Never really liked EG, so I'm glad to have saw empire beat them out.
Not sure who exactly I am rooting for this tournament, dont follow dota much but I usually go for the underdog. Or whichever personalities / player stories make me care the most.
Hoping I can make it back in my benz AMG-GT tomorrow after work in time to catch the games though, gonna be nice to watch on my new sammy 88" 4K HDR QLed tv!

It's a Airbnb in Cap Hill, $170 for 3 nights. It's a bed and a shower stall, not much more, but it's all I need.

edit; It's $59 a night, plus taxes/fees. probably gonna suck, but it's a standalone room so I don't have to deal with others in it with me.
I think there is definitely something to look into there. The extra restrictions on drafting seems to actually help some teams a lot.
I'm staying at the City Hostel Seattle since I'm cheap, $300 for a week, half a mile from key arena.

Yeah, I think what he's remembering is ( if memory serves correctly) they lost that last game at TI4 because they drafted Void and Timbersaw, and gave Timbersaw to Universe and Void to Mason. Keep in mind this was after a Game 2 in which Universe landed godlike Chrono after Chrono. Mason, suffice it to say, did not land godlike Chronos.
I remember those chronos. Still the best void plays I've seen I think.

Usually the agreement is to do a 6 way split, but its really up to the players and organization.

They were letting the pressure getting the best of them and lacking the hunger.
And EG, despite an all-star squads, no longer stand heads and above the rest. Better yes, but not by a noticeable difference.
The same can be said for all other tier-1 teams. There are more tier-1 teams this TI and tier-2 teams are closer to them than before.

i feel like the current incarnation of EG made kind of poor use of rtz...he's literally only there to be an efficient safelane farmer, otherwise they just don't care about him. he used to be one of the flashiest players in dota, now he's just sort of...there...farming...
i'm not sure it's a specific thing (e.g. cr1t), just generally bad form from them at TI. although certainly their drafts have also been poor in a couple of games. didn't see yesterday's matches but against newbee they were heavily outdrafted in G1 at least.
[edit] there was even an uncharacteristic major misplay from universe in G2 vs. newbee that completely let newbee back into the game, so blaming specific players or drafts seems a bit silly

i think newbee broke EG. EG drafted well (especially game 2) but got outplayed super hard, they lost confidence in their picks after that.

Sumail and rtz had both zero impact in the whole series, rtz TP on shrine in game 1 was nothing short of laughable
I saw nothing from Sumail all TI to be honest, he's absolutely wasted on heroes like Necro.

Sumail was so underwhelming this whole tournament, shartour seemed lost too... then again he has been lost for the past 3 months or so.. he just rices and turns up to fights to do nothing.
They kind of gave up g2 i think, universe was farming too timidly, could have split pushed more.. also cant remember if he ever sprouted reso whilst he was bkb.. saves shartour a few times but thats it... zero impact cores sums up their TI.

He was flashy in mid - movement away from initiating mids to proper proper core.
Ever since he's gone to 1 he's never replicated that level of imposition on the game.
He's also a little overrated

In seriousness, I wouldn't necessarily expect pros from one game to know about pros from another game regardless of how well known they are within their own game.
