Everybody's Golf comes out in less than a month.....where's the coverage?

I would love to get this but I've never completed one yet and I have four of them (2x PSP, Vita, PS3), need to finish one first.

Agreed. It doesn't help that Sony's mobile game (which I presume is meant to drive sales to this PS4 one) was Japan-only.

It isn't. It's meant to make money and is apparently doing quite well for itself.

Maybe its...not for everybody? ;)

I thought this was coming out on switch too?

lol, even Sony first party games aren't safe from Switch port begging.

Anyway, like most of Sony's first party Japanese games, I'm guessing SIEE will put a little effort into promoting it, while SIEA will send it to die.

I had fun with the Vita entry but frankly I'm set for life when it comes to golf games.

I used to LOVE Hotshots man. I hated what they did to the graphics design on the PS3 version though and skipped it. I hate the way it looks now.

Is this good? I’ve only really played Mario Golf and Hot Shots so i’m curious.

Personally? Best golf game ever made.

Realistically? Best Arcade golf game ever made. Great golf game in general, though I am certain there are bound to be superior and deeper games out there like the Tiger Woods games.

As a big fan of Mario Golf I would wholeheartedly recommend NTM, though.

Check out some reviews on youtube and you'll see it in action. Can't go wrong at that price point, either.

With your thought process above, there should never be any big previews on Mario games or any other big franchise titles...because hey, anyone lookin to buy it is or isn't.

Pretty significant difference between a cultural icon that stands for a whole company and a golf game.

That said, if a game actually needed advertising, it would be this. But on the balance, I doubt a golf game has much of a marketing budget to attract whatever the audience would even be. A lack of buzz is what should be expected.

I mean I'm not expecting SCEA to actually promote it much more than a blog post or 2. I was pleasantly surprised to see it get about 5 minutes worth of coverage at the pre e3 show, that much more than I expected to see. Japan will see marketing as in the past they have released PS3 and Vita system bundles with the game. I actually talked to a marketing guy with Sony at PSX experience back in December so they were at least looking at it for what it's worth and it's part of the Sony Play Link line over here so that has been getting a small push lately.

I don't think I've ever seen much coverage for the series.

I forgot it was out in a month.

Super excited, one of my favorite series.

I have it pre-ordered since a while back. This series is pretty much my meth, I play them for years and I barely have any interest in the actual sport lol.

The characters being a step back from the last game on Vita/PS3 is a letdown, but I'm excited to see what they do with it!

When you release at roughly the same time as uncharted and yakuza its like.. yeah.

Personally i'm buying it.

I dont really like golf but Everybody' golf just has this charm to it that makes it super fun!!

I hate the english voices so much though.

Huh, it's part of Play link? Do you know what they are doing with it?

I miss the classic characters, but the editor is damn hilarious. My kids and I were cracking up at the bizarre facial proportions that they allow you to create.

Destiny 2 + Everybody's Golf is going to occupy most of my remaining 2017 gaming time for sure. Super excited.

I mean to each his own but the beta seemed really fun to me. I thought I would get sick of since we could only play the same 9 holes over and over but it never did. I played in a group chat with some other Gafers and long time fans of the series and while it's not perfect I still thought it was really well done.

I enjoyed the beta.
I'm glad people enjoyed the beta.

Is there impressions somewhere (or in a couple words, what isn't 'perfect')?
The character creator was very good. didn't care for the 3 click putting but you'll get used to it.
My not great impressions of the beta:
I thought the game would look better.
the online stuff seems interesting but unnecessary.
multiple times while playing I would experience frame drops/weird random pauses that would way screw up my timing. I've never experienced it in any of the other hot shots games and i can't help but blame the online portion of it for that. Sometimes it's best to just keep things simple instead of needlessly chaotic. Unfortunately the beta was online only so i didn't get to experience the game offline.

Can't wait for this. Love HS Golf. Played the crap out of it on my Vita. Going to cruise some stores this weekend and see if anyone puts it out early....

Considering a Pro just for this lol. Well and Spidey.

How many courses are there?

