telling myself I'm gonna sit tight on the new stuff that goes to widespread retail. But good Ninjago deals so far.

It definitely pays to wait for the inevitable 20 to 30% off most sets eventually get, when you can have the willpower to wait. That's the problem though... ;)

Don't you just love when brand new sets go on sale?

LEGO Ninjago Temple Ultimate Ultimate Weapon 70617 Building Kit (1403 Piece)

Already 20% off ($80 instead of $99)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071NWTFR7/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Now if only the Destiny's Bounty would go 20% off...

I was going to get Ninjago City 15th August but now I wonder if it is better to wait since it could go into heavy discounts pretty soon if it follows this pattern.

I only TRY to stay away from Amazon for LEGO because of getting VIP points on purchases, but if Ninjago City is a decent amount cheaper on Amazon (in theory), I might skip the points for 20% off.

Counterpoint: Ninjago City is exclusive to the Lego Store, yes? NO DISCOUNTS FOR YOU!

Nah, even exclusives find their way to Amazon itself, not third parties. Silent Mary was exclusive too, and 25% off on Amazon a month after release, kind if regret getting it at launch.

Look at Amazon, exclusives are there.

D2C sets actually end up coming to online shops after a couple months. It will be on Amazon eventually so it's worth keeping an eye on but also they rarely see the deep discounts the smaller sets do so ehh. Getting the D2C during double VIP is still usually the best option.

Damnabbit! Jangs Destinys Bounty video was super glowing, he loves that set. Between that and Phons review and praise I'm having a hard time waiting on it.

Oh that's funny. I never noticed the "Exclusive" tag on the Lego Store site actually meant nothing. Almost all of their "Exclusives" are sold at multiple stores now that I'm looking at the list. I always thought "Hard to Find" was the tag they used for stuff that other retailers carried online (like Silent Mary). They have some botched messaging there.

I am a rube for reading their emails and believing exclusive meant exclusive.

Yes, modulars rarely get any discoint on Amazon, but big D2C sets that are tied to an ip or event (like a movie) gets into sales. Batman big sets, PotC Silent Mary.

I bet that by the time the movie is out Amazon will have Ninjago City, and chances of a sale are high.

Even the Lego online store is having a double vip points promotion (10% off) on some Ninjago Movies sets rugby now, so it could apply to NC as well.

The hard part is to wait.

Never had any desire to buy a Ninjago set but damn does Destiny’s Bounty look amazing. Gotta stay strong for the Falcon next month.

I want to get Destiny's Bounty, but only a few stores carry it yet, and the RRP is silly as usual. One online store has it about 17% off which is more acceptable, but I think I can wait.

I agree it's a great price. But it'll be even better when the inevitable 20% off comes... I'm a cheap-o, need to save for Star Wars ;)

That UCS Falcon isn't going 20% off! Well, if it does, it'll be a miracle. I wouldn't be surprised if people were able to get the first UCS Falcon discounted, but I think the growth LEGO has seen in its audience along with the demand might put a dent in those chances this round.

Guys a bit of help if you can. I tried restoring some of my discolored bricks (light bluish gray) to their former glory using hydrogen peroxide and while other times I used the method it was very succesful, this time it seems it was a failure.

What happened is that the bricks became even lighter shade of light bluish from what they should be. I dont know how to properly explain it , but placing them together with proper light bluish bricks they seem kinda pale...

Is there a way to revert them back to their "darker" proper light bluish color state?

Maybe place them in sunlight without peroxide? I dont know...

Could really use the help because the pieces are rather rare and I want to use them in a moc.

Thanks.

So I went to a different Walmart with a friend, and got the Killer Croc Tailgator set for $30, so that was nice. Was planning on Bricklinking Croc himself, but for that price, made sense to just grab the whole thing, even if the truck doesn't blow me away.

So, now I have both that and Clayface sitting in a pile, and my random question is... which is the better build? Clayface looks cooler to me, but the Killer Croc set was easily the more expensive set... Trying to decide which order to build them in.

I was going to build Killer Croc first. But I haven't built either yet :)

Clayface was a solid build. Took me 45 mins. He also has an interchangeable hand/hammer but my son decided to stack them instead (see right hand).

For a set like that, I wouldn't even bother with the truck. There's plenty of sets I haven't built, just stripped them of minifigs and then sorted parts straight into the collection.

That depends on you really need an oversized monster truck in your displays, I guess.

Don't know if many people here are into the LEGO video games, but on Bundlestars.com for the next day or so you can get 3 LEGO games for $10 for Steam.

Even the Force Awakens game was included and I don't think that one has had a steep discount yet. I got that one, Marvel Avengers, and Batman 3. I also bought the season passes for them since they were on sale too for like $3 each.

Doesn't everybody?

I actually liked the Tail Gator truck. They put a lot of effort into the Batman Movie vehicle builds. It reminded me of that one truck /Loki set from the first avengers movie. Bigger of course but I liked how realistic and detailed it was.

I love the killer croc fig and the truck. It's the sea-cow of lifted pickup trucks!

How long does the Lego Idea's sets stay in production? I have made a mental plan on how to acquire the existing (not retired) modulars, but the Old Fishingstore is not a part of that plan. I would love to get it but if it is in production for like 6 months or so I don't know if I will be able to.

Depends. But the days they got only a few months of shelf life are gone. Don't think this will be an immediate sellout like Saturn V too (which will have more production runs), so you'll probably be able to buy one easily in six months.

Alright, that is good to know!

FINALLY got around to finishing the Saturn V set today. I've had it since before it officially released (thanks Barnes & Noble) but only finished the first stage until now.
It may not have the highest piece count of any set I've gotten (Modulars are higher I think), but it's definitely one of the biggest sets I've ever done.

Such a great build for all the internals for something that looks so sleek on the outside. I think my favorite part was attaching the outside panels by using the internal connections they had you build in earlier steps.

I hope we eventually get another Space Shuttle set that's just as great as this was.

It's been a while, but some progress has been made on the Batcave

3grVM0N.jpg

That's the full height now, with an armoury to go on the left in that opening and rock walls on either side. If anything I may need to make it shorter if I don't have enough parts to do the rock walls (or I may do some arches/supports for wayne manor above to fill some space)
