I'm guessing you don't have the Google alerts set up. You need to do that for extremely popular items as their normal alert system gets overwhelmed.

I got my NowInStock Google alert within 1 minute of Wario's Tweet, but my standard alert arrived a couple minutes after it went down and those alerts are still going out.

Re: People having Geek Squad added to the order: You can return it within 14 days of picking up the item. So as long as you have the money to cover it, don't worry about it for now, and just return it after you get the system.

If my status says preordered in green on my order page that means I'm good, right? I had money left in my PayPal account from the Walmart preorder. I've gotten the PayPal email, but no best buy email.

I'm so mad. I got in for Walmart and of course that fell through. I hope I'm able to get my hands on a preorder somewhere. At least now that this happened I'll keep an eye out for other websites. Is the Nowinstock alert thing actually helpful? I follow Wario64 on Twitter but I don't know how to set up tweet alerts for JUST him.

Got mine in for store pickup along with my confirmation email. Luckily I couldn't fall asleep tonight and got Wario64's alert as soon as he posted.

BestBuy.com operates on central time, so pre-orders going up (along with other site updates, etc.) at or shortly after midnight their time makes sense.

Amazon runs on Pacific time zone, so maybe they will go up soon. Any chance they won't make it a Prime exclusive? Amazon ships internationally, so if I don't get a preorder with them, I'll have to wait until my next family visit to the states in January to pick up my Best Buy order.

Just brute forced an order. Refreshed the page a couple times and it changed from coming soon to pre-order. Shopping cart page wouldn't load at first and once it did it told me the item was out of stock and kicked me to the homepage with an empty cart. Searched the item, clicked on it. Loading... and it automatically popped back in my cart once the page loaded. Signed in again and was greeted with another out of stock message. Refresh. Back in stock but shipping options have changed. Choose ship to home...out of stock. Did this a few times alternating between out of stock messages and changing shipping options.

Long story short: after refreshing and clicking like mad I finally got to the payment page and bam. Order went through. I think. No confirmation email yet but it does show up in my orders. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm so glad I just happened to get on twitter a few minutes after Wario posted the link.

Are you saying you're going to let your Best Buy order sit there until January? Those will cancel out after like two weeks of it being ready, and it'll go back to the floor for sale.

Still no BB confirmation email. I think i'm fucked

Pissed it only finally worked doing store pick up, I'd be more confident with shipping. Best Buy has fucked me over many times before

I received my payment charged email from AMEX almost instantly. The Best Buy confirmation email, on the other hand, took about 30 minutes.

Exact same experience as me so I'm not going to type it out twice haha. Waiting and praying for that email.

Many reasons, BB wants to avoid there servers crashing, scalpers in East Coast sleeping, want to see who really is awake to order ASAP. Nintendo probably didn't want negative publicity with hoarders so wanted a random time to catch people offguard

As I said above, you need to use their Google alerts for this. Their standard alerts are overwhelmed by hugely popular items like this, but the Google alerts will arrive on time. They have instructions how to do it on the page, and you can get them routed to your texts as well.

No, it'll be delivered to my mother's house. Shipping costs for her to send it to me are about the price of the console itself, so I'd rather just wait and pick it up at her home if I had to. Amazon has reasonable international shipping fees and usually delivers within 2 weeks of shipping.
