Overwatch |OT10| That'll do pig, that'll do

junkrat poops on doomfist, word to the wise if you're having trouble against him.

Yep. It's immensely satisfying to bait a Doomfist player to charge into me, only to have my trap laid in front of him and I can blow them to Kingdom Come.

It never gets old.

Huh.. this surprises me. I've always seen Junkrat as a free kill when I'm fisting. My toughest fights are usually Reaper and Sombra.

Hmmm, I dunno. It's generally pretty easy to pull Rein up and backwards into the air so he can't Earthshatter, and then reset your shield further back so he has to walk even further to cross through it. Same goes for yolo charges past the chokepoint into Earthshatter, though the shield placement on those is a little trickier.

The main thing that keeps Orisa from being meta (on a non-pro level) is just that no one has invested any time in learning how to synergize well with her. People don't use her shields at all and almost always ignore Halt even though it's basically free headshots.

Plus, if it's obvious what he's going to do, just walk up to him point blank and pop your defense to fuck up the line of sight for the earthshatter.

Basically, a smart Junk will drop a trap in your path especially when you're charging and you're a free kill with a few bombs to the face. I found this tactic to be really good against DFs.

Morning queue has been pretty good to me. Two losses and leaver on the third match. Lol

Hopefully you can join our 6 stacks soon. Solo q is holding you back from Masters.

Junkrat does not counter Doomfist at all. What that character is doing at high level now is something you are going to need a lot of direct damage to stop.

orisa+bastion combo completely destroys me. any tips?

Who are you playing as?

I'd say Tracer is a good character that's anti-that combo. Or Reaper. Pretty much any flanker.

Junkrat will definitely be a counter to Doomfist at lower levels though. Bad Junkrat > Bad Doomfist I'd say.

He's not a hard counter but a trap can stop his momentum which is always helpful. Wish I had a chance to try it against the really good DF from last night.

Maybe? Only like 10 people in the world actually know what they are doing with the dude. He's a harder character in the Genji archetype, and even like plat Genji players are miles ahead of where things were a year ago.

Idk I don't think anybody is really qualified to talk about what Doomfist is doing outside of the pros who are developing him seriously right now. I know a bit from watching the Koreans, and I'm actually kind of at a loss as to what to do about him. He's basically an entirely different character than what even T500 streamers have come up with.

I think Korean pros do things 99% of the player base doesn't do. Not exactly the most accurate representation of what we see in our matches on a daily basis.

Lunatic Hai lost to an unknown team what the hell?

MVP Space has been in APEX for multiple seasons, they're not unknown. They are normally a B team however. Starting LTJ and then running face first into a Doomfist they were unprepared for did them in.

I remember people saying this to me a year ago when I was like "wait until a Zarya shielded Winston jumps at you." Everybody dismissed me with "yeah right nobody outside of pros will ever have the coordination to do that." Low and behold, that type of thing is pretty common. When Korea helped to reinvent Genji people thought nobody would come close to that, now random soloq Genjis in like Diamond know how do drop in assassinations.

It tends to catch up. It's why everybody and their mom is picking Winston now. That was another thing where I said he was strong and would be an unstoppable lord god, and people in here said nobody would be on teams good enough for it to work. Give it a couple months and I'm sure Doomfist players will have learned how to lurk.

Unknown by most, known by some Apex watchers. I should have said the 4th team in the group and realistically the easiest win they would have a chance to get.

I get why they wanted to get some experience playing with LTJ but why would they not sub him out when they started losing? Gido and Whoru are just sitting on the bench man.

You're not wrong. What the pros do will def trickle down and the main player base adopts it cuz it works. Altho the execution will never reach the level of what the pros do. I'm still thankful the DFs we've faced so far are still so-so in our matches. Those OHKOs are pretty infuriating especially when I'm playing as Zen.

It's not uncommon for other Korean teams across various games to leave subs in to their own detriment if they believe their season isn't at risk and that even a loss will be valuable. I'm not so sure that's okay with how dire one loss in APEX groups can be, but I have no doubt they think they are still okay for play offs.

Wait until they learn how to lurk. In APEX today he basically got free kill after kill by lurking specific parts of the map, and I'm not sure how you can stop that. It really feels like when the AWP had more mobility in CSGO and lurkers could just take round after round on solo kills.

Anne, you gonna be back for Season 6? I kinda liked watching your streams.

If they fix it, yeah. I said I don't dislike the core game all that much, but I very much dislike the queue system and all the toxicity. They didn't fix it in S5, so I just quit. If nothing changes going into S6, then I'll probably stay quit. It's not worth my time to mostly soloq with a bunch of toxicity and low quality games that I just find frustrating., even if I do like Overwatch.

HAHA, AWP is a good comparison. It's the same feeling I got back in the day.

Yea, I'm curious if the improved penalty and reporting system will be better.

I think it entirely depends on whether he becomes full primary meta or not. Yeah the pro teams are gonna develop awesome strategies with him, but as you can see in this thread people are still asking for advice on how to deal with an Orisa-Bastion combination which has little to no value in the pro scene, but still gives non-pros trouble in everyday matches. So the pro strategy trickle down will only come into effect if he gets serious usage and shakes up the current meta.

Like everyone can agree that across all levels a Soldier counters Pharah. But if I'm playing against a lower level Tracer I may switch to Junkrat as a counter because lower level players have very little trap awareness. But I wouldn't play Junkrat against a GM Tracer because I'd get wrecked because they have way more awareness. I think the same philosophy will end up working well against lower level Doomfists - they won't watch the ground where their charging, but obviously higher level Doomfists will eat Junk for breakfast through surprise attacks or out of just sheer mobility.