If it's anything like some of the previous games they'll have programmed the HUD to play out in 60fps despite the 3D graphics being 30, so it should basically play perfectly on a regular PS4 anyway.

I hope it's still like that!

Yes the UI should be 60 on the base version. But if I got a PS4 I would just buy the Pro anyway.

Any new updates?

I got the game this afternoon, so a few impressions and screenshots below.
(the screenshots are off-tv pics made with the phone - sorry but the pixel counters will have have to wait for a DF video )

The character creator is solid, you have many possibilities from the get-go and more options will be available once you start unlocking more hairstyles, clothes and accessories.

You can greatly vary the body shape and size of the characters, and fine tune the spacing/height of all of the face features (hint: press R2 to access more options)
The characters I made so far are SD sized (big head and short body) but you can totally make normally proportioned characters, although they will always be a little cartoony.

After a short tutorial, the game eases you in a first course, and although it's been a few years since I played a Hot shots golf Game, everything seems as I remembered it.

The camera controls are on point and easy to use (sticks and buttons to inspect the course) and the way you swing is a classic 3 button-press gauge where you press X to launch the meter, then again to set the distance and the precision.

There are special holes on the courses, some have special "powers" like sucking your golf ball from a distance (Tornado), some are also larger and make the chip-in easier...
The first course is pretty easy with few hazards but it's nice to get a fell of the controls.
When you do some good shots, you gain some XP and this increases the power and precision of your shots when you level up.

Once you place good enough on the first course, a rival of sort appears, and you get to challenge them. From what I understand there are 3 rivals to beat at first, and then I'll be able to progress and probably unlock a new course.

Once you beat them, you gain their clothes, some XP and stuff like a new club or other stuff.

I barely touched the online mode yet, but it seems you are able to participate in some ranked games alone or in groups - and you get XP and gold depending on your performance. Also some timed events appear from time to time and if you participate you can have a chance at winning some monthly items (clothes and equipment from what I've seen)

I enjoyed the Go vacation games on Wii and I like being able to run around, jump or swim on the courses - sometimes finding items, coins and crystals (don't know yet what they're used for) The fishing mini-game and mini cars seem to be unlocked later because I couldn't find or access them yet.

So far I like it very much... can't wait to unlock new stuff.

Thanks for the impressions moozoom. Sounds great.

Now do I keep my Amazon pre-order and get the physical copy, or go digital. Decisions, decisions.

Moozoom, can you choose/unlock different swing styles?

I guess so - in the character creation you can choose between 2 swing styles. But I didn't really notice any major difference apart in the animation maybe - not sure if that's what you're talking about. I'm not a Minna no Golf specialist so sorry if I'm wrong.

While playing, I unlocked a new club (or set of clubs - not sure) that makes spin shots possible if you're talking about gameplay.

With regards to the swing styles, past series entries have had 'advanced shot', 'circle shot' and 'arrow shot' as well as the default traditional shot style. All footage so far of the game has just shown the traditional shot (horizontal meter) so us series vets are worried they've done away with other shot styles to get everyone to use traditional, kind of resetting the playing field. My personal favourite was circle shot so I'm really hoping it's in there

That's the situation I'm in. I'm a circle shot guy and I'm concerned that the traditional shot is the only one in the game, based on all footage we've seen so far.

Moozoom, thanks for trying to help. The swing styles/shot types we're talking about look like this....

From the little time I had with the game - I haven't seen anything else than the horizontal meter - but they seem to add some features as you progress. I just did a quizz about golf with an NPC and it unlocked a new camera option to use on the green while putting.

Maybe it will unlock later...
or not ( °_° )"

I had no idea they offered those types of swing styles, the last Minna no golf I played was on the PS1 I think.
I'll try to look in the options maybe it's just a thing you can select. My boyfriend is playing the Danganronpa demo right now - so it will have to wait a bit sorry.

It's possible because half of the swing styles in the Vita game were purchased from the store.

Gonna be my first golf game and pretty excited for it. All the extra stuff seems cool too. I wish they would've added some sort of country club thing where you can create a club and others join and you try to climb the leaderboards to unlock stuff for your cc or yourself.
