South Park' Season 21 Takes on White Nationalist Movement

Cool. Hopefully they don't hold back this season. Randy's joining a cult, always gotta be Randy these days.

Always surprised me when people did that to be honest.

Those types of accusations really came out of the woodwork, after they said they refused to take down Trump". It was very misguided.

I've recently rewatched a lot of the seasons, and god damn was the last one really awful.

I have full faith in them, it was just a bump they hit. I'm sure they learned a lot from it.

The last one was pretty bad, which is a shame because the season that preceded it was top 5 imo.

I am really excited about kid focused one off stories, it is what I have been asking for for awhile. Looks like they couldn't help themselves this time though lol.

The gentrification season was amazing but I don't remember much from last season except for the member berries. It was pretty disappointing.

They already off base in how they're depicting these guys from that image alone.

Those are all previously-seen rednecks from South Park. Would make sense that they're the most white-supremacist types in town, but I get what you're trying to say.

nazi protesters are bad but counter-protesters actually care about something and are not total nihilists so obviously they are the true lame losers

People accusing them of being right-wing are completely misguided.

they are pretty clearly libertarian which is a right-wing ideology in which several prominent people didn't have any qualms about throwing in with the alt-right

Libertarianism is more like a triangle arc off both the right and left. You see more of the former in the US though.

They spent half a season showing how gauche and soulless gentrification is, jokingly equate NCAA sports to slavery, and took the Catholic Church and Scientology to task for their various abuses and tax dodging, but libertarian is the label they get?

You don't need to be Steven Universe to be progressive.

Add in the part where Matt and Trey were specifically criticizing police departments that complain and act like they can't do their job when you tell them to stop shooting unarmed black people. There wasn't any way a person should get the statement wrong with the "Hula school".

It is especially misguided because Matt and Trey said that after just spending an entire season crapping on Mr. Garrison (aka Trump). It was also one of the weakest seasons so far, so I am not surprised they wanted to go in a different direction.

If an entire season shitting on Mr. Garrison and raping Canadian Trump can't clue you in on where Matt and Trey stand, then nothing will.

It'll be a shame when they both sides the shit out of it.

What other important social issues have they portrayed both sides the same? What about all of the pro-gay marriage and gay acceptance episodes they've done? Do they portray homophobia with the same respect that they do with said acceptance? Cut the tired both sides critique because it doesn't apply to 75% of South Park. Outside of their confusing climate change messages/non-messages can you actually even cite any major social or political issues they've actually done the both sides thing or are you just throwing out cliche'd talking points because you're still mad they poked fun at PC culture for a couple seasons?

Last season was a dud, glad to see they're getting back to one-off episodes. The joke setup-to-payoff ratio was all out of whack last season, not to mention they were clearly caught off guard by Hillary's loss and generally had a difficult time finding clever ways to satirize an election that was already satirizing itself.

The same people are still pushing the failed "South Park is problematic" narrative that hasn't caught on here despite a solid two years of effort.

Such an oddly specific windmill to tilt at.

Libertarianism is still on the left on race/gender/orientation/etc. tho. It's a fair assessment on where they've historically been in terms of a viewpoint- the issue is that it's not a pure "right wing" ideology at all and many people don't understand that part of it.

This is also part of why when they go after white liberalism/feminism (see: everything related to Whole Foods and performative displays of political views) many of those people don't understand that they're not mocking those things from a right-wing perspective, it's a self-critique.

Halo 2 is famous for being the Online Multiplayer game on console that exploded into an all out Trash Talking warzone.

Master Chief Represents online anonymity which include online trash talkers behind a GamerTag

Oh I guess that makes some sense. Don't really feel like that's really been the case for a while now tho.

Ah finally South Park going back to what it does best. I didn't like the last 2 seasons as much as their episodes which just focused on topics rather than serializing