Of course I usually have no idea what I'm talking about so maybe all this can be thrown in the trash. I dunno.

i once thought Junk could stop Doomfist's foolishness until i got one hit punch when he got caught in my trap. Mistakes were made that day

For people who don't know what "lurking" is, it's basically a more strategic version of what some might call "camping" from CS. In CS, you have to attack one of two sites, so you commit most of your team to moving into a site/position and then you leave a lurker in an odd spot that the enemy team is likely to rotate through to answer your push. In OW, it works differently since there is only one objective, but you can get the idea with how the map paths and mobility works. It's not exactly flanking and being aggressive, it's more like defensively hanging out in spots where you might pick up picks on people like Tracer or Lucio or whatever.

Roadhog used to be pretty good at this early on when guys like Hymzi and Harbleu were the only ones playing him, before Ana turned him into a frontline DPS. Nowadays characters like Genji mostly do this by hanging out over entry ways and swift striking back into safety during assassination attempts.

Turns out Doomfist is really good at doing that and he also has tank displacement + the ability to snowball harder than Genji.

If you're close enough to the trap, his massive hitbox will still hit you.

Yep i learned how big the hitbox was on that day. Also last night on that Oasis map with large hole on the point. I was hugging the left room wall but i got hit by his punch i guess can my arm was out or something. Didnt die but it was weird that hit me.

Doomfist's punch hitbox really needs to be fixed, it's ridiculous in its current state.

Anyone tried Roadhog's new healing on ptr? It doesn't make him feel like the old hog but for deathmatch it's pretty fun

I've seen plenty of Soldiers and Genjis do this. Especially Genji. Fucking shurikens.

To add to what I'm saying, here's the question that needs to be answered to stop Doomfist from being really powerful. How do you actually stop a Doomfist player that just flirts around LoS points from entering a fight safely?

I thought hitscan + discord would be good enough but he just is too fast. If he enters a fight and lands any ability he might have just one shot somebody and gained 100+ shields instantly. Add to this that he has D.Va and Winston creating zones for him to fly into while also being able to partially ignore/displace the enemy D.Va/Winston. I don't actually know what to do about it.

Tracking a tracer and punching her mid dash with Doomfist is top 5 most satisfying type of kill in this game.

Holding your ground with mercys or dvas pistol is another.

Headshots with mei or Mccrees gun.

The first time I got a reflect kill with genji.

All so goooooood.

Honestly I killed way too many DF with my Zen. Heck even as D.VA. I don't find him that intimidating like a good Tracer.

Lol @ everyone getting excited about reporting coming to console. They literally don't do anything. The same people you reported for throwing one game in season 3 are around in season 5 throwing every game because Blizzard don't do anything. It's just there to make you feel better.

The fact it will finally be in the game might deter some people from throwing for starters.

Having a hero who one-shots off walls is super broken. It effectively locks off so much of the map, you can't go into enclosed corridors or rooms, and you travel so far when you're punched that being out in the open might not even be enough to save you. Not to mention his "combos" stunlock you and throw off your aim, uppercut plus two shots will probably kill a 200 HP hero.

You can't predict DF's movements with certainty, he can engage at all sorts of angles. He can yolo punch into your team and kill a support, even if he trades kills doing that, you lost a healer and will probably lose the fight unless you have ult advantage.

lol. nah. they'll continue to throw.

You can never stop trolls being trolls but at least if they get enough reports, the banning will hurt them. I don't even care if they make new accounts. That means they need to level up all over again just to play Comp. At least trolling will take more effort.

That's all I need it for. It gives me closure knowing that I've done something within my power to hopefully prevent this from happening again.

Even if Blizzard doesn't do anything, then it's on them. Right now, if someone is a complete jackass I am powerless to do anything and I feel incredibly frustrated by not having any channel to correct the situation.

Really hate when I forget that you can't leave at the final score, and have to wait for "DEFEAT". Cost myself 25 SR for no raisin.

Honestly if the pros don't figure out how to counter doomfist soon this meta could be the worst one to watch for me.

It's like dive except you feel the dive is extra bullshit from the OHKO.

Zarya is probably better than D.Va if you're adamant about not mirroring DF.

Now that duplicates and by extension money is way rarer to get, I think I'm gonna save it for another event. None of these skins are really doing it for me.

That clutch rez at the end for Meta Bellum was awesome. They stuck with the Mercy/Zen all the way through King's Row and it paid off.

I really want Sombra and Widow's summers skins! I only keep getting last year's or McCree, Soldier, Junkrat's which I never use! I don't use Widow either but it's hot so.

Had an idiot on my team in 3v3 who stayed is spawn killing himself when we wouldn't pocket for his Pharah. Somehow we won 2 rounds 2v3 from 0-2 so he decided to actually help us win the game in the end. Still, fuck that guy. The leave game button is right there, it doesn't hurt you in any way and we get a replacement in 2 seconds. Win-win. But no, you have to stay just to be an asshole and waste everyone's time.

I felt Sombra was the winner for having the best Legendary for this event. Love her hairstyle, voice lines, & how cute her outfit is (in general).

The only one that was pretty 'meh' was Mercy's. I know it makes sense (thematically), but I would've love her to have that Badminton outfit. Junkrat's cricket skin is pretty hilarious, but I haven't figured out how to trigger his new voice lines.

Yup, I love it. Not a fan of the flippers but I also love her hair. They really should do more with the hairstyles for the characters. I wouldn't mind Tracer with shoulder length hair.
