Everybody's Golf comes out in less than a month.....where's the coverage?

From what I understand, you can also freely explore the resort in local multiplayer.

Does anybody know if two local players can join an online lobby?

I got the game this afternoon, so a few impressions and screenshots below.
(the screenshots are off-tv pics made with the phone - sorry but the pixel counters will have have to wait for a DF video )

The character creator is solid, you have many possibilities from the get-go and more options will be available once you start unlocking more hairstyles, clothes and accessories.

You can greatly vary the body shape and size of the characters, and fine tune the spacing/height of all of the face features (hint: press R2 to access more options)
The characters I made so far are SD sized (big head and short body) but you can totally make normally proportioned characters, although they will always be a little cartoony.

After a short tutorial, the game eases you in a first course, and although it's been a few years since I played a Hot shots golf Game, everything seems as I remembered it.

The camera controls are on point and easy to use (sticks and buttons to inspect the course) and the way you swing is a classic 3 button-press gauge where you press X to launch the meter, then again to set the distance and the precision.

There are special holes on the courses, some have special "powers" like sucking your golf ball from a distance (Tornado), some are also larger and make the chip-in easier...
The first course is pretty easy with few hazards but it's nice to get a fell of the controls.
When you do some good shots, you gain some XP and this increases the power and precision of your shots when you level up.

Once you place good enough on the first course, a rival of sort appears, and you get to challenge them. From what I understand there are 3 rivals to beat at first, and then I'll be able to progress and probably unlock a new course.

Once you beat them, you gain their clothes, some XP and stuff like a new club or other stuff.

I barely touched the online mode yet, but it seems you are able to participate in some ranked games alone or in groups - and you get XP and gold depending on your performance. Also some timed events appear from time to time and if you participate you can have a chance at winning some monthly items (clothes and equipment from what I've seen)

I enjoyed the Go vacation games on Wii and I like being able to run around, jump or swim on the courses - sometimes finding items, coins and crystals (don't know yet what they're used for) The fishing mini-game and mini cars seem to be unlocked later because I couldn't find or access them yet.

So far I like it very much... can't wait to unlock new stuff.

Hahahhahha so cool...

Yesterday night I was playing my review copy online and I immediately fall in love with your character :)) nice to meet you "in person" Moozoom, looking forward to beat your daily records and more

The characters editor is amazing. AMAZING. It's better than Mii editor and Avatar editor, Sony need to include this in the Ps4 OS as Microsoft and Nintendo.

Awesome, thanks a bunch for the impressions :)
I held off on grabbing Lost Legacy to get this. If the Vita version was any indication I'm going to spend a lot of time raging at the later courses of the game...

How much online functionality is essential to this game? I'm not currently a Plus subscriber so I'm curious. It always seemed like this game had a heavy emphasis on building a Go Vacation-style world which had multiplayer too (the buggy racing looks really fun!). But does it feel off when you play offline - or is it still just like Go Vacation?

Thanks for the impressions moozoom - really happy to hear it has Go Vacation vibes.

Considering a Pro just for this lol. Well and Spidey.

How many courses are there?

Well apparently is has a 4K option. But HSG has never really been a looker - at least in the IQ stakes. Badly repeating textures, shimmering textures etc. Maybe the pro will finally have enough power to clean that up. The demo/beta looked decent enough although I wasn’t a fan of the odd 'halo' around the ball where there would be a very small area near the ball that had very fluffy grass textures, and then it’d suddenly transition to the plain fairway.

Preorder locked in though.

I understand the reason but still disappointing. HSG isn’t really something you watch, its something you have to play, so I can understand a video of gameplay not being that interesting to people. But a review that you read would still be useful.

I wonder in this world of streaming whether that will hurt HSG? It’s boring as hell to watch someone play

I've been playing the version on iPhone for a while, it feels like its enough for me not to get the game on PS4.

Although I do remember the PS3 version offering vastly superior game play style but the iPhone game will do for me.

Isn't this one riddled with micro transactions?

Saw gold coins and balls that are consumed on individual courses. They're def monetizing things. With that said all the Beta reviews/impressions I've seen don't really give the impression its as bad as it could be.

Also I'm excited as fuck.

So after finding out this releases a day later in the UK (30th) i was dissappointed..

Then i woke up this morning to find EVERYBODY'S GOLF in my post box! Wow, super early!

The game has a massive 8GB day 1 patch. So i am waiting for that right now.

I can stream for you guys if you want to see some things.

Please steamroll the campaign/challenge mode to see if there's alternate shot styles lol

So does anyone know if the game online servers are universal or divided by region? I'm not sure if i should pick NA or Japanese version since i know the NA version online will be a ghost town after few months if it's not using universal servers

Global servers. Should be populated for a long while

Putting looks super serious now, which I love. No more just getting on the green and downing 30y plus putts. Green and pin approach is more important now, as it should be.

I pre-ordered this on Amazon, but only standard shipping was available. That was really weird.

I'm stoked for a new golf game to play with my bros and dad.

Hahaha, hope to meet you too sometimes ! I'm afraid once the game is released, my poor records will be buried very low in the rankings - I'm a noob at Everybody's Golf after all.
I guess maybe you can add some people to see their advancement - gotta check on that.

So where were you able to get the game? Did Amazon ship it early or something?

I live in Paris, France and some stores here are quite famous for breaking the street dates very early. Usually between 1 and 3 weeks before the actual release (° u °)"
My personal record was for the Beatles Rockband: 1 month before the release.

I'm gutted they couldn't get them game out in time for the UK bank holiday weekend ... I'd have been in a good position to sink more than a fair few hours into it!

When I think about it, I'm not a plus subscriber either and yet I could access the online mode. Granted I played alone on a course, and not in a party of people but this part of online play seems unrestricted.

I'll try to join a multiplayer game and see if I can access it.

Hmm - Eurostar should get there in a few hours...

Has Fnac broke the street date?

The golf club stuff looks cool, reminds me of how that was done in Mario Golf (Advance) and Everybody's Tennis (PSP).

Not a huge fan of the appearance of global experience bars (groan) and what looks like two types of currency - some multicoloured diamond and some gold diamond.

How does the experience system work on this? If there's levelling up which affects character stats I'll be very disappointed. Unlocking clubs has always been a thing that scales with your ability (i.e. which courses you've unlocked) so that's fine, but the emphasis on social and online functionality has me wondering what the impact is on balance.

I've never played any entry in the series before but this actually looks like a good amount of fun. I just might get this on Tuesday

Just played for an hour. Character customisation is pretty cool. The actual golf is as good as its always been and that's all o really care about as I'm playing offline mode atm.
