I hate the downward slide in competitive because you get shitty DPS that don't want to switch off. -_-

Zarya is the best in that scenario imo

1. She's a tank

2. She covers your bad DPS player

3. She has synergy with almost all DPS with her ult.

4. She is a DPS herself

I've had more luck getting legendaries in the past events, not the ones I actually wanted mind you but still, I at least saw some. :|

This event, I've had a whopping ZERO. So between that and now never getting coins to buy stuff, I've pretty much given up.

This is the first event where I've gotten more non-event legendaries from the loot boxes than actual legendaries. I've gotten McCree, Mercy, and Reaper's new skins, and then regular skins for Pharah, Mercy, and a few others I can't remember right now. And I've barely gotten any gold so I can't buy 76 or Sombra's skin even though I really wanted both.

It seems like every time Blizzard corrects one thing, they mess up something else.

It's not nearly as bad in dive meta, sooner or later dva/winston are going to fly through the gate and create space. Whereas when rein was the lead tank it meant people sitting at the choke doing nothing. If the rein charged he got wrecked and you were back to square one. Now that I think about it I don't think I've been full held on hanamura this season.

Edit: on second thought it's a double edged sword, on one side it's good because less throwers but on the other side it will make people more toxic because nobody wants to lose the shiny bling bling diamond just because of some fucking leavers.

I think that's the same thing that was posted yesterday.

I don't see where it says there's decay for everyone, only that people can lose their ranking (icon) below master.

Unless you mean decay by that, and not having to play x games before losing sr.

Yea, I used Sty's phrase for it. Curious if this will be good or not. At least now we won't see as many Diamond guys throw matches if they wanna keep the icon.

I'm thinking it may alleviate some of the throwers since a lot of them spawned from the "I made it to Diamond but I'm not gonna try for Master so time to fuck around" group. Now they'll actually have to try to keep the icon - although some people may only care about the end of season rewards and still fuck around.

I'm wondering if the new placement and SR changes are going to drop some of the one-trick Mercies back into the range they should be in. I hope so.

Yea, it's gonna take winrate into consideration, I think. Some videos mentioned that Mercy and Sombra were gaining a lot of SR even with like 30% winrate. I hope S6 finally fixes a lot of issues from S5.

Shouldn't they just heavily weigh personal performance so people playing well don't get dumpstered and those who throw drop huge?

We saw that personal performance makes things even dumber, incentivizing one playstyle over others, also when people discover what stats blizz prioritize they start abusing the system.

They should just fix the sr for wins and losses, only adapting in cases where the average sr of both teams is too different.

Seems they are adjusting it based on personal performance and overall wins. I think they are also addressing the OTP issues. No details about how it works from what I read or seen but hopefully Blizz doesn't spill the beans like they did before which caused a whole lot of offmeta hero picks from players who suck at them and just to try to use them to climb no matter how awful they did.

You already lose your icon in top500/gm/master.

Makes no sense seeing a player with a diamond icon playing at a gold level game. Keeping it always seemed like a dumb consolation prize.

That was basically the reason they let people keep it originally. But since people who get their desired icons are starting to throw or troll cuz they don't care, then I guess it finally became an issue for Blizzard.
 
Got on around midnight last night and foolishly decided to play comp.

First game duo of diamond players on the other team are throwing. We win.

Second game a guy on our team is throwing, his name is Widowsthrowing and I've played like 15 games with him this season, we still manage to win the game lol

Third game get matched with the two throwers from my first game on my team. They throw, we lose.

No more comp for me till season 6.

It's freaking crazy isn't it? The only time to play comp is like the first week. I've had a similar experience to you lately.

Same here. I only got one event legendary and that was one I wanted but I played a decent amount as this was my first OW event. Hoping things go a little better for Halloween.

is mei getting an origin skin based off of her cinematic? what about any new skins for junkertown?

I would personally love both her arctic gear & PJ's as Legendary skins, and naturally, a lot of players on the B.Net forms & Overwatch reddit are asking for both. (I'd personally want an emote of her & Snowball performing a high five.)

As for Roadhog, he's getting a new skin, which was confirmed by the PlayOverwatch twitter account. As for JunkerTown skins for the cast, both Ana & D.Va already have their own Legendary cosmetics.

Mercy rework:

I like that idea, get rid of the mass rez altogether imo. Maybe when her abilities are enhanced she can rez 3 people tops but consecutively rather than collectively.

In other news, I got another legendary earlier today so I've completed the summer set of skins. Almost makes up for massive drop in SR recently. This is the first time I won't have buy loot boxes to hunt for missing skins.

EDIT: I wonder if her rez needs to be charged, hold the button down like in Destiny, or if it is done at the press of a button but with possibly the longest cooldown in the game?
